why usd to reais is so weak
babybear2 replied to babybear2's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Well, I happen to live in one of the expensive cities you mentioned Maybe I am just too poor, sigh -
I totally do not understand the motives of these people, why do they have to do this to scare people from sharing stories Vivalocal has 500+ garatos, and some other websites, you can go and contact all of them with your xxx questions

why usd to reais is so weak
babybear2 replied to babybear2's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Exactly, nowadays, the going rate is 150 + 50 tips, roughly equal to 40 USD I would not call this super expensive, but it is definitely not cheap either -
why usd to reais is so weak

Brazil is a expensive country except the sauna -
I took a look at USD to reais rate when preparing for next trip to brazil, and found usd to reais dropped so much over the past few months from 5.6 to 4.7 Is there a way for us to hedge reais while the rate is favorable?

COVID Testing In Brazil
babybear2 replied to wncdemcub's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
(1) clock starts at first part of the flight (2) Not needed (3) I did, it is very fast, 15 min line, no booking needed, and turn around time is 3-4 hours to get results. But you have to go to the airport the day before your flight, as your do not want to arrive 6 hours in advance just to do the testing. I am shocked the US testing requirement has not dropped, there is no point in testing anymore -
I do not carry bills for my trip, carry one debit card without conversion fee is a lot easier. And I doubt you can convert US bill easily in Brazil You can get 500 - 1000R everytime you go to banks like Santander, Itau

Colombia: full list of hot spots
babybear2 replied to Tartegogo's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
what, BiLatinMen performers are based on Colombia? I thought most of them are from Mexico, lol -
I have made my Brazil trip encouraged by all the great posts. Wondering can anyone share the latest info on Mexico? Is it possible to meet men like actors in BiLatinMen in Mexico city? As far as I know, there is no sauna like 117, Lagoa etc in Mexico, so maybe it is hard to meet offline?

it is called wholesale service fee, around 10% of the money you withdraw. Bank will not reimburse this type of fees -
How to Carry Cash to Brazil?
babybear2 replied to Jake's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Be careful not to use Bradeso bank nor Banco 24hours, they have a shocking high service fee as much as 13% I normally use Santander or Itau bank ATM in brazil, the conversion rate is pretty great and 20 Reals service fee -
I went to brazil Feb 2021, and after almost a year, I took another trip in Jan 2022. Things are pretty different this time. (1) most stores/restaurants/malls are opened with no restrictions, while it is like half of them are closed last time (2) sauna is a lot more packed, it is pretty busy almost every night, both in Sao Paulo and Rio. I met a few new faces I like. In the same time, all the regular ones I saw in 2020, still work in the sauna. The average turn over rate for some boys must be > 3 years I think (3) I also went to Salvaor, but did not really enjoy it that much. Salvador feels like a forgotten city, with many abandoned residential buildings near tourist zone and other places. And the beach is pretty small (the one with a lighthouse). The sauna boys are also a lot less, none of them are particularly hot. This is only my personal impression of the city after 3 days there (4) Inflation is really high in Brazil. The mid-end restaurants I go to, 2 people meals, can easier go > 200R. Same for grocery store, > 100R with only a few items. I have no idea how normal Brazilian can handle this type of price. (5) Sauna fees did not change though, same as 2020 (6) do not count on doing your Covid test at local drug stores, all slots are booked up a week in advance. I did mine in Sao Paulo GRU airport.
