When they say bring money, they mean dollars. Do not exchange any dollars for Baht until you get to Thailand. Once you arrive in Thailand airport exchange only enough to get you through the first day or so. Save exchanging more until you get to the city itself. Once in the city, shop around for the best rates. The rates there are so much better than you will get at home.

I almost never choose less than 90 minutes. 90 or 120 is the perfect length for massage and afters for me. The sole exception on my last trip was a 60 minute traditional massage when I really didn't expect hanky panky. The boy was clothed throughout but with about 20 minutes to go he dropped his pants and asked if I wanted to chuck-wow him for 1000 baht tip. I have a mental image of 40 boys behind the glass at Hero all with their dicks out waving them around trying to get your attention. I've got to say I never ask ask, or care, about dick size when going for a massage. There are good and bad massages both in the places you may get a happy ending and the more traditional places. It more depends on what you class as a good massage and luck on who gives it to you. I have had both bad and good massages in both. As a generality, the younger you like your masseur to be, the less experience he is likely to have and the worse the massage. Don't assume that happy endings are limited to the none traditional places either. You may be offered one at a traditional massage place, though don't assume you will. For myself, sex is all part of the massage experience, so I kind of go with the flow and let the masseur take the lead. As I'm mostly bottom that works well for me and I've had some truly great massage experiences in LOS. One thing you may find is that in some of the massage places closer to Soi Twilight that less time may be spent on the massage than you might like and the boy may rush to the ending. I think that may be due to the types of customers they see there and the experiences of the boys. I have lots more massage places to try next visit. At the moment my favourite places are Hero and Adonis. I've not had a bad massage, or bad happy ending for that matter, in either. You can use your mobile in Thailand but the roaming charges for data and call charges may well be excessive. Take it to a store and get a local SIM. Cheap and easy and you can give your number freely knowing you won't get unexpected calls when you get home. What you can get away with varies from go-go bar to go-go bar. I've not been conned that way, but I'm sure some will try it on. Don't fall for it either before you go, on Grindr or GR, or when you are there in person. The vast majority of boys I have encountered have not tried anything like this but you always hear stories.

Not exactly sure how someone is supposed to know what the going rate is if everyone keeps the details to themselves. Personally I like to know what others feel is a fair tip so I can both ensure I am not paying too little and so I am aware of how much to add to the basic for good or exceptional service. I may well put information here if I have given a good tip. It isn't about bragging or charitability, it is to highlight good, and justly rewarded, service. I haven't seen anyone do this, though I have seen people who pay considerably under the going rate being painted in a negative light. Certainly not going to lose sleep over that.

Overall, I hate to see threads closed unless they have degenerated to name calling or similar. I think you misunderstand what direct means. Giving money, in hand, to people in need is direct. Giving to charities and having them take admin costs, advertising, transport, etc out before money gets to the people needing it, is anything but direct.

Unless they are young and fit I can only assume that the guys ripping off the boys for the minimum they can get away with must simply like bad sex and being with a guy that has no incentive to make the experience an enjoyable one. I'd rather pay appropriately, extra where it's deserved, and still know I'm paying for a night what a quickie 30 minute BJ costs at home.
