  1. Thailand has a very serious road problem but the majority of them are motorcyclists, due to the lack of helmets, improperly laden vehicles, ignoring traffic laws. Pedestrians, through lack of adequate crossings, being forced to walk. In the road, sharing pavements with lunatic mopeds, etc. Car passengers through not using seatbelts, poorly maintained infrastructure, lack of child restraints. I really wonder how you get around while you are there if avoiding bikes/taxis/walking.
  2. I too use thelimopattaya.com. Not as cheap as the cheapest but very good value and they are always there 30 minutes ahead of time and I’ve never had an issue with them in all my trips with them.
  3. All booked for June. Usually stay at Baan Souy but it’s £20 a day more expensive than the Agate in Jomtien for my trip so will try the Agate this time.
  4. Normally I go to LoS either Oct/Nov or Feb/Mar. Next year for various reasons I can’t go my “normal” times but I have found a really great deal for end of June. I’m wondering how the weather is late June. Not just the rain, but also heat/humidity? How quiet is it that time of year? Any experiences or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Stayed at Baan Souy start of high season last month (my 4th stay there). It was £55 per night. It is nearly 99% gay. You do get an occasional gay-friendly couple staying if they have gay friends staying there.
  6. It always amazes me that people have such an over-reaction to a 5000 baht fine for people baring their backsides in the grounds of a temple when, in their own countries, this and similar events happen all too regularly. WARNING - THIS IS A NEWS VIDEO BUT IS NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VBUUx0jUKxc
  7. I must have missed the part where these 2 guys were sent to jail. I thought they were given a 5000 baht fine. I’ll be willing to pay his 5000 baht fine and imprison him in my room for a few days on my next visit to ensure his erections are put to better use.
  8. If you believe in Human Standards then perhaps you should look at those laws that are Draconian in the US before pointing fingers. There are a number of areas where the HRW and HRC say the US needs to improve its Human Rights. Juvenile detention, immigration, national security. When talking about Draconian, how about the ridiculous 3 strike rule. Police brutality, particularly their over-reactions against minorities. After 400 years of killing and displacing Indian populations, the US is still poisoning their lands with ridiculous oil pipelines forced on them against their wishes. Perhaps you should concentrate on some of those as Draconian before complaining about some idiot tourists being given a fine for exposing themselves in a temple.
  9. Again with the false equivalences. These tourists WERE criminal and stupid and not just in Thailand. There are many countries where public indecency is a crime. There are also many countries where dropping your pants in a temple will get you into legal problems even more serious. Stop picking random countries with laws you don’t agree with until your own country sorts out it’s own inconsistencies. If you don’t like the laws, stay the fuck away.
  10. My thoughts are from a reasonable interpretation of their actions rather than the twisted comparison of the penalties of a fine or prison and being stoned to death. Either way, if a foreign tourist is stupid enough to not look up the penalties before they engage in either of those actions, it is their own fault. I do find it amusing how people from certain western countries like to moan about laws in the rest of the world while having barbaric and ridiculous laws in their own countries that they conveniently ignore.
  11. Way to twist an argument. If people in Nigeria or anywhere else want a law change they should get involved with their own countries policies. As a western tourist, if you go to Nigeria and fuck your boytoy in the middle of the market square at noon, you should expect to be treated as any other Nigerian. Laws being barbaric or plain wrong is not the issue being debated, it’s knowing something is illegal and being dumb enough to not only deliberately flout that law but to post the evidence on social media. If you don’t like the laws of another country then doing go there. If you do go there, flout the laws and get arrested, it’s your own fault.
  12. The 1956 penal code’s sections 206 to 208 (last amended in 1976) prohibit the insult or disturbance of religious places or services of all officially recognized religious groups. Penalties range from imprisonment of one to seven years or a fine of 2,000 to 14,000 baht ($67 to $467). They want to hope they get a slap on the wrist rather than something more serious. As it is, however, it’s obvious they knew full well how disrespectful they were being with such a deliberate act. As for whether it is a crime, that is for the Thai’s to decide. I get so fed up with westerners having the attitude that because they are free to do something in their own country that they can ignore laws when they travel. A little respect for other cultures and religions goes a long way.
  13. Any recommendations for hotels? Do they charge for “guests”?
  14. Common Spa was an attempt at a HJ and a pretty shit attempt to be honest. I stopped the guy as he was more likely to cause injury than anything else. Mars, the whole Massage was extremely sensual. It’s what I call a true sensual massage where the guy titillates your cock and ass throughout the massage and keeps moving away then coming back longer each time to keep increasing the sexual tension. There was no penetration but, for me, that was only a slight detraction. He particularly liked to use his chin and mouth on my ass. The whole package was really quite good. Classic House was full penetration and boy was it full penetration. The massage was crap mainly because he only did my legs and ass. Once he started playing with my ass he moved to the sex pretty quickly. Once I realised how good he was though at the sex I really didn’t mind and it lasted a very long time. Multiple positions and some really hard battering of my prostrate. An expert top unlike most, so-called, tops who couldn’t find the prostate with a map.
  15. Common Spa the guy wasn’t gay and wasn’t very good at acting. Massage was ok, after were pretty pathetic. Mars the guy was gay and both massage and afters were pretty good. Classic House the guy was probably straight, the Massage was pretty crap but the afters were superb.

    Lurker

I am so sorry to hear this, especially when it was obvious he was having so much fun on his first visit to Bangkok. I also get heartburn (though not so much now I eat a better diet), chronic indigestion (again improved by better diet and not eating late) and have severe heart problems. I don’t find heartburn mimics cardiac symptoms but it is extremely difficult for me to distinguish between chronic indigestion and angina/heart issues. In fact I missed completely having a heart attack early last year having put the symptoms down to other things.
  17. Whichever you choose, I found Uber to be the best transport by far.
  18. Details of some of the Massage places I’ve tried, or plan to try, during my current trip. Classic House Massage ——————————— Address: Tha Pea Road, Soi 4. Phone: 053 904 582 Web site: www.classichousemassage.net Directions: Easiest way to get there is likely to be Uber. Otherwise take Tha Pea Gate from Old City and head down Tha Pea Road to Soi 4 on right. It’s a couple of hundred yards down on left and fairly well signed. Although you can get to it walking North from Loi Khro Road, it’s a pain in the ass unless you have GPS on your phone and even then the splits in the alleys can lead you astray. Common Massage ————————- Address: 27/4 Hussadhisawee Road, Tambon Changpuak, Amphur Muang, Chiang Mai 50300 Phone: 062 252 2562 Web site: www.commonspa.com Directions: Easiest way to get there is likely to be Uber. Set destination for Hussadhisawee Soi 3. The Massage house is on the left side of Hussadhisawee Road about 20 yards past the junction with Soi 3 heading away from the Old City. Diamond House Massage ———————————- Address: The address on Facebook doesn’t appear current and the web site isn’t up yet. I will update if I find it. Phone: 053 272 437 Web site: www.diamondhousemassage.com (currently not working) Directions: if I find it I will update it. Marn Mai Massage ————————- Address: Chang Phuak Soi 2, Chang Phuak Rd., Chiang Mai Phone: 053 358 187 , 0897788385 Web site: www.marnmai-massage.com. (WARNING - The map on this web site has South at the top which makes it somewhat confusing to follow.) Directions: Easiest way is going to be Uber. If walking then take Hussadhisawee Road and walk up right hand side. A short way after passing Spicy Thai Backpackers take Changphuak Soi 2 on right hand side. Follow it until it curves and splits. Don’t take the immediate split down the back of the houses, walk the few yards to the front. Marn Mai Massage is 50 yards or so on your left. Mar Spa ———— Address: Sirimangklajarn Road Soi 3. Phone: 053 221 121 Web site: Supposedly www.marspa.net but this does not work. Directions: Easiest way is Uber but if you are walking, take the Huay Kaew Road (NW corner of Old City). Walk for about 600 yards, past Central Plaza Kad Suan Kaew until you hit Sirimangklajam Road. Walk down to Soi 3 on left hand side and then walk down Soi. Marspa is on the right and is signed as Mars (and not very well at that. If you get to House of Male (gay spa/sauna) you’ve gone too far. Of the other massage places, Sanctuary Spa appears to still be open (053 280 349) but no other details. 69 Club and Paradise Massage would appear to have closed recently. There may be others around but I haven’t found them yet and I think, as everywhere, they pop up and close down regularly.
  19. Secrets bar is now on Charon Prathet Soi 6 next to Ram Bar. Still has pool table. Not many in (boys or customers) last night at around 2300 when I stuck my head in.
  20. I have far more of my time screwed by people on apps at home who have no intention of meeting than I have ever experienced in Thailand. In fact, I would say the reverse is true, there are simply so many genuine guys wanting to meet in Thailand that people waste their own time trying to find the perfect meet out of hundreds. P.S - 2 days to go !!!!
  21. Even sadder are those that find his noteworthyness, noteworthy. Damn, wait ........ I see where this is going .......
  22. Well, at least we know 100% that a full ban here was fully appropriate.
  23. I arrive a week today for my 3 weeks in Chiang Mai/Pattaya.
  24. Go to Settings, Content Settings, Google Translate and set it to on. Whenever you go to a page in a foreign language you will then be given the option to have it translated.

    Jet Lag

It always seems to me that the more people pander to jet lag, the more they are affected by it. If you just get on with things and ignore the time then it has little effect. If you try to keep the same routine as at home then I can understand that the time difference may be awkward.
