  1. Must have been an interesting school!
  2. I think that's a good point. If you can afford a 'posh' hotel, then you shouldn't try and drive down a boy's price. I'm not saying you should overpay, but nothing wrong with being reasonable. I don't approve of sitting in an expensive hotel room, glorying in having driven the price of a boy down by Bt1,000, or whatever.
  3. Bit cheaper that the Meredien, considerably cheaper than the new Dusit Thani!
  4. Perhaps it was already occupied!
  5. One issue I often have is that a lot of the shops don't specify top, bottom or vers. I'm a top, and bottoms are in the minority in these shops, so it would be good to know from the pics.
  6. Japan is great in that respect. When I first went there, many years ago, the bellman had a long trip to my room with my suitcase. When case delivered, I proffered a tip which he waved away, almost angrily! What a pleasant contrast to the USA , where minimum expected tip seems to have reached 20%! I find it annoying that tips are now expected even in takeaway coffee shops!
  7. I hope you have a great view!
  8. Also true in very prosperous and developed countries!
  9. They do have a lot to dig, and/or pump, but their pollution issues are very serious
  10. As I mentioned earlier, I have a friend in Bangkok, who was a tax lawyer in NY. He says that the double taxation treaties should kick in. He personally has a 'wealthy foreigner ' visa, which means he is not subject to these proposals. He says it's much cheaper than the elite visa.
  11. Distance is interesting. I have a friend, 70, who lives in Cologne. His partner lives in Holland. They have been together 36 years, so it seems to work for them. They meet regular, holiday together regularly, etc. Works for some people.
  12. That seems an excellent reason for disregarding these type of surveys.
  13. Even for Thailand this seems a bit of a farce!
  14. Well, I certainly like visiting Sydney, though living there might be different. Vienna, no thanks, Conservative society, right wing government. Would consider Berlin, interesting, gay friendly, reasonably cheap. Auckland mat be nice, but a bit dull and remote. Odaka!! Weird choice. Concrete jungle. Well, each to his own. Bangkok, anyone?
  15. Thanks. I use some of the Siam Roafs guys, and observe the 'no sex' stipulation, though some are attractive!
  16. Siam Roads guy?
  17. Same issue all over the world. Locals get priced out. In UK we are now seeing large developments where all units are only for rent.
  18. Seems quite clear that something is going on, as the report quite clearly states that misconduct etc, went on, and then recommended reinstatement! Typical Thailand.
  19. Sounds very decorous!
  20. I agree, but I have had the blinds jam!
  21. Sorry for icon read aircon!
