Very interesting to read how the captain "Ti" handled the claim from the angry customer. I find him a very shrewd operator who once spotted the error on my bill and gave me the money back. It's fascinating to watch how he interacts with customers, sometimes relentless to pursue offs, controlling Jupiterl boys with an iron fist. Haha

Great description about new Jupiter2018.Further to your comment, half length of a model runway has a clear glass floor and there is water underneath. It reflects the great lighting and looks beautiful. Looking forward to reading about your another Jupiter boy adventure. I am imaging a Korean boy to be #11. lol Out of 250B boy drink, a boy receives 150B which is very generous considering Tawan only gives 50B out of 400B. It actually makes sense to buy a boy drinks in here.

Compare to mini vans, Tuk Tuks are almost harmless.

To clarify for the Bangkok newbies, I quoted Lady Caroline Lamb's words to describe Lord Byron " Mad, Bad and Dagerous to know" in relation to Bangkok because of the city's addictive allure and chaotic beauty. I didn't mean to say that Bangkok is particularly bad or dangerous city to visit as a tourist.

Agree with Vinapu. The fact is that no self respecting tourist would leave Thailand without riding on Tuk Tuk. lol Judging by the tour name, he is using a popular night tour of Tuk Tuk experience. For me, Tuk Tuk epitomises Bangkok - Mad, Bad and Dangerous!

Ryanasia, you lived in Japan for 6 years but you went there as an adult whereas a447a was growing up there as an impressionable high school student if I recall correctly. That's a huge difference. You probably interacted with Japanese as a foreigner and your Japanese friends treated you accordingly whereas a447a was among inner circle of Japanese school friends.

According to Japanese culture, people are supposed to understand each other's feelings without verbally explaining everything in black and white especially between friends, family and lovers. The one cannot read the other persons' feeling from their slight gestures, facial expressions or nuance are considered insensitive and obtuse. This is one of the reason marriages between Japanese and Westners fails.

Talad Rot Fai Ratchada? Back of Esplanade shopping mall. Yes I have been a few times. If you like street foods, you'll love there. My favourite is salt grilled fish. It's mainly street food and bars with live bands and always packed with young Thais friends and couples. There aren't many farangs but some Asian tourists.

You know Calypso is in Asiatique, right? You can do touristy shopping there before the show. If you are interested in ladyboys, why don't you go to specialised ladyboy go go bar? I think you will have a fun time rather than just watching a lip synch show. "Obsession" at Nana plaza is a ladyboy only bar.

Thailand's roads are hazardous! Only a few days ago, a motorcyclist died in Chidlom near Central Department. I was shocked to see the video as I often pass the road by taxi. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=k4dF8ATMd-Q http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/general/1248883/woman-killed-by-fallen-power-poles-in-chidlom

" TO MY SURPRISE " ??? I am shocked to hear that you managed to spend some after 15 years.

True. At Super Rich Ratchadamri head office, scribbled notes get rejected. After experienced a few rejections, I only brings clean notes from my home country. If you accept lower exchange rate, you can get the same scribbled notes exchanged at Super Rich branches.

I have no idea what is the difference between "Hello wai" and "apologies wai". By Coconuts Bangkok May. 15, 2017 It doesn’t matter in which way they disrespected Thai culture — just that these foreigners were forced to do an apologetic “wai” in the press photos when they were caught. After the public humiliation as a much-photographed public bowing sesh — an act that many vacationing farangs don’t even understand but simply perform because they are told to — the case is closed and everybody leaves satisfied. After a fine of THB500-1,000 is paid, of course. To drive home the country’s culture of public shaming, when those arrested are not Thai, they are often told to do a “wai” as a traditional way to apologize and express regret to the whole of Thailand. Pro farang tip: If you want to go above and beyond, you can also add that you “love Thailand.” Whether they were arrested for simply wearing see-through beachwear or having drunken sex in public, here’s a round-up of farangs doing apologetic wais. https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/going-times-farangs-forced-humiliating-apologetic-wais/
