Back in the 1990’s there were daily flights on Bangkok Airways from Utapai to Phnom Penh. The service ended when the Cambodians set fire to the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh over the ongoing argument about Angkor Watt and who owns it. I hope in the future the flights resume. It was nice to take a weekend trip to Cambodia without having to travel to Bangkok for The flights.

Thank you for your detailed report Numazu. I would just love to visit that Sauna. I am a little frightened to visit Brazil partly because of the experience a heterosexual friend of mine had when was there for the Olympic Games and was mugged and badly beaten. I have travelled on the current rail service from Pattaya to Sattahip. The fare was something ridiculously cheap 18 baht return (maybe less) and free for Thais. It’s a nice slow journey through some lovely countryside and also passing Buddha Mountain.

My advice would be to avoid Thailand any time between 10th April and 19th April during the crazy drunken water throwing days.

Just as general observation since you left Thailand we've had a: "Somewhat wet rainy season" lol

I had a stroll along the beach road at Jomtien this evening (Friday) I was pleasantly surprised to see quite a lot of eye candy sitting on the walkways and beach eating and drinking obviously not working because of the bars closing in respect of the anniversary of the Kings death.
