Funny, so did I, for March!

I remember my first visit to Singapore, c. 1977, very little Aircon, and as a visiting lawyer I was wearing a suit! Same for Bangkok.

My spies in Bangkok, for what they are worth, thing he has lost out slightly, but I don't think Anutin should be underestimated. Corrupt to the core, and clever.

He always eats a lot when I keep on at him, and also puts stuff in his bag, so I don't think it's a cycle issue. I takes him 90 mins to get to the hotel, enough time to work up an appetite!

Mind you, on New Year's Day, at the Meridien, breakfast, about 60% of the tables were male couples, with a smattering of MBs!

Mac, from Gayguides, is the opposite. I invite him to come to the hotel for breakfast, before a tour, and I have to almost force him to eat. I point out that actually I get breakfast for 2 included in my room rate at Le Meredien! And he should eat what he likes. He says, 'do you think I can have another coconut juice?' Sweet, and/or polite, but almost aggravating! Same at lunch. I always buy lunch for the guide and the driver, and Mac is always very modest. I do give him a good tip!

Further to earlier discussions about air fares, this is for those of you who like to travel business class, ie me! Finnai, in March, are currently offering a return fare LON/HEL/BKK for £2,180. Non refundable, and restricted to cabin baggage, but you can choose your seat. There may be similar fares for other times, but I wanted early March. Seemed to be quite a few seats. Normally Finnair are touching £4,000.

Any betting on further early release in health grounds? Anyone remember Ernest Saunders, known as Deadly Ernest, one of the Guinness 4, who was released from prison early, as he was said to have Alzheimer's? He is the only person known to have made a miraculous recovery once released! What odds for the same thing here!

When I first went to Bangkok, over 40 years ago, the food was quite basic. Now they have 30 Michelin starred restaurants! Things change.

I remember the BBB Inn! Happy days. Going back to the thread, the main advantage of meeting the guy downstairs is no nasty surprises, ie 15 years older etc. Easier to politely remove the guy if you are in lobby!

In fact I seem to recall that one or two of the SkyTrain stations, perhaps Saphan Thaksin, only have space for 4 carriages! That would be typical Thai planning! Difficult to expand Saphan Thaksin due to river, etc.
