I find this hard to believe. Polite Thais generally don't point and they certainly wouldn't in an enclosed place where their actions would easily be visible and scrutinised. They wouldn't want to attract attention to themselves in an environment where people generally behave. If they're middle or upper-middle class, they would have mastered the art of seeing but not looking (which is a different skill from looking but not seeing, which they're also great at). A quick once over maybe, a glance, a smirk possibly or a disapproving glare but not pointing and laughing. If they're upper class they wouldn't even look at you.

Funny you say this. About two weeks ago my buddies and I were seated at Telephone and we could see the comings and goings at Jupiter, so to speak. I noticed one tall, dark and handsome guy coming out with this corpulent and slightly limping China guy (probably limping because of his weight) and within half an hour, perhaps less, the tall, dark and handsome guy was already walking back to his bar. I noticed this coz I was still having the same drink and I don't sit on my drinks. What's up with that? How short is short time? By the way, people who say that the boys from the "big bars" like Jupiter, Moonlight and Dreamboys are not being "offed" are lying. We saw plenty of "offs" as were seating in or near those bars.

Agreed. I never felt in danger the two nights I was there last year and I stayed out till pretty late (around 2 am). As my platoon sergeant used to say, fear the living, not the dead.

We went to Moonlight two weekends ago. Fluke and Tam were there, Babe wasn't. They were all short (I'm 175 cm tall and they were all shorter than me, despite being in boots). Show was so-so; they kept it brief which was good. Fluke gave the sexiest shower show that I had ever seen; I hadn't seen that many but his was pretty sensuous and had a rhythm to it. What I like about Fluke and Tam is that they bothered to build up their lower bodies so as not to look ridiculous in trunks or shorts. Neither particularly appealed to me but if you asked me to pick I would pick Fluke - more interesting face and seemed to have a lively personality. We should have invited him over for a drink come to think of it. Bar wasn't that busy. You had to buy a 400Bt ticket at the door which gets you one drink. Second drink is 300Bt if I'm not mistaken. Service was good; servers were polite and the compere greeted us as we entered. The older ladyboy mamasan with the long hair came over a few times asking us to "off" a boy or get one to sit with us but a simple "yang" (not yet) and she left us alone. By no means was she pushy. I liked this bar but the selection of boys could have been better but maybe they had all been "offed" earlier as we went at 11-ish.

Whether it's regaling us with explicit tales of their geronto-porn escapades, or dressing extremely inappropriately at night spots (there was a 60something farang who wore a sleeveless cut-out shirt showing off his manboobs and grossly overgrown underarm hair at DJ two weekends ago) or butting in on conversations which they're not a part of, it's probably part of the continuum of the "social rules no longer applying to them when in Thailand" kind of thinking. After all, if they can get a cute or hunky 20-year-old to sleep with them for a couple of thousand Baht and a steak at Sizzlers, or even enter into some kind of make-believe relationship, then anything is possible.

vinapu, I agree with - I think - your general sentiment that we should go and do what pleases us and try to have a good time. But can anything be "analysed to death" on this forum where the same venues (and guys!) are visited again and again? Nothing wrong with that but, in my opinion, putting through these shared experiences through different cultural prisms and personal lenses can bring about interesting and new perspectives.

Sorry, I don't mean to catch you, spoon, but can you provide examples of some of the modelling or acting work that these guys have done? I don't mean underwear show nights at clubs and body beautiful contests but runway, photographic or TV gigs? I think the 'model' moniker comes from their experiences in underwear/fitness modelling, photo shoots in naughty mags or poolside fashion shows for the ladies-who-lunch. Not to be scoffed at as these guys are hot with impressive packages and they can make decent money from these kinds of gigs. And if a khunying or thanpuying fancies them, doors can open in more ways than one. OR the model tag could just be a branding and marketing tactic by the bar to charge higher prices for their hotter boys But it's not what industry watchers would call real modelling. Unlike farangs in Pattaya, real Thai models wouldn't be caught dead in a brothel. You might see them at RCA and rooftop bars with the other beautiful people, or as a guest paid to market a particular product at certain clubs. As a kept hoe to a MR maybe but they would never sell their asses in public like that.

You know how we always think we know everything about our favourite movie stars based on their performances and the gossip surrounding their personal lives but we don't because what we think we know are only their public personas. It's the same with these guys; you only see them for a few hours performing either on stage or in your bedroom. Like you and I, they have lives outside of work, which we may know very little of and can only speculate about. My guess is they have pretty mundane lives like most people; work, study, family, girlfriends, wives, boyfriends, sugar mummies, sugardaddies, gym, hobbies, sport, occasional night out with friends, travelling. Any of these factors could affect the frequency of their appearances. I have a feeling that these guys are not financially desperate and come to work occasionally not out of need but possibly out of boredom and to supplement an already steady source of income. Besides, if they're already getting so much at one go, they can afford to work only when they want to and even pick their customers. Capitalism at its best.

He looks southern Thai to me; I've met many guys from Songkhla with similar features. Nepalese, like Thais, come in a variety of looks, shapes and sizes. Some look Western Chinese, others look Malay, some have unique Mongolian features and many look Indian. Some of the Gurkhas in Sg look really ripped and brutal. Most are quite short, at least the ones that I've met. Mr Tsurap must have some money if he is studying at Bangkok University, a private institution. While not as expensive as AU where many of the rich and beautiful go, tuition at BU is not cheap. As an international student he gets a student visa which means he can stay long term and work on the side without having too worry about his residency status.

My partner and I were there for three nights last year. Spacious rooms decorated with Thai-style teak furniture. Big bathrooms. Breakfast was good with a fair variety of items. Lobby was on the first floor. Staff were professional and responsive but I wouldn't say they were particularly warm even though I spoke Thai throughout. Usually when you speak Thai staff tend to joke and flirt with you. Quiet rooftop pool that opens till late which can be very convenient for a few relaxing laps before dinner after a long day of walking and shopping. Good price for the location. More of a boutique hotel for couples, families and business executives. Sorry, can't help you with the joiner question as we didn't have any but it did strike me as a place where overt raunchiness wouldn't be appreciated although we did get away with some hanky panky in the pool under the moonlight.

Yeah, but what does it verify other than identity ie you are the person in those pics? So basically they will look at the face. What if the person uses old pics of himself with a good body against a "current" selfie video where he still looks like the guy in the pics but has gained a few kilos? Will they call him out for that? I have my doubts. And what if the pics (and the selfie video used for verification) were posted six months ago? A lot can happen in six months; put on a few kilos and no gym and washboard abs can disappear, pecs can become droopy, butts can drop. IMHO, real-time video calls are the best coz you get to see what they look like NOW. Moreover, you get to hear the other person's voice and maybe even detect any "off" mannerisms, bad teeth, etc (depending on what you're looking for).

mynakedtop, I'm a little surprised by this. You seem like a savvy, clued-in kind of guy - why aren't you using Snapchat, FaceTime, Whatsapp or Line video call to verify your guests? And they can verify you too if they wish. Whoever trades pics anymore. I don't do hook-ups as I'm happily attached but my friends who do would insist on real-time video verification or at the very least swapping of Insta accounts prior to meeting. Some would even insist on verification prior to chatting especially if the potential date's pics look too good to be true.
