There is also a chance that they don't particularly like the idea of someone searching for them on FB to make such a request. Could come off as a bit of an invasion of their privacy. -
Jesus even reading this thread is exhausting.

How could United Airlines have screwed up so badly?
emailbroken replied to steveboy's topic in Gay Thailand
Instead of guess work, here's a table showing the list of EU compensation due for delays. It only applies on EU (carriers or on flights departing or arriving in the EU. Hopefully it will help someone when they need it. (sorry about the ugly layout). HOW MUCH YOU'RE ENTITLED TO IF YOUR FLIGHT IS DELAYED Delay to your arrival Flight distance Amount of compensation At least three hours Less than 1,500km €250 Between 1,500km and 3,500km €400 More than 1,500km and within the EU €400 Three to four hours More than 3,500km, between an EU and non-EU airport €300 At least four hours More than 3,500km, between an EU and non-EU airport €600 Read more: http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/holidays/article-2271213/How-claim-EU-flight-delay-compensation-EC-261-2004.html#ixzz4ehsd88dw Follow us: @MailOnline on Twitter | DailyMail on Facebook -
Someone can be a member for ten minutes and have something worthwhile to say or a valid question to ask. Equally people who have been here years can be wrong. Not sure why you're so fixated with how long people have been here on the rather frequent occasions that you disagree with a post.

How could United Airlines have screwed up so badly?
emailbroken replied to steveboy's topic in Gay Thailand
That's the key point I think. Would be very interesting to have an expert give a best guess to the financial settlement the passenger is likely to receive, plus some financial impact on United's reputation. I think this will be used in PR text books for a long time to come! -

Actually, most see the EU provisions as being somewhat better than those in the US. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/smartertravel/a-guide-to-air-passenger_b_4017963.html Highlighting the cash settlements for info, which apply to flights on European airlines or flights heading to or from the EU (plus Norway and Switzerland) EUR 250 for all flights of 1500 kilometres or less: EUR 400 for all intra-Community flights of more than 1500 kilometres, and for all other flights between 1500 and 3500 kilometres EUR 600 for all other flights. Airlines in the US and Europe do not "constantly overbook and bump passengers". If that were the case it wouldn't be a financially viable solution for them. They play the numbers game and normally get away with it. For me with about 60 international flights a year I average about three bumps. -

A very serious incident mishandled at every stage by the airline, including the apology. Makes you realise how lucky we are in Europe to have pretty strong rules on oversold flights and disruption to passengers. A good example of what EU red tape actually achieves. -
Customs search finding convo about boys & sex

It would probably depend on what you were getting up to (legal or illegal) and which country you were returning to. -
Can anyone explain why you'd take that rather expensive retirement visa as opposed to just crossing the border every three months and coming back? I have twenty years to figure it out, but if anyone knows do tell.
-
Possibly but there's plenty of them.

You get the impression that the military govt has decided to have a push on road safety. I suppose that it is tough for them to deliver on things like the economy and other issues, but maybe this area is seen as low hanging fruit. I've seen more traffic stops in recent visits but it will be interesting to see if the safety push has any impact on fatalities. -
I guess you have to strike a balance between working your budget and not being mean. I think it is probably unlikely any guy would perform well if things start out with haggling over not very large sums of money. Similarly I'd be pretty turned off by quotes of outlandish prices. Just kills any kind of mood.

Yep and its not just confined to the bars. Markets are doing the same thing seeming to bet that if they quote outrageous prices one tourist will bite. Got to the stage that I don't even bother looking anymore. At the markets that is!

Enjoy your trip and spare yourself trying to finish a report with your ipad. Everyone will be happy to get it whenever you have time.

You're right. Nice to see we're not one dimensional after all

I bet many of us are a bit jealous that you have the anticipation and the sensual onslaught of visiting for the first time. You'll get a lot of great info here. Do remember to come back and share what you learn.

Bangkok/Yangon/Bagan/Mandalay Trip Report: Playing With Fire
emailbroken replied to numazu's topic in Gay Thailand
Not really a victory or loss for anyone. I think the intention was to speak up on behalf of the guys in the photos. But if you want to see it in terms of winning or losing, personally, I'd rather than the story stop and the guy's privacy be protected. It would be sad if the posts were only to continue in response to an everlasting flow of adulation and that a constructive criticism here were the reason for the pause in the story. I'd hope that here and in Thailand we try to be smart about working guys' privacy. I think many or probably most on the board see these guys as more than just products for our gratification. This whole thing now seems to be going round in circles so I'm going to try to resist the urge to get involved again. -
Really important to hear stories like this one I think. Thanks for sharing it.

There was never an allegation of violations, just a suggestion that we need to afford people the same privacy we'd like to enjoy. Not a question of board rules but more of general thoughtfulness and consideration. -

Thanks for the info. Have to say I'm fond of the place. Not sure I'd stay in it ahead of demolition. Would suspect place might not be well maintained.

Good suggestions I think. But many here suggest that much will come down to the rapport between you and the masseur you pick. -

Good to see you are back. You shouldn't really interpret criticism as hate. Pretty much everyone has said that your posts are enjoyable.
