  1. LOL! yes and more specifically there is definitely a pretty compelling reason why no one should date THAT woman!
  2. This site is free to users, and the only way that Oz can make it work is to sell ads to flirt4free, various porn sites, etc etc. All of that content gets the site blocked and certainly we as free users can't ask the owners to forego revenue generating advertising just so we can see it at a Starbucks!
  3. I completely agree you are not being confrontational, but I do believe you are being naive (and wrong LOL)
  4. Without a doubt, one person can derail an application. They may not have the "authority", but I can guarantee you it is commonplace.
  5. one of the problems with our broken country right now is the incredible, emotional divide in perspective and at least part of that is attributable to so many people being "sure" about "assumptions", which seems to me is an oxymoron, but nevertheless incredibly prevalent. Sincerely, Someone who actually knows TY personally and knows his ethnicity (not an assumption)
  6. This boy can sing! thanks for posting...
  7. Last night on extra, they had footage of the Shriver family vacation on a boat... with Maria's brothers and this young Schwarzenegger shirtless and frolicking on the boat. Then they one uncle (Maria's brother) and his nephew flexing and posing with nephew tweeting "I kick my uncle's ass in the gym every day" and the uncle tweeting "Watch me take my nephew down a notch or two and deliver a nationally televised lesson in humility on Extra." Immediately after that, they had one of those call in contests about who is hotter... uncle or nephew on Extra. Ok... call it completely MY FAULT for watching the show, but I found the whole thing kind of creepy and weird. I mean... not just cooperating with the paparazzi, but assisting them? Ugh. In my defense, I watch Extra because it happens to precede Family Guy reruns every night so if I am early, it's on. Ok I feel better that I can justify that.
  8. Definitely! They could definitely both be people you could do without in your life and I am pretty certain that I feel that way about this dynamic duo.
  9. No he didn't. And quite simply that's the reason I state in my position that I would never hire him. I also would never flash my ID when things were going poorly with a Craigslist companion... and hence I also state quite clearly in my position that the guy is stupid (my first post) in addition to being a creep, and that I have no pity for him at all. Pretty straightforward... i don't like either of them (unless the kid truly was in extremus)... the kid as an escort or the legislator as a human being.
  10. If it comes to be fact that the kid was held against his will, then I agree there was little recourse to call for help and thereby out this person. On the other hand, it's hard to imagine an 18 yo can be held against his will by a 65 yo, and that this situation can then be rectified by calling for reinforcements with your sister who arrives later when much time has passed and you are not harmed to bail you out. So I took this as a he said, he said situation... and sorry if I didn't factor it in as fact. There really are only a couple of facts that are incontrovertible in this situation: 1) The escort outed the client 2) The client is a state legislator with an anti gay agenda, and his family got involved to try to silence the problem. Given that these are the only 2 points of fact that I can discern, I stand by my feelings: 1) The escort violated the #1 rule of escorting and i would never hire him no matter how cute 2) The client is a creep, hypocrite, and malicious prick and I am happy he's getting his, and he is completely different than someone who is simply choosing to live in the closet.
  11. It was a DAMN good one too! BTW... in regards to the main flow of the discussion on this topic... I agree with these sentiments: 1) An escort's first loyalty should be to discretion, not political bent (even though I admit to enjoying it when someone like this client "get's his") 2) I draw a distinction between someone in the closet and someone in the closet actively pursuing homophobic agendas for whatever misguided notions are swimming around in his head. To me, being in the closet is a tough and difficult choice, and spending your life working to destroy those who are like you is an evil personality flaw... and I generally don't like those filled with malice. So specific actions items for this case (lol) are: 1) Never hire that kid from CL no matter how cute he is because he violated the #1 rule of escorting. 2) Feel absolutely no pity for our friendly State Legislator (in fact even enjoy it a little as he's both stupid and despicable) and leave the olive branch offering to others.
  12. I am, I said. (nowadays I'm lost between two shores) thanks, Neil Diamond
  13. Yes, I did! (well sort of) And for now (separatists are pretty weak right at the moment)
  14. I certainly am not defending the way it's being done, because it would certainly be nice to have it be universal at the Federal level (or even written into the US Constitution), but that's not appearing to be happening anytime soon. But you believe it's a pain in the ass because you believe it's just "a certificate" or some "self imposed idea of equality." People who believe in marriage (and that's a huge sizable number btw) consider it a fundamental right. Not to mention, in this country, the institution of marriage carries with it huge federal benefits in the tax code, in the power of surrogate decision making, in ownership in tenancy, etc, etc. Half a century ago, inter-racial relations were illegal, and entry to restaurants, clubs, modes of transportation, etc could be restricted based purely on race. Fighting for equal protection under the law was not, and should not have been, viewed as a giant pain in the ass just to eat at THAT restaurant... after all, why don't you just go eat at the other one that has food you like better anyway? In my opinion, you can personally minimize the significance of marriage to yourself and as an institution, but I don't believe any American advocating for democracy or any gay man striving to overcome discrimination should minimize the importance of equal protection under the law.
  15. Though I completely agree with you that personally I would have absolutely no interest in getting married, I believe the obsession is one of equal rights and protection under the law, which is really something every American should wish for. It's like that old expression... "I don't agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
  16. maybe it's a stereotype... but I have rarely found a security employee at any gay venue (strip club, dance club, bar, etc etc) to have any focus whatsoever on customer service or public relations. Being a humorless prick is part of the job description when they put out ads. On the other hand, since you and your friend tend to be "regulars", make friends with one or two of your particularly favorite bar staff with conversation and appropriate tips. They are in-tuned with the customer service angle. Next time they want to take your chairs away, simply ask you favorite bartender, "Can you please help us explain to security that XXX needs his chair, please?"
  17. Tom! you are my hero! Without even being able to see his face I can tell you that I would gladly have done the bottom! Definitely would have been fun to be just as close as you were as well!
  18. for those who live in southern california, here's an opportunity to see Going Down in LA LA Land this Saturday July 9 http://www.frontiersla.com/Features/Highlights/Story.aspx?ID=1445421 or if you live on the opposite coast, you can see it on July 22 in NYC: http://newfest.slated.com/2011/films/goingdowninlalaland_casparandreas_newfest2011 If you like the kind of quirky independent film that has the following attributes, it's worth seeing: 1) Very cute lead who gets naked periodically 2) Very funny "fag hag" character 3) Briefly delves into the world that is this board....
  19. This one would be tons of fun, though! Well maybe in the past....
  20. This is my experience... and hence a one-time experience: 1) They are smarter than you 2) They have fewer scruples than you 3) They have home court advantage and they aren't afraid to use it 4) "Intellectual property" is not in their dictionary 5) If you manage to overcome 1,2,3, and 4, the government can take everything you have at anytime anyway. That being said... obviously there's a wild wild west (or east) of opportunity out there. Just go in with eyes wide open.
  21. and I'll be waiting to hear!
  22. How about the quote that you have in your footer, Oz? Great quote from QAF... "I don't believe in love. I believe in fucking. It's honest, it's efficient. You get in and out with the maximum of pleasure, and minimum of bullshit. LOVE is something straight people tell themselves they're in, so they can get laid and they end up hurting each other, because it was all based on lies to begin with." -Brian Kinney (Queer as Folk)
  23. I saw: 1) X-men: And enjoyed it. Thought it was well done and captivating. And of course two of them are quite cute! 2) Hangover 2: Entertaining. won't win an Oscar, but it was an evening well spent! 3) Going Down in La-La Land. Independent film seen at a Gay/Lesbian film festival. Starred my friend Matthew Ludwinski who is gorgeous and along with his costar Allison Lane did an extremely commendable job in his first movie. It's the story of a very attractive young actor who moves to LA with the dream they all have, and ends up with no job, no future, and the need to explore the "seedier" side of the city. If you see it coming to a LGBT film festival to a city near you, I highly recommend it.
