Oz, Barry might have some input on this if only he could get into the forum to post.

I never was enamored of that particular forum for several reasons. It seemed to never draw the sought escort responses. I don't blame the escorts for that. Some things are better left unsaid or said in private. Most of the responses to an 'Ask the Escort' question came from clients or wannabe clients even though it was 'ask the escort'. That is not to say there were not any escort responses or interesting questions asked, just few relative to the number of questions posed and escort responses recieved. Also, the 'Ask an Escort' forum was the first forum HooBoy established after the first big flame out on his site. It was unclear what is his plans were for his message center. I believe he established it has a narrowly focused trial forum to see if his message center could be brought back online without another flame out occuring. Those were the days of out-of-control posters and heavy moderation. That history, the fact that some questions are better addressed privately, the ratio of escort/client responses, and the participation in that forum was way below other forums at HooBoy's led me to conclude that 'ask the escort' questions could be handled within The Pub or The Buffet. Maybe that judgment should be revisited.

>The obvious inference is that these two products are now one. >Is that true? > No it is not, as far as I know. >I am aggravated enough by >the huge, bright banner... > The background color is not my favorite but I think i have some vague recall that it is a fav of Oz. >Sorry for the negative message. I thought about not posting >but decided it's better for you to hear viewer comments. It is better to get feedback -- the good the bad, and, in your assessment, the ugly. That is the only way we can provide what members want. Oz is very sensitive to responding to customer suggestions and other inputs. Oz also is trying to turn this site from a money sink into at least a break even endeavor. More than break even would be better. To that end, we are providing adult content opportunities for those that wish to avail themselves of them. The challenge is to integrate the adult site portals into MER with minimal disruption of the site atmosphere. The initial integration of some portals has been undertaken. Now we are getting some feedback to consider. More will come and we will consider the feedback as we go. The goal is to provide a site that members/viewers want to visit for free content and discussion and also a site to generate income to cover expenses at least and maybe a bit more. We are dedicated to keeping the escort information content FREE for all. To generate income we will offer premium services and adult content portals to those who want them. The challenge is to balance these two aspects so that neither overshadows the other. We need feedback to get that right. Thanks. I'm sure you are aware of our goals but I thought I'd take this opportunity to address a larger audience. :7 > >Happy Memorial Day to all of you. >BG Thanks and a Happy Memorial day to you too. TY

From: http://home.hamptonroads.com/stories/print...124727&ran=4499 Two Beach men charged with murder of Pa. porn producer By JON FRANK, The Virginian-Pilot © May 16, 2007 Last updated: 11:13 PM VIRGINIA BEACH - A Virginia Beach male escort and his partner were arrested Tuesday in connection with the slaying of a gay porn film producer who was stabbed to death earlier this year in Pennsylvania. Harlow Raymond Cuadra, 25, and Joseph Manuel Kerekes, 33, both of 1028 Stratem Court, were arrested by Beach police about 10 a.m. on Virginia Beach Boulevard as they drove in their black BMW, according to Barry Taylor, a Beach attorney who represents Cuadra. The two men, who operate Norfolk Gay Escorts and Norfolk Companions Inc., as well as at least two Web sites, have been suspects in the case since Beach police executed a search warrant at their home in February. On Tuesday, they were taken to Virginia Beach police headquarters while investigators with the Pennsylvania State Police considered a host of charges against them relating to the slaying of Bryan C. Kocis of Dallas, Pa., on Jan. 24. Someone killed Kocis, a producer of gay films and owner of Cobra Video, by cutting his throat. He was then stabbed 28 times and burned. His body was discovered by firefighters who were called to a structural fire. Pennsylvania authorities on Tuesday unveiled a 54-page document that spells out the charges and evidence against the two men. Besides criminal homicide, Cuadra and Kerekes may be charged with robbery, burglary, arson, theft, tampering with evidence and conspiracy, Taylor said. After the arrest Tuesday, Beach police executed another search warrant at the Stratem Court residence. Police are investigating whether to charge the men with violating Virginia's Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, conspiracy to launder money, and conspiracy to receive money from the earnings of male or female prostitutes, according to the search warrant. Taylor said Tuesday afternoon that the detailed document and affidavit will take some time to digest. "We are trying to sort through it and see how strong the evidence really is," Taylor said. Kerekes is being represented by a Pennsylvania attorney, Taylor said. The Pennsylvania document details a complicated case against the two men, tied together by a maze of e-mails. Most of the e-mails are between the victim and a person named "Danny Moilin. " In an affidavit, Pennsylvania authorities claim that Moilin is an alias of Cuadra's that was used to set up the victim. The affidavit claims that the motive for the crime was money. Cuadra and Kerekes, the affidavit says, believed Kocis to be their main rival in the lucrative gay pornography business, and they wanted Kocis out of the way so they could form a relationship with Kocis' main pornography star, Sean Lockhart, who is known in the gay film industry as Brent Corrigan. The affidavit says that extensive electronic communication took place between Moilin and Kocis just prior to Kocis' death. The communication was filtered through multiple addresses in an attempt to disguise its origination point. It also says that a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle seen leaving the scene was rented by Cuadra in Virginia in the days leading up to the killing. The affidavit says that Cuadra and Kerekes bought a knife at a Beach gun shop prior to the slaying. From: http://www.timesleader.com/news/20070516_1...ts_ed_ART0.html Two arrested in local gay porn producer’s killing Conversations taped electronically are key break [em]EDWARD LEWIS elewis@timesleader.com[/em] Two men from Virginia Beach were arrested Tuesday morning in connection with the slaying of gay film producer Bryan Kocis in Dallas Township nearly four months ago. Harlow Raymond Cuadra, 25, and Joseph Manuel Kerekes, 33, were captured about 10 a.m. while driving on Virginia Beach Boulevard. Cuadra and Kerekes are each charged with criminal homicide, conspiracy to commit criminal homicide, abuse of corpse, robbery, burglary, theft and two counts of arson. The investigation took a dramatic turn three weeks ago when investigators electronically intercepted conversations the two men had with Sean Lockhart and Grant Roy in San Diego. Lockhart is a former model for Kocis’ company, Cobra Video, and is a partner with Roy in LSG Media, a San Diego-based company that markets gay pornographic movies. The body of the 44-year-old Kocis was found Jan. 24 by firefighters who responded to a fire at his home at 60 Midland Drive. According to the criminal complaints, investigators recorded a conversation near a hotel in San Diego on April 27 in which Roy asked if Kocis “felt any pain.†Cuadra leaned toward Lockhart and said, “Don’t worry, he went quick.†The four men went to Black’s Beach near San Diego on April 28, where Cuadra admitted he was inside the Dallas Township home when Kocis was killed, the criminal complaints say. Luzerne County Coroner Dr. Jack Consalvo said Kocis was dead before the fire because there were no carbon-monoxide levels in the body or burnt particles in his airway and lungs. Court records say Kocis suffered 28 stab wounds and a slashed neck that severed arteries and veins. Before he was killed, Kocis told an associate he was meeting a new model that evening. Investigators claim Cuadra set up several e-mail accounts in the days before Jan. 24 and sent Kocis several e-mails identifying himself as Danny Moilin in a model application for Cobra Video. Cuadra used his credit card to lease a silver/gray Nissan Xterra from a Virginia Beach car-rental business on Jan. 23. Cuadra and Kerekes also purchased a folding-type knife and a .38-caliber handgun and ammunition from a pawn shop in Virginia Beach on Jan. 23, the criminal complaints say. A folding-type knife was found inside Kocis’ home, investigators said. Cuadra and Kerekes drove to Luzerne County, where they checked into a room at the Fox Ridge Inn in Plains Township on Jan. 23. Kerekes used his Virginia’s driver’s license to check into the motel, where they stayed until Jan. 24, the criminal complaints say. Kocis’ company was involved in a federal lawsuit accusing Lockhart of violating two contracts and misusing a trademark name, Brent Corrigan, for personal use. An out-of-court settlement was reached in February, according to federal court records. Lockhart worked for Cobra Video under the name Brent Corrigan. Investigators learned that Cuadra and Kerekes met Lockhart at a gay film convention in Las Vegas in mid-January. While having dinner at a restaurant at the Bellagio Hotel, Cuadra discussed filming pornographic movies with Lockhart but Lockhart was reluctant because he was under contract with Kocis. Cuadra then asked questions such as, “What if Bryan left the country and what if he went to Canada.†Kerekes then said, “Harlow knows someone who would do anything for him,†according to the criminal complaints. Roy, who was at the dinner, told investigators Cuadra was talking about killing Kocis. A few days after having dinner with Lockhart and Roy, Cuadra purchased a background history for Kocis through USA People for $39.95 on Jan. 20, the criminal complaints say. Attorneys for Cuadra and Kerekes said the two men also are facing charges of violating Virginia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, conspiracy to launder money and conspiracy to receive money from earnings of male and female prostitution. Attorney Barry Taylor said Cuadra called him from the car authorities stopped on Virginia Beach Boulevard. Attorney Graydon Brewer said the home of Cuadra and Kerekes was searched by authorities Tuesday morning and televisions were seized. Virginia Prosecutor Paul J. Powers said Cuadra and Kerekes may appear before a Virginia Commonwealth judge this morning in connection to the arrest warrants in Pennsylvania. Powers said he will know more information about possible extradition to Pennsylvania after the hearing. Cuadra and Kerekes are being held at the Virgina Beach Detention Center. I was waiting for a shoe to drop on this. Interesting indeed. I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist in general, but this case may prove the exception. Or maybe just a drvien entrepreneur looking to make his own business opportunity.

>However, still curious why it will let me post with a made up >name. Didn't you have to be a site member to actually post in >this forum, or is that not true? That is true. Now we have established that something is really screwed up. BUt wait!! That is where we started.

I apologize to all for the glitch. It has to do with the single login for both forum and site. It was an issue in the beginning and it remained chronically 'touchy' but we managed to get by until the big hack 'n crash. Then it became acute once again. Since the crash I haven't had the programmers to address the issue what with server moves and the like. Now I have the support but must decide whether to invest the manpower in an open dark pit just to throw it out in a few weeks with new software that we have acquired on OR move ahead with the new replacement. When the forum software doesnt recognize, I have been advising members to try logging out and then back in but only from the Home Page. Then try again. If that doesnt work then kill the cookies and restart the browser. Or we can descend into the pit without guarantee of outcome and delay the replacement.
