  1. Not particularly easy to use, not hard either. Potentially dangerous if not used correctly. I do not use because I have no real need for it. Pressure cookers usually used for one of two reasons: 1) canning low acid vegetables and meats. 2) rapid cooking foods that normally take longer times. Low acid vegetables and fruits need to be canned at 240 degress for some minimum time period in order to stop the growth of botulism in the product. Botulism does not grow in acid environments found with fruits, pickles etc. Processing in a boiling water bath (212 degrees) will suffice for those foods. When a cook has a tough piece of meat or a large food item that takes more time to cook properly than is available then cooking in a pressure cooker at a super high temperature shortens the cook time. Your nutritionist may argue that rapid cooking preserves more nutrients. Maybe, maye not, as the higher temperatures may break nutrients down faster. I do not know. If there are other health reasons then I am unaware of them.
  2. A beautiful young life cut down in his prime. So sad.
  3. I think the difference is quite striking myself. Amy had a fantastic voice even if she had little self-discipline whereas Kim's claim to fame is a walking ad for booty and boob medical enhancements and little more that I can see. Amy's talent will be missed by many. Kim's booty will be upstaged by next year' booty fixation, if not sooner. I believe Kim's decline in the pop culture is already significant. I think to Amy's credit, she went out on a positive note, sadly. According to tox reports she had no illicit drugs in her system when she died and I read somwhere that her death was associated with severe alcohol withdrawal effects. Sure she got herself wrapped around that pole on her own, more or less. But at least she went out clean rather than OD'd.
  4. I agree that Obama has continued some of the Bush intiatives, some unwisely IMO and that I personally disagree with. However, that does not make him a black Bush. There are many many more differences. Even a broken clock agrees with the right time twice a day. So, let's not go overboard about overlap. That article reminds me of how wacko some Libertarians are. I respect Libertarians that temper it with practicality and common sense. I used to have a vein of it run in me in years past, tempered as it was.
  5. Nope it is not. However, sterotypes are often based on signficant correlations. It is true that most prejudiced identify with conservative groups. You may wish to deny that but stats do not lie on this. So while all cows have four legs, not all four legged animals are cows. Many, probably the vast majority of conservatives are not prejudiced but that does not refute the facts that most prejudiced identify with and particpate in conservative groups. In the end it matters little to minority groups whether they suffer at the hands of the truly prejudiced or because of someone's idea of good politics or good business or some other reason. A number of politicians that are not individually prejudiced people but nevertheless play to 'issues' that appeal to the predjudiced because it is good politics. One need only look at McCain's 180 on immigration reform or Oren Hatch's 180 on the Dream Act which he originated as a concept and legislative bill in years past. Other examples are found in the myriad of legislative actions from GOP Governors and Legislatures tightening voter restriction that happen to target the minority communities more than general communities. The examples could go on and on...
  6. I agree with the general principle you are espousing:'You can't expect the protection of a group you are threatening.' That being said, I take exception to your identification of wronged groups in this case. If he had been outed by a 'member of the gay community' I would be ok with it. He is harming the gay community and a member of the gay community is drawing attention to the Rep's hypocracy. OR if he had outed the escort to law enforcement or even to the pubic then I would be ok with the escort outing the Rep. So if the 'gay community' is harmed it is ok for the gay community to to defend itself. If the escort community is harmed or a single individual of that community then it is ok for that community or member to defend itself or himself. It is not ok to mix communities in this principle. Again, not for the sake of the Rep. but for the sake of the escort member and community.
  7. This just reflects that NYC and Rio are international markets and the dollar is in the toilet vs other currencies. The international travelers set the market. If you want a cheap stay go to Omaha. They don't get so much international trade. They still think the dollar is worth something.
  8. Interesting that China's gross population stats differ so much from much of the rest of the world which puts the frequency of gays in the population at one in ten. That would put China up there at about one hundred million, not thirty. It must be the water. There is precendent though as Iran claims they have none, I believe. That clear hetero spring water must source in Iran and by the time it seeps into China the rainwater has diluted that purity. When the GOP finds out about this they may have a change of heart about the EPA.
  9. Your patience and perseverance is much greater than mine.
  10. Maybe one of the athletic camps over here might pick him up as a coach. It seems a shame to see that gymnastic ability go to waste -- for him and for the sport.
  11. It won't be McConaughey, he only gives displays publicly for the papparazi after partaking of Famous Amos's cookies... or was that Mrs Field's brownies. Not complaining mind you. Whoever it is won' t embarass themselves hopefully. Coming up short could stunt their career.
  12. Nothing in that description makes this work appeal to me-- from the disgust at being offered free candy to the description of his mother's lounging wear. I already have enough baggage to live with, I don't need to experience him wallowing in his. Count me as a NO.
  13. I have to take back this post. On closer inspection I see that the escort I was talking about seeing some years back and these photos are not the same individual. There are striking similarities as in a huge long dick, a muscular body, a darker ethnic skin hue, and a smokin' total picture. I do believe the photos are probably photos of Hagan, who also worked for Corbin Fisher too. It is unclear whether this Caio is same person or just someone ripping off Hagan's photos. A couple of thoughts though. One, if this is Hagan he could make a fortune off escorting with that connection publicized. Two, if this escort is not Hagan then he picked one hell of an example to inpersonate in person. Few could carry that off. Else, this would have to work as a pay-up-front rip-off scam.
  14. I believe in letting others beta test new products and new versions. I wait a couple of months generally and see what the community says about it. Then I decide.
  15. I really should have played the lottery today. I had no idea when I posted this AM that another eruption in markets due to the EU crisis would happen today. It was a safe bet it would happen near term but not today. Hence the lottery comment. It was drama on CNBC this AM when Cramer remarked that it was a potential European Bear-Stearns moment and the British CNBC analyst crawled up his ass denying it and demanding Cramer take back his words, which he eventually did, tepidly. There is no telling how many shares of European Banks stocks were dumped on Cramer's words but apparently the tepid retraction was enough to contain the damage... for today. This is what German and French inaction will invite -- chaotic failure of the EU banking system rather than a structured write-down passing out measured hair-cuts to everyone and pumping money into the system to keep it upright. It is hard to find fault with the Europeans because I doubt we could address another meltdown with this Congress should it materialize. The Fed and probably Obama would do all that the law allows but he would be rewarded by being shown the door at the next election and we might well lose the independence of the Fed depending on how the next Congress turns out. Our nation, and Europe it seems, have forgotten the lessons of the Great Depression or just do not believe them. It certainly is the case that those who do not remember history are destined to repeat it. Unfortunately, if they prevail they take everyone else with them.
  16. A very thought provoking reply too. Definitley food for thought.
  17. There is something to what you say, but the enemy must be real and not 'trumped up'. 9/11 was effective in coalescing the country because we were attacked by a real enemy. 'Trumping up' enemies for political purposes only works when there is widespread fear or paranoia gripping the country. We do see some of that now being used against Obama. We do not see that with respect to Libya or Syria and there is great division about what role we should play if any. Either of those military actions are a negative political gambit because their is no consensus in the country about them, just factional issue groups. That only deepens divisions.
  18. I strongly doubt that Hagen and this escort are one and the same. I have seen this rentboy ad online for several years, back in the HooBoy days. The pics are the same over this time period. He seemed based in NY and very infrequently travelled New England according, again, to his oline ad. It was my impression that he was expensive and difficult to schedule. Not sure why that impression persists as I have never seen him. (Dissappointed that he was a total top. ) So that may be inaccurate or things may have changed. I have never seen a review and do not recall a post about an actaul enccounter.
  19. It went pretty much as I expected with mad swings, up and down like a toilet seat in a urologist's office, that damped off after a week. Maybe a bit more dramatic but not much. The long term effect was a loss of a thousand points give or take, no doubt also partly caused by renewed worries in Europe. It avoided the multi-thousand point loss seen in 2008 which was never really in the cards based on the S&P downgrade. Watch for this to play out again around November when the Super Committee reports or fails to. It has been much less stressful watching all of this from the sidelines, thankfully. The ride ain't over yet though. The EU is teetering on the brink with no real leadership showing the way to the tough measures needed. The only way to save the current configuration is for Germany and France to write most of the EU debt off. Merkel and Sarkozy continue to demur. The EU may go up in a puff of smoke or it may throw out the Mediterranean tier, maybe with Ireland for good measure. I do not think they can't do nothing. (How's that for a string of negatives. ) Anything bad that happens will hit us with a jolt too. The EU is a big trading partner. Britain, although it has its own serious problems, is looking pretty now with the refusal to opt in on the Euro dollar.
  20. They must. How else can anyone account for the ratings of Rush and Hannity to name just two of a gaggle.
  21. Based on the stated topic, I was hoping for recommendations that would more properly belong in The Buffet.
  22. Shep Smith Says London Is Looking For A 'Top C--k' Sheppard Smith has a slip of the tongue so to speak, of the Freudian Kind? See Video at: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08/16/shep-smith-london-top-cock_n_928010.html (I wonder if it was really a slip.)
  23. 10 Car Design Duds Innovative or ill-advised? You be the judge. Here are 10 cars that just never quite caught on. http://autos.yahoo.com/news/10-auto-design-duds.html?page=1 This article is so graphics intensive that it is best to view the original article at the link. I had forgotten about some of these and never knew of a few.
  24. Here is an article on the same theme I stumbled over today.... Survey’s surprising finding: tea party less popular than atheists and Muslims By Rachel Rose Hartman | The Ticket In an op-ed article in the New York Times, Robert D. Putnam, a professor of public policy at Harvard, and David E. Campbell, a political scientist at Notre Dame, say they have collected data indicating that the tea party is "less popular than much maligned groups like 'atheists' and 'Muslims.'" But Campbell says the tea party was really an afterthought in their research. "We didn't go into this study to look at the tea party," Campbell said in an interview with The Ticket. The professors were following up on research they conducted in 2006 and 2007 for their book "American Grace: How Religion Divides and Unites Us" and decided to add the tea party and atheists to their list of survey queries. By going back to many of the same respondents, the professors gleaned several interesting facts about the tea party. One of their more surprising findings, Campbell concedes, (and one drawing national attention) is that the tea party drew a lower approval rating than Muslims and atheists. That put the tea party below 23 other entries--including Barack Obama, Sarah Palin, Republicans and Democrats--that the professors included on their survey of "a representative sample of 3,000 Americans." By examining which respondents became supporters of the tea party, Campbell and Putnam's survey "casts doubt on the tea party's 'origin story,' " they write in the Times. Early tea partiers were described as "nonpartisan political neophytes," Campbell and Putnam write, but their findings showed that tea partiers were "highly partisan Republicans" who were more likely than others to have contacted government officials. "They are overwhelmingly white, but even compared to other white Republicans, they had a low regard for immigrants and blacks long before Barack Obama was president, and they still do," they went on. In addition to being socially conservative, the study found a close tie between religion and the tea party, whose supporters seek out "deeply religious" elected officials. "This helps to explain why candidates like Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry are just as much about the public presentation of themselves as religious people as fiscal conservatives," Campbell told The Ticket. Campbell said Tuesday that he does not regard his research as politically motivated. "I don't have a particular dog in this or any other political fight," he said. "We actually didn't go into this study primarily to look at the tea party," he told the Ticket. "The primary purpose of the study is to update what we learned about religion in America." 25. I find any discussion on this site about escort and client responsibilities quite relevant for newbies and, based on comments expressed herein, for older hands too. That goes for clients and escorts.
