You seem to have had a fairly peripatetic existence as a money boy and yet have successfully gone onto a career that enables you to enjoy holiday time in Thailand and I am hoping that there is a story to be told about how that came about? The guys/LBs and girls of Pattaya know full well that the majority of their customers do not like condoms, even through the customers are prepared to use them. And many of these boys and girls use that to their advantage in a number of ways. Of the many hundreds of girls on Soi 6 for example, I would guess that maybe 50% will offer no condom if they think it will get them a customer or a higher than normal tip, even some of the most popular ones. Others see 'no condom' as an opportunity to lure you into a longer term relationship (albeit still a customer relationship) with you, along with the immortal words 'I only do this for you tirak'. So in most cases, if you want safe sex, the onus is on us, the customer, to ensure that condoms are used. Even though most of us hate the bloody things with a passion! LOL

It would be interesting to know when and why you stopped being a money boy? (Sorry if this has already been asked)

I know that many people now shop for their boys on-line and most are happy with their purchases, But I still prefer to meet someone in a bar over a drink or having a massage and let the old-fashioned two-way vetting process take its course before deciding on taking them to my room. I want to know that there is at least some 'connection' and basically see if they pass my cock hardening (or at least cock thickening) test before I decide. They too have an opportunity to vet me and make their excuses if they do not want to go with me.

Shamelessly I am trawling for recommendations in advance of my next Pattaya holiday, but I also hope that this thread could be of wider interest. I have seen threads on individual bars/agogos across Pattaya but much of their basic information is now quite old and in many I also get no sense of what I might expect from their 'shows'. And anyhow such things can change with any new staff and/or management. My current experience is limited really to BoyzBoyzBoyz and X-Boyz BoyzBoyzBoyz offered an agenda of cock-show events, even encouraging a 'meet and stroke' walk-about the audience at one point. It had a broad spectrum of boys from twinks to hunks who ranged from well-hung to very well-hung. X-Boys was similar but with their 'Special Show' on the 21st having pairs of boys getting, shall we say, very intimately acquainted both on the stage and then around the audience. I went in January - do they still do them? Any advice on other places would be appreciated please and with at least generalized details; is it all dancing or cabaret style for example, or does it get raunchier?

I do walk sometimes, but heat, distance and destination are the determinates here, I am overweight, although not as fat as many, but I can still sweat buckets in the heat and that is not a good look LOL Fine if my destination is my hotel room and its welcoming shower, but obviously not so fine if I have my mongering hat on or plan to go to a bar or agogo. But a light sea breeze of an early evening and a gentle there-and-back-again, window-shopping, walk along Beach Road; perfect.

My hotel is on Soi 6, and I will normally get a baht bus if convenient, but if I want to go LK Metro, or Sunee Plaza, then a motorbike taxi is the way to go for me as they are not on a direct baht bus route. Even though Walking Street/Boyztown is on the baht bus route, traffic is usually so congested on Beach Road in the evenings, especially at weekends, that again a motorbike taxi is by far the quickest option. I do close my eyes at times but the regular taxi boys are usually ok - I tend to pick the older ones when I can. My worst experience on the back of a bike was a ladyboy who said she was too drunk to walk, and promptly fell off the bike as soon as we reached our destination. I was praying to every god I had ever heard of during that journey!

One or two of my Thai friends can be annoying for a very different reason - the constant 'Up to You' response. What would you like to do today? - UTY! Where would you like to eat tonight? - UTY You want to go cinema or go to a show? - UTY Do you want to go for another drink or go back to the hotel? - UTY My LB friend Nicky was the worst for that - 'You the customer' she would say 'always Up to You', - yet at the same time making it very clear if she didn't like my eventual choice. (and yes there were huge compensations with Nicky that far outweighed this). So my question is - where did the balance lie for you between just doing whatever the customer wanted, and expressing your own wishes, particularly when asked. Is the 'Up to You' a peculiarly Thai thing?

Great installment that left me with tears in my eyes as well, not just in sympathy for what you were going through, but because it evoked still-all-too-raw memories of my own 'goodbyes' on past trips.

Whew!, what a great ride this TR has been, I came to it late, yesterday and read the whole thing in 24 hrs. Your writing is engaging, humorous, captivating and above all honest, making this one of the best TR I have read on any forum. I so empathize with your constant dilemma of wanting to butterfly and at the same time enjoying your developing relationships with your favorite guys. It is a(n overall) happy dilemma that I too face on my holidays to Pattaya. I sometimes wish I could split my heart into a number of pieces to share out amongst my regular bar fines. You come across as a kind, good hearted man with a generous spirit (I suspect your daily budget is somewhat higher than mine) and as a consequence you leave Thailand with a bulging bagful of happy memories. Another question if I can please. Perhaps my most regular barfine over the last 7 years has been a bar girl and she confided in me a while back that she very quickly divides her customers or potential customers between 'Mr Lonely' and 'Mr Horny' and then reacts accordingly to them - in other words to be what they are looking for. (I never dared ask her what category she put me in LOL ) Did you feel the need to do the same; mold your personality and performance to act out the role they were looking for?

Given those sort of circumstances, how did you look upon your customers? - were they just that customers, or did regular customers ever become friends? - did you ever actually like any of them even if you did not find them physically attractive?

I budget for about 10k baht a day; more than some and less than others, but it kinda get frittered on quantity rather than necessarily quality. Ok, I have had a search for Sansuk Sauna and this appears the most informative thread so far. I like the sound of it, but I am still not quite sure what to expect and what the etiquette is once there. Is it some where I should bring a Long Time boy with me?, or will I find other 'interests' here. I am into twinks, preferably asian. Sorry if this all sounds a bit naive but I am still very new to the boy scene in Pattaya.

On other forums huge debate will rage over the earning potential of the girls in Pattaya and it is clear that the answer varies hugely. My main 'stamping ground' is Soi 6, with 60+ Short Time bars along its length; mostly girl bars and some ladyboy bars. So maybe 500 girls 'available' each day, and many of those would be lucky to get one or two Short Times a week, especially in Low Season. But there are also the 'stars'; not many, four or five on the entire street perhaps who can get multiple STs a day; five or six a day is not uncommon for them at 1k baht each customer plus drinks, tips, share of barfines etc. They are absolutely the minority, but they do exist. One little hottie 'Tuktik' from Route 69 Bar is currently the number one and the guys are jokingly talking about organising a ticketing system for her! LOL I readily accept that the 'market' for the boys, even the hot twinks, is not likely to be anywhere near that of the girls, but my point is that the earning of individual boys is also likely to be similarly diverse.
