It depends...some of the guys don't care....some definitely will not let you do it... When I first started traveling to Rio....I would take pics of guys in the hallway with no problem, now most of the pics I take are in the private rooms and not all of them are okay with it.... I don't have any experience with how much guys pay...It's not something that I require since I don't care but I thought it was almost always included with the standard fee....

Great info....can you give some details about Carnival....that is the one time of the year I havent been to Rio but planning on it next year.... As far as the saunas....I prefer the rentboy saunas because the guys there tend to be very hot but I can imagine during Carnival that the other saunas become packed.... Check out Sexy Rose as well....Off Cinelinda not too far from Lapa....

Was able to find a reasonable ticket from Atl to GIG....trip is planned for March 2016... Can not wait... Will give updates and post pics of the trip to Rio early April.... Any questions or suggestions up until then are welcome....

Rates are going to vary based on how well you negotiate, how attractive you are and how attractive the guy is...also how in demand he is...also which sauna you are at.... The average seems to be somewhere between $100 and $150R.... I never pay over $100R and on my last trip for New Years, I paid, $80R, $90R, free and I may have given one guy $100....

Do you speak any Portuguese? If you do you will be able to engage with other Brazilians online like A4A or possibly some sites that cater to Brazilians.... Brazil is different from a lot of other countries where you will have no problems meeting guys while you are there...friends on the other hard, not so much unless you speak the language or you meet a Brazilian that speaks English... Based on your question, I strongly recommend you educate yourself with the country, the culture and the people prior to your trip... Based on what you are into, you will have no problems in the saunas....the streets/beaches are a different story if you don't speak the language Have a great time....

The last time I visited there was a male brothel not far from the Conde area where many of the boys available for rent tend to hang out since that is where the majority of American tourists looking for them are..... Try A4A...there are tons of boys in DR online and even though it is a third world country/island, you may do well with some of the guys online, depending on how you look... It also depends on what your standards are...when I first started traveling to DR, I found some very attractive, muscular, fit boys available for pay for play....in the city as well as Boca Chica, a local beach that many boys will be on if the weather is good, etc. My last trip I had a live in boyfriend and did not see very many attractive boys available....not to say there are not some very attractive middle class Dominican boys who will hang out with you just for a drink or whatever you are doing for your visit....I did not pay the guy that I hung out with at all but it was understood I handled the drinks, clubs entrance fees, etc. and he got us great deals at the beach, clubs, hung out with some upper and middle class Dominicans and had a great time overall.. I have had some great times in DR but my last trip would be my last for a while....it seems that there had been no changes in the ten plus years I have been visiting the island...Although if you are into sexy guys who look mixed with great bodies, you will be fine.... Go during major US holidays as well as any holidays for the country....definitely stay near the Conde and check out Boca Chica.... Learn a little Spanish as well....it will get you a lot further... Be careful because as it is a very poor country, you will have people trying to get your money all over the place... Not sure if the male brothel is still open...

All good just noticed you asked a lot of repetitive questions and should take in mind your experience with be yours and will differ from Tomcals...mine or anyone elses based on what you are looking for...like....who you are as a person...etc... True there are manyyyy different forms of research but asking the same questions that have been answered over and over again....Thank God for the patience od others and the great humor of Tomcal....he is definitely more friendly than I... Maybe you should hire Tomcal to plan your trip for you and reserve an apartment for you....that may be easiest for you since you seem to not have researched anything or don't want to make a decision based on your own research... A few questions is common if things haven't been answered but seriously...I think he may have actually planned out your whole trip for you.... Tomcal...I see a side hustle for you to make extra $$$ for the garotos!!!

Depends on what is going on....seasonal events....what nights are currently free where... I can tell you from within the last month... MM on Monday was the BEST!!! 117 is always consistent...they have the largest selection...usually the most guys there Pointe...good looking guys....good mix....can be hit or miss.....

There is not a large cruising scene in Rio since the saunas take care of all of that and unless you are attractive based on Brazilian gay standards, you will NOT be hit on in the streets or receive welcome glances back...even in the gay areas.... Try Sexy Rose...that is like a standard sleazy bookstore where you will find locals....you can find it easily in Rio and just google the address Just some advice....there are places where younger, attractive guys go and hang out where I did not see a lot of the older gents that I saw in the saunas and vice versa....the barbie looking guys from the beaches will not be in the saunas where the rent boys are UNLESS they are working there

It sounds like you want to hire a companion versus a guide...in 2016, there is no need to hire a guide because you can research and find info about any and everything on the internet and the metro and taxis are very efficient in Rio... Good luck....

I strongly suggest Casa Conde Hotel Boutique.... Calle el Conde # 511 Santo Domingo Distrito Nacional 10210 Dominican Republic 1-866-599-6674 Excellent location, on the conde, the main strip in the tourist area....secure, they have a security door, the owner speaks excellent English from living in the states and you can have guests...I had a Dominican guest for my entire stay and was not charged extra It's newer as well, very nicely decorated and affordable....definitely check around for other hotels but this one as far as location and cleanliness can't be beat compared to some of the other hotels.... I was told to check out the Roma hotels and went to both of them and did not like either of them....to me, they were old and outdated and not kept up at all...A friend of mine told me that one location was robbed with the guests in the lobby as well as the hotel front desk robbed....

The apartment is in Copacabana, you will be fine. location is central to the beach and you can walk to Ipanema, you are in the heart of the tourist area.... I strongly suggest renting a hotel for your first trip since you speak no Portuguese and hotel staff can give you suggestions, schedule tours, etc. Based on your questions, you may be better off starting off with a hotel so that you can learn your way around Rio and then book an apartment next trip... I personally prefer hotels for the breakfast, security, staff to clean after me, etc....I have never had a problem with having a guest come back with me but don't do that often anyways....you can have all the fun you want in the saunas... Just some feedback based on your slew of questions and uncertainty about a hotel versus an apartment....

I think you are a confirmed VIP....you get away and do more than the majority of us based on your reputation....SMILE I also don't do a lot of lounging around the saunas outside of looking for prey.....

What is the ideal time frame for a visist? 6 days would be plenty to enjoy what Rio has to offer especially if you have been before

You should try the Sexy Rose....Its a local spot where you pay to get in and you will meet tons of locals....based on your hypothetical question, you can do that there with no issues.... As far as in the saunas...never seen any public PDA aside from leg massaging, back rubbing and the occasional kiss.....

I think there are some definitely dumb questions....especially questions that nobody would be able to answer except the person he is trying to sleep with... No one person has the same experience in Rio, the saunas, etc... My experiences are completely different from yours BUT I do read what you post and take things that are useful into consideration.... The guy with these questions does not seem to being adequate research...
