I'm certain I over tipped somewhat on my first trip in February and will do so again when I come in Oct/Nov. An extra 500 baht per massage/off is not a large amount against the cost of my holiday but hopefully makes a little more difference to the boy receiving it.
-
Unfortunately, the masseurs need some protection from the customers who would give them a shit tip no matter how good the massage and service.

http://www.magnoliamenspa.net/ These will pick you up from your hotel if you wish. I wasn't overly impressed with the massage but I suspect that was the boy as others who have been there have enjoyed it.

I think the hype is way over the top. However, to make this sport both sides should have a chance so perhaps we should send the guy back on his own and without any weapons if he wants sport.

Thanks Anonone. Bookmarked for my next trip.

How many times a year you travel to Thailand?
forky123 replied to abidismaili's topic in Gay Thailand
Hadn't been before February when I spent 3 weeks in Bkk/Pty. going again Oct/Nov for another 3 weeks. Likely to be only yearly from now on though for 3 weeks at a time. -
Is it allowed to mention Thai guys by name here?
forky123 replied to abidismaili's topic in Gay Thailand
I don't think there are any rules about it but... Let me turn it around. If some Thai boys were on this forum, would you be happy with them talking about you here to try to catch you out, perhaps with a few photos? There is an area where people discuss GR guys, though I don't check it out much. I couldn't care less if the guys are spinning a yarn, as long as I'm having a good time. Also, since everyone's taste is so different, someone's review would rarely colour my choice of a guy unless something drastic happened, stealing or something. -
No, but I bet your mother told you that would happen if you didn't stop playing with yourself :-)

I can't say I've noticed the same though I like Vinapu's explanation. For myself I wonder if: 1) Legs are carrying us round all day so they concentrate there as the part they think is most needing massage. 2) they want to put off the groping for a while so stay out of reach 3) they think you like it As I say, I haven't noticed the same. What's your "type" for a masseur. I tend to go for late 20's and a little muscly over younger. Does that make a difference I wonder? Have you noticed this Vinapu as you've probably had more massages than most?

Yeah, going last week of October, first two weeks of November. If it rains, I'll get wet. Me enjoying my holiday doesn't rely on it being sunny though if it rains solidly for 3 weeks I might change my mind :-)

Why? To each their own. I find the personality rather than the look or type much more important.

Interesting poll. I'd have thought there would be a couple of grades between Effeminate and Man though as that's a big jump and I suspect many on the forum have preferences somewhere between.

I had Yaya on that site as a guide for my first trip to Thailand, though I booked him through bkktour.info. Very knowledgable tour guide about locations, travel, history, as well as the gay scene. Was very handy having a guide for just a couple of days both to see the sites and to show me the best and cheapest transport across Bangkok. As it was my first trip, I'd planned to do some tours to see the sites, but it worked out cheaper to hire a guide for a couple of days than doing any organised tours.

I am coming for my second visit to Thailand in October. I loved my visit to Bangkok and Pattaya in February but I'm thinking of doing Bangkok and a different city or resort such as Koh Samui or maybe Chiang Mai. I'm looking for somewhere a little less full on than Pattaya but still with Gay Massage or maybe a Go-Go Bar or two. Anyone have any recommendations? I intend to spend 4 or 5 days in BaAngkor, then 10 days or so elsewhere, then back to Bangkok for my last few days. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Simplest way with abusive posters is to ignore them. As Firecat says, you can't really ban anyone effectively so the simplest answer is to stop reading their posts. Showing them attention encourages them, so do the opposite.

Most gay Thai guys are not into Thai guys at all, only like Farang
forky123 replied to abidismaili's topic in Gay Thailand
Pro Probably near the same percentage of western young gay guys that prefer larger, older guys over guys their own age. I don't really mind If they prefer guys their own age, girls, ladyboys or whatever. As long as they can fake it for a few hours I am happy -
Well, I first visited Thailand in February. My second trip is in October, I loved it that much. For me, what I think surprised me most was that although there is obvious poverty and hard living everywhere, the Thai people still have pride in what they are building, especially in Bangkok. In London, if I went just about anywhere there would be graffiti on the walls and very little pride in the surroundings. In Bangkok it was hard to find any. In contrast to Vinapu, there was not a single thai dish I tried that I didn't enjoy. Some items were rather spicy, and I began measuring spicyness by how much of my face was numb at the end of the meal. That being said, most places I tried served great food. The sole exception being when a Thai lad I was with convinced me to go to an Irish Pub where the food was moderately bad. Land of Sleaze? Not really. You can certainly find sleaze if you look for it, and I did, but the vast majority of what I saw there was anything but. Amazingly friendly people, working two or three jobs to support their families. After one visit I love the place. 97 days and counting till I am back.

There are a number of scams the unwary can fall into with the taxi's. I'm not advocating it as better or worse, it is simply another option. Also, you are met at the gate so if you are a bit unsure, it is nice and easy.

Yes. On my first visit to the U.S. I was shocked to hear a father admonish his young daughter that if she didn't behave he was going to smack her fanny.

You can also use a shared shuttle, available on Expedia. Costs £8-43 (just over 400 baht). They also do shared shuttles between many other places too such as Bangkok to Pattaya for under 1000 baht. Not as cheap as public transport but air conditioned, comfortable and safe.

One "rule" that works for me is "if in doubt, go for the boy looking at you with the biggest smile". It didn't fail me once on my trip.

To be a dissenter, I quite enjoyed it. I didn't expect to but did, though much of the storyline was "borrowed". Nowhere near as good as JP1 but far better than JP2 or JP3.

He doesn't say he read about Yunomori Onsen on the forum, he says after reading as much as he can on the forum that he plans to go there first to get used to live male nudity. Maybe he has a thing for water as another place he is thinking about going is the water nest.

Having been where you are not so many years ago, my suggestion would be to bite the bullet, go get a massage and let whatever happens, happen. It is all too easy to build it up and up in your mind to such a degree that you can't enjoy it as you are so stressed out about it. Hero is a great massage place and I have not had a single bad massage there. I've not tried Water Nest though maybe on my next trip. There are many other great massage places too. Good luck and tell us how you get on.
