JunNJ, I enjoyed the read and the accompanying photos. Muito obrigado! I've never been to Porte Alegre, but read from previous visitors that being there on the weekend is the best time at the saunas. And that's from a guy who've visited Brasil over 100Xs during these years. Also, the possible reason for the guys being at the Sao Paulo saunas on a Sunday is due to the economic situation of the country! The Brasilian economy is apparently in dire straits! I feel sorry for the people!

Read posts about Porto Alegre that are in the archives; recommendations and specifics about them are located there. Just type in Porto Alegre in the search at this particular forum and read and savor until your heart is content. I've never been but hope to in 2017; I'll use the guidance and information that's given here and proceed from there. Prior to my going to Curitiba some years back after having gone to other places throughout this country, I used what was cited here along with my asking queries as you did, in part, and traveled and enjoyed immensely, thus having me return some 11Xs.

A while ago there were about three or four escort sites on the net for Brasil. Today none of them exist except for the one which JayBlk cited, but when the others were around, I did hire from and for reasonable prices. If their fees are equivalent to the ones asked for by Americans or Europeans-- I would perhaps forego, but if they are R$200-300, that still should not be too bad considering the exchange rate. I wish you success and would appreciate a report here for us if you're amenable to the request. I hope to be in Brasil: Salvador, Sao Paulo, and Rio in 2017 for my 12th trip.

Before I made my very first trip to Brasil in 2002, I asked innumerable questions at "the other site," and the men responded. When I returned and shared, others would ask questions: I would respond, for I believed and still to this day some 14 years later want to add timely information to assist others. I've even had guys, many of them, write me privately to solicit guidance. I was helped: I believe in returning. But, I'm with the guy who started this thread! It's the same of youngsters receiving scholarships and never sending a thank you note to the non profits or agencies or individuals granting these to the recipients.

mjd- please report back (in detail if you are so inclined). Also, ask the proprietor of the lodging if he's aware of any guides who are English speaking, preferably male and gay! I'd love to construct my itinerary as well as use the additional places and interests of the guides. The guides don't have to escort, but if willing, connect me with some hotties who do or do not speak the language (English). If I manage to go to Colombia, I plan to take an electronic translator, but for being a guide-- I'd truly hope and desire a native who speaks English. Have a great, great trip. When I began going to Brazil for its culture, history, and definitely the meeting of its gorgeous men-- I relied on the information supplied to me by guys from daddysreviews.com. In fact, one man who'd been at the site for a while was the one who introduced "ALL" of us to the sauna scene. From there my/our interests piqued, and off we went. One piece of salient advice given to me/us was NOT to go with the first man who seeks your interest. "Shop around" for as long as you deem necessary! This helped me greatly during my first and subsequent trips, for when I went to one of the saunas in Rio de janeiro which is now defunct, I went in and changed my clothes and made my "command appearance!" Few clients were there, so the men eyed me. One guy had the audacity to follow me and demand his attention. Finally, I was able to get rid of him. That evening I had two encounters. The next night I went to a different sauna and had so much fun which led me back several times before I left, and during this time there were three websites where there were ads. I solicited the services of two of these guys and did not pay overly-inflated prices or prices which are comparable to those of the US and Europe. In a few years to follow, I again hired from the saunas as well as from the websites and did not have any problems with the requested fee, for they were then quite reasonable. But, if you do not speak much Brasilian Portugese, I'd advise you to stick with the saunas and perhaps explore other arenas on your future trips. Read everything that's here as well as the not so current information that's at daddysreviews.com. If you're not a member there, join and access the past and current information. There is still a lot of value over there as well as here! Go and Explore! Let your "big head" rule over the "smaller of the two!" Treat the guys with the utmost of respect! Know the currency rate, for R$100, 150, 200 seems like a lot of money, but in actuality, it is NOT as compared to the Euro and the US dollar. Fall in love with "MOTHER BRASIL!" Please report back here to us who are always interested in the experiences of others. I hope to return in 2017 after eleven previous visits!!!

Remember R$100, R$150 is not very much money. Check out the currency exchange, and you'll see that in our terms-- you're having "fun" for very, very little money. Yes, those sums seem like a lot because in dollars they are a nice sum of change. But remember again, in Euros and dollars, three figures are a lot: $150, E200 etc...... You and your guy agree on the amount. If both consent then it goes! Please let us know about your experience when you return or before if you desire and have the time!!!

Hope you'd write as detailed and as interestingly when you return from your trip to Cuba next month. Your sharing can serve as a precursor to my hoped trip to Havana for the 39th Jazz Festival. Unfortunately, I'll be going with a group but plan NOT to participate in some of the itinerary if it's quite similar to the second one I was on when I went to Habana for a mere 8 days. Your saga here piques my interest frequently!

I was a member for many a year. This site received minimal postings because of the dearth in travelers who would respond. ... haven't been to the site any of 2016 and rarely during the preceding year, for my last trip to "Mother Brazil" was in 2011. I do hope to return sometime in 2017!!

A Brit amigo of mine has traveled to Cuba about five times. When he's sent me his report of all of the fun that he had, he has stated that the men with whom he had fun and played were all married and/or had a woman friend! Apparently, the thoughts about "straight men" having sex with other men in Cuba is similar to that of Brasil.

I appreciate your taking the time to begin your adventures in writing while you're there. Continue to enjoy yourself and take in "The Marvelous City," again after a three year hiatus. I have not been to http://www.gayromeo.comin quite a while, for I have had browser problems, but let me assume that the plethora of Cubans on this site are on the user sector. I write this based on a friend's experience. Since I don't speak or write Espanol, I can't communicate there very easily. One guy who formerly was on http://www.gayromeo.comand who I saw last February is now on the user area from what one friend of mine relayed; his name is Yoel. He does not speak very much English, but he's masculine, very hot, and has a gorgeous uncut endowment. You might want to check him out.

In terms of restaurants in the various cities and towns, why not first check to see what's on http://www.tripadvisor.comas well as what's provided at http://www.gaycities.com. I've found both sites to offer valuable information regarding restaurants, etc. In doing this one can get a sense of what's available. That's what I did in reference to independently run restaurants in Habana, Cuba. When I told my guide/director that I'd like to eat elsewhere on two occasions, she began to question. She was surprised that I knew the better restaurants that exist in her city. All was good in the end!
