I do that too, but i also use ratings and reviews to set my priorities. When travelling, i usually dont like a strict schedule, but like to go with the flow, but i also have lists of places i want to go to arranged in an order of the most to the least places i wanted to go, grouped by locations. This is only true for first time visit, where i usually want to visit all the places that is recommended as much as possible and im usually flushed with choices with not much time. On the other hand, if its my second or subsequent visits, and if i stay much longer than 3-4 days, i would like to go to places that are more unique and tailored to what i really want to see and maybe just wander around looking for places to watch sunrise/sunset, or restaurant to chills, or off beaten places not usually frequented by tourists. I guess its really depends on my mood lol

Grab taxi charges are higher than normal taxi in bangkok. Ive been using both to travel from my hotel to silom soi6, and its about 80-90 baht for grab and 60 for metered taxi. But only use metered taxi if u know the road, since some driver are pretty much useless with their directions. On the other hand, regardless of where the grab driver mistakenly took wrong roads, the fare will be fixed.

Its not just thailand but almost all countries have custom declarations rules for money, mostly equivalent to us10k, anything more, then you will have to declare on how you procure such money and why are u bringing it to that country etc. Again, if u didnt do anything illegal, its just more paperwork but it's necessary to deter illegal money laundering cases which usually involved several other crimes as well. And if he thinks of bringing that much money, and get away without bribing, he is kidding himself. The custome might have already reported what the amount of money in dolar, so bribery must not be from the reported amount i guess?

Why would anyone brings that amount of cash around baffles me unless he is involved in something illegal. Serve him right then, no one shouldve help him out, not even other farang friends let alone the poor boy.

But for those for the first time visiting, or have a very short time in bkk, they would want to visit a bar that is tried and tested highly recommended bars, and avoid bad ratings or mixed review or uncertain new bars.

For every bad things u say about a race or a religion, same things can be said by their counterparts about your own race and your own religion. And I believe the same can be said for good things too. Like i said, some pictures are exactly recent some maybe few years old some had been photoshopped. So i tried to do some excel spreadsheets comparing some costs of services between kuala lumpur vs bangkok tailored to my own habit. It includes massages cost as well, with a minimum and maximum for each category (normal massage, gay massage, money boy (little or no massage in kl vs gogo boy in bkk). For massages, its further divided into time spent, 60-90-120min. Without even considering hotel costs and air travel, it seems like there is two categories where its cheaper for me to do in bkk compare with in kl, one is the normal massage prices, where its slightly cheaper. However for gay massages, for 60min duration, its about the same, anything longer, its cheaper here. For moneyboy, gogobar, i include at least the price of off fee and tips for st and lt, where in kl, there is no off fee, its cheaper to get in kl vs bkk, but for lt, or overnight, bkk wins by a lot. Anyway, as i mentioned before, quality and quantity of offable boys or muscular masseurs in bkk far surpass what kl have to offer. Another thing to mention, for gay massage, i used arena for minimum, senso for maximum. Similarly in kl, i use the cheapest male massage center and the trendiest one, which is still not up to senso standard ( massage on table vs king size bed). Eitherway, itll never be apple to apple comparison, so why not have both of the goods haha. Also worth to mention, aside from normal massage, everything else is illegal here.

Could it be because of the time difference which is around 12-14 hours with the US? Which means, for your night activities, its actually lunch hour back at home, so staying awake shouldnt be a problem.
