anyone up for party together in Dec 2017 in RIO?
Tomcal replied to young11's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
I think that the "problem" is that you don't know the other participants, having met over 100+ americans in visiting Brazil over the past 16 years I can count on two hands with a few fingers left over who I would want to hang with for any length of time( and I am sure many feel the same way about me) I am not saying they are bad guys, just not someone you would want to socialize with just because both of you hire in Brazil! everyone is different and has different standards/likes/types. not to mention everyone is into different things they may not want you to know....i.e. domination/watersports/accessories/etc.. now if you have a friend or two that would like to do this with you different story, but I think your odds of getting a group of americans not to mention garotos to go along are slim to none! I put together my 5 roommates in Rio with input from them finding guys that both of us like and over the last 3 years with some minor adjustments has worked out well. several times we have had new guys stay over but they just didn't work out like the core group. Also your chances go up iexponentiallyf you are a regular visitor and the guys here get to know you! It sounds like this is only your 2nd trip here. -
Bobbalino great guess!! but wrong! not even close! It involves no mergers/marriages/manipulations! lol Last night I went to Pointe since MM is going thru their issues and thought that since Monday right now it is the only game in town and it was pretty good! I got their at 5:30 and not a lot of people, but by 7:30 it was fairly packed. I ran into a guy who was the first guy I ever did at MM when they opened in 2007, he is now 28 and is really handsome with a great body! we went up to a room and had a great time. There was a cute Venezuelan guy who is the message guy there who was at Lagoa in Sao Paulo a year ago. Not only cute about 24 but gives a great massage and they offer 8 different kinds, not sure which one I got but if obviously included him playing with my dick! I was just about to leave as the 3 guys that are at the apartment and I were going out to dinner with Acir, the owner of MM when I ran into this sexy muscular guy that was from S.P. A year ago he had taken a trip with a client to Rio and our group of 5 ran into them at ToNeiAi and afterwards he ditched his client and came to the apartment with us! At ToNemAi He originally yelled out Tom, and I had no idea who he was but then he told me that we had never officially me but he has seen me at Lagoa and knew who I was from his friends. Anyhow he tried to talk me into going up to a room with him(he almost convinced me as he kisses amazingly well and as I kept saying no I have to go he kept kissing me more and more passionately!)but I really had to leave but I told him I would see him Wednesday! We all met for dinner and the 3rs guy in our group drove up from S.P. in his new car as he is doing Uber now and today the 4th guy from Belo Horzonte is getting here. Then we have the original crew all together for the last 3 days in Rio! I had keys made for the apt so each of the guys can come and go and I don't have to be here to let them in! I don't recommend doing this with sauna guys! but these 4 have proven their trust in them is well placed and we have almost 14 trips in the last 3 years together and there has never been a problem! Thursday night one of the boys is making a 4 course dinner for all of us, he is a chef and last trip he did that and it was really amazing. he did a standing crowned pork roast with all the side dishes. it took him about 4 hours! tonight I am going to 117 so hopefully it will be good!

Cany you just have to pull the plug and do it!! It is so much easier then when I stared coming in 2001 and no cell phones/gps etc! I remember looking for the street Rogers sauna was on(rip) and it turned out it is only a block long street across the street from present day Pointe202

I am in a different apt then the last 5 years as the owner is here from London, it is only 1 block from the other one but the apt is not near as nice, although it does have 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. I met two of the 4 guys that are staying here with me last night and tonight the other two arrive. I went to 117 last night and it was ok , maybe 20 -25 working guys(only a couple my type) and I left at *;00 because I was meeting the two guys for dinner. tonight I am going to Pointe, since they are the only game in town on Monday nights.........at least this week..could be a big game changer happening but I am sworn to secrecy until the deal happens, but could happen by tomorrow!
-
yes you have "met" in the biblical sense but I am sure you don't remember, it was when we were there over a year ago
-
ThNks Rob! I got to lagoa at 4:40 tonight and was the last customer to leave at 12:30am! And they had to get us out of a room! Lol great night great guys. Rob, met a guy (boy) who knows you and he is coming to merida in January!

I left last Thursday to Brazil, and I took a flight I really don't like but it was the one that worked logistically...I thought! I took the LAX to GRU direct flight (12-1/2 hrs. ugh) and we ended up boarding on time but sat on the runway for over an hour and landed in Sao Paulo and hour and 15 mins late! which means I missed my connection to Belo Horzonte, but anticipating a possible problem I had bought the changeable ticket on GOL airlines so I went to their counter and they said that their 3:30 flight was booked full, so then I asked about flying out of CGH the city airport and the girl said Yes they have a flight at 1:15 and the shuttle bus is free between the two airports, it was now 10:15 so I took that option. it is a 1:15 bus ride to the city airport, and I was really tired but the ride was comfortable. when I got to CGH I went to the counter it was now almost noon, and the girl at the desk says " the gate is just closed you have to go on a later flight!' I go "what? it isn't leaving for over a hour from now!" she goes " no it is leaving at 12:10" the agent at Gru at looked at the wrong time!! so I asked her what was available and she says " our 3:00 flight is sold out but I can put you on the 6:30 flight"! that means I wouldn't have gotten to the sauna until after 9:00pm so I said forget it and I canceled BH and am spending the weekend here in SP and flying to Rio on Sunday(which is a whole nother story, as I then had to change my routing and that was a night mare but it's done! . I get to Lagoa about 6:00 pm last night and it was already pretty full. as I sat at the bar there was one guy who was standing against the wall who was playing with his "fucking enormous dick"! and he was handsome! nicely toned muscled but not steroid body. Rodolfo who owns Lagoa came over and said Hi and I asked him about the guy and he gave the thumbs up. We went up to a room and he was Great. I am seeing him again tonight. after we got done I was back in the bar area when 23 yr old 1/2 Italian 1/2 black guy came up and started talking to me and he show his dick, which was a match to the' first guys! then a guy I have known for a couple of years came over and his dick was also comparable so the 3 of us went up to a room, me and 20 " of dick, I might add, really thick dicks! so I asked who is bttming of the two of them and they both laughed and the guy I had known said he would. we laughed and had a lot of fun, both really great guys! One thing about Lagoa is that the crowd stays later there then the Rio or Porto Alegre saunas! It was now about 10:30 ( I usually leave the rio saunas around 9:00) and the 1/2 Ital 1/2 black guy came over and sat down and his enormous dick was hard again and he says lets go up again! I told him I liked the idea but wanted to get something to eat, so we ordered sandwiches and he kept kissing me and he is a amazing kisser! so I go to get a key for a room and a blonde athletic guy stops me, really handsome and says "lets go to a room". I was with my friend and told him " no just the two of us are going up! He says"can't I join you?" and I said no and we started down the hell and the guy was with says "i really want fuck him and he will bottom"! so...we went back and got him and took him up with us! at this point I hadn't slept in about 36 hours so I got back to the hotel at midnight and crashed! and that was my first night in Brazil this trip!

guys it's the same building just the address is for the street around the corner because that is technicually the address for the 2/3 of the existing building they still occupy! the landlord for the part of the building that contains the reception, boys lockers, showers and sauna and I believe the downstairs tv room and client lockers was lost. the landlord wanted 3 x what they had been paying. so they are back in operation....with one bathroom no showers but have the 2nd and third floors and bar and rooms. they are looking at remodeling if clients hang around, but no showers one bathroom is kind of killer for me. we will see.....

I have at least 40+ times checked my luggage at lagoa for $10R and never a problem! Also, Lucky, you could have cut your transportation costs in 1/2 by using Uber! I have used it exclusively in SP for the past 1-1/2 years. We are all different and Rob is one of my best friends, but I hate Fragata!! Different strokes...
-
Acyr thought they may only be closed a week, infortunately its the week I am there, guess I will invite the guys to the apt!
-
I was informed today that Meo mundo is temporally closed! It may open this next week! I dont have all details but am meeting the owner this Sunday for dinner, it doesn't appear it's voluntary but is temporary...

I would bet none of these where in the tourist zone of Rio! I have gone to Chicago many times for business, never saw or came close to a crime because I don't frequent the areas where the vast majority occurs, same as I do in Rio! No matter where you go, it's about being smart about your surroundings and limiting the chances of something negative happening to you! I also frequented NYC many times in the last 80's and 90's when Hell's Kitchen was the opposite of the upscale area it is now, and never had any problems.

I have never been in one of the free rooms, the ones you pay for are bad enough!

Badboys August 2017 Trip-Recap
Tomcal replied to Badboy81's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
yes they are Cornish game hens, but since they are very small, they call them "baby chickens ! You can get them with 3 different sauces, mild , spicy and Hot..Caliente! its not that hot, but then again I am used to Mexican food! great place to people watch especially the gay bar ToNemAi across the street from the restaurant.(last 2 pics) It is on the corner of R. Farme de Amoedo and R. Visconde de Piraja, 2 blocks in from the gay beach, Posto 9 in Ipanema. -
Thats why for the last 10 years i have stayed in Apts in Rio! No hassles no problems! I love Airbnb!

I agree with OZ i dont think this issue has to be addressed by the admin here, we have a person who does't contribute anything constructive but continually makes negative comments, ignore him! And if he keeps it up then we can try the administrative remedy OZ suggests! i do have him on block so i dont know if he responded(and don't care) i am happy! If i cant see what he writes it is as if he doesn't exist! :-)
-
Thanks he is the first person i have put on the ignore list!

That is obviously you Kevin! Since your sole purpose on this board seems to be to critique motive, purpose, ridicule the poster, , etc. rather then provide information relative to the topic(s) being discussed! Looking at your posts there seems to be a at the best making fun of the poster to at the worse just being a ass! You try to disguise your petty bullying by putting "LOL" frequently at the end of your posts, its not working! We have had your type posters before on here! Never contributing anything worthwhile but quick to crave attention by critising the posts of others! Either way your contributions are minimal and you are more a troll then a comtributor since you started posting, IMO!

a few examples of Colonial homes in my neighborhood that have been restored. the floors are pasta tiles unique to the Yucatan area and they lay patterns so it looks like each room has area rugs but are really tiles.

For sone of you who messaged me here is some info: Mérida has one of the largest centro/ histórico-districts in the Americas (surpassed only by Mexico City and Havana, Cuba). Colonial homes line the city streets to this day, in various states of disrepair and renovation; the historical center of Mérida is currently undergoing a minor renaissance as more and more people are moving into the old buildings and reviving their former glory. This is being done primarily by Americans and Canadians because as one Mexican friend said to me " we don't want to live downtown where my grandparents lived! We want to live in the suburbs in new homes." Mérida has a centro/ histórico typical of colonial Spanish cities. The street grid is based on odd-numbered streets running east/west and even-numbered streets running north/south, with Calles 60 and 61 bounding the "Plaza Grande" in the heart of the city. The more affluent neighborhoods are located to the north and the most densely and less affluent populated areas are to the south. The Centro Histórico area is becoming increasingly popular with Americans, Canadians and other expats who are rescuing and restoring the classic colonial structures. The Los Angeles Times recently noted this surge of interest in rescuing Mérida's historic downtown.[4]. Mérida's Centro, or historic core, has an enormous stock of Spanish colonial buildings, in a kaleidoscope of sherbet-hued orange, red, green, and pale blue. Many of these homes are in total disrepair—more than a few have trees sprouting in their living rooms and facades crumbling into the streets—but a growing number are being lovingly maintained or refurbished by Mexicans and expats alike, who find in the bones of the city a canvas for their architectural fantasies. For those used to cutthroat markets in Miami or New York, the prices are literally unbelievable: A two-bedroom in need of a serious refurb, $25,000. A fixer-upper with room to add an in-ground pool, $115,000. A fully restored two-bedroom with a plunge pool and two-and-a-half baths, $160,000.(personally i didn't find anything that i liked in this price range) I am not one to work hard at resoring so i bought a home that had only the outside walls remaining 7 years ago and was completely restored with original tile work, beams etc., but with stainless steel appliances in the kitchen and a pool and solar! The photos below are reprentative of the archeticure you will find-3rd pic is the college two blocks from my house

Lurker, most nights its not open but the stairway going up to the bathrooms is how you access it! Also i believe they rent it for private parties.
-
I agree with Bobbalino re: ToNemAi's drink prices(about the same as drink prices in Weho Gay bars) but it is a gay bar a 2 blocks off the beach in Ipanema usually packed on Weds. to Sun. nights after 9;00 and I have picked up a number of guys there... here is the FB page for it.https://www.facebook.com/tonemairestaurante/

Those closing costs are mostly fixed costs so if your buying a $250,000 or a $350,000. House your closing costs are not going to be a lot different, maybe a $1,000.
-
No that is not true ! Ojibear said "a small condo in his city would be $180,000."For that price in merida you could have a Home/single family residence! not a condo! but if you choose a condo it would be larger and nicer ghen what you could get in Canada, which i would guess is the reason so many Canadians have winter homes here. One thing about Mexican real estate is their are no mortgages for foreigers, so you have to pay all cash and closing costs are around $12,000.+US

http://yucatanexpatlife.com/u-s-realtors-recommend-merida-expats/. The one error is were he says "the average price of a home is $125,000.US. Not in the area were most of the expats live which is Centro! I doubt anyone reading this would be pleased with that price home there! I would guess the minimun price would be closer to $250,000.US and i saw some around that price that were nice.
