I'm confused, you sleep one hour a night?
-
You know your right. I'll judge for myself in a few weeks. You know how it is, now that the trip is so soon I can't think of anything else.
-
This is your problem. If no one is complaining why do you raise an issue? Why? Because you're only here to provoke.

I just read a terrible review of G's in a Bangkok restaurant guide: https://bk.asia-city.com/restaurants/bangkok-restaurant-reviews/g%E2%80%99s-bangkok Any opinions?

I learned so much from the "airline strategies" thread that I thought this might yield so very hard to acquire - reality-based -information from those who do it all the time. I face a thirty hour ( door to door ) travel time and a 12 hour time difference. How do you best cope with that? One thing I do is head for Cutey Beauty ( In Bangkok ) for a full treatment from facial to foot massage and then force myself to stay awake until a reasonable ( early say 11 pm) bedtime. But, how to the rest of you treat jet lag?

Middle-aged Asian-American Seeks Platonic Friends

What are you referring to? -
Most likely a short thread as the question is simple. Decades ago the Bangkok bars competed periodically in handsome man contests. One bar hosted, the others sent their contestants, there was food serviced - a party like atmosphere with an actual party in the soi. I haven't heard of this in years. Are they still held?

Thailand has overtaken Russia and India as the most unequal country

The only thing surprising here is that the Russian Oligarchs grip on the economy has slipped a bit. Have they transferred so much out and hidden it that it's no longer possible to assess their real power? -
OK., my friend. That's how now: why?

Paulfort. excellent information. Thanks, I've put it all in google keep. I agree about the Duck curry in Pineapple. But, when you say "brilliant German " is the schnitzel veal?

I have to admit admiration for you guys who remember every tip. drink price, and off fee and who you handed it to. I'm usually concentrating of who is coming with me tonight and if there is a prospect for tomorrow. How do you do it?
-
Well, well, so that's what's been keeping the big tippers here from opening their wallets - they can't use their Ipads. Well, I'll be damned.
-
I tip - the coins are part of the tip - if there are enough coins it's the whole tip - if not I add to it. I'm having a hard time seeing the issue. Paulsf has dealt with the Mamasan issue exactly right.
-
Really? When I read," a mix of twinks and twunks, 1-2 hunks, good mix of ages, decent show" I note a place to visit and see for myself. Put against 1 "pushy mamasan" I see no serious problem at all.
-
Oh! Thanks, I do it all the time I consider it just checking fares.

Some years ago I was often in Toronto and Montreal and had fantastic times. There was a hustler bar in Toronto called sneakers ( closed now I think ) and a hustler stroll a block away. Montreal had any number of places and it's own "stroll". Does anyone have current information?

Don't worry I'm sure you can still get it next year .

Back in the '80s, it was either the Rose of the Suriwongse for me. There is no better location and it's quiet.

Fair enough. Is there a site that reviews such things as food, in-flight service, lost luggage, poor customer service, lack of inter-line agreements ( luggage transfer, etc. ) pitch of seats, the width of seats. etc. I know these things are subjective but so are restaurant reviews.

A Potemkin village. Fancy restaurant, very nice breakfast room, business-like lobby and lousy rooms. By the way, Anddy how is the Ruen Urai food? The hotel breakfast room has excellent food.

I want to thank you for this. It's humbling to find that I never figured out the airline connectivity part of Kayak. This removes my fear of booking on other than airline sites and using this model will, I'm very sure, save me money. Maybe I can get my hotel bills higher than my air!

Sorry, you're right I have not, as yet, been there so I'm sure I'm the one confused. It's that I have never heard the bars in Jomtien described as beer bars. I had the thought, because of that, that they were host bars ( boys are there in abundance but fully dressed and may or may not approach.tghis may be an old understanding from the Saphan Kwai bars of yesteryear ) Now, I'm wondering if they are all beer bars and if so what is the real difference. If any.
