Sorry for the late response I’ve had a few issues since I returned home so not much time for reading the forum. Ok so I was walking along Beach Road close to Mike Shopping Mall when I was apprehended by a rather cute and petite African girl mid twenties named Angeela. She asked where I was going and would I like some company. I explained that I was gay and liked guys and she said “oh that’s OK I have a friend who is looking for a date” within 15 minutes of Angeela making a call Marcel arrived and we had a nice short time encounter. Marcel told he had never been to Bangkok so a couple of days after first meeting him we went on little excursion to the big city. Very enjoyable.

I’m coming to the end of my latest 27 day holiday (it should have been 28 days but somehow I messed up the booking) I haven’t done much worth writing about, massage most evenings and beach or pool during the daytime. Weekend visit to Bangkok and an excellent time with a slim African rentboy, I took him to Babylon Sauna, I had a great time. Perhaps I am being a little pedantic but I responded to an advertisement for a “New Catamaran Service” from Pattaya to Hua Hin when I made the trip in March 2017.

The OP referred to a “Ferry” not a “Catamaran” so I assume there is now also a ferry service?

Just thinking back to several side trips I made to Phnom Penh from Thailand I can’t recall any specific gay bars. My favourite in the late 1990’s up to my last visit in 2010 was Martinis I remember my first evening there I was sitting having a drink and the pushy mama came over and asked if I wanted a lady to join me. I told her I liked men not ladies and shortly after our conversation she appeared with two very handsome Cambodian guys. Other bars at that time seemed to operate in a similar way and I never had a problem finding a companion for the evening and also no problems at the hotels and no joiner fees. Are there any dedicated gay bars now? or is it still just casual pickups or the modern trend of Dating Apps?

Another transport option now is the Catamaran from Hua Hin to Pattaya - a pleasant 2.5 hour cruise. 1100 baht when I did the trip last year. I’m not sure if still the same now.

Are Sharky, Heart of Darkness and Martinis still going? I haven’t been to Phnom Penh since 2010 and at that time I used to love to go down to the Riverside Restaurants in the evenings. One sickening aspect of dining in that area was that every evening you would see the dozens of charity workers or so calked NGO’s arriving in their posh land cruisers to the Foreign Correspondents Club and other bars and restaurants whilst the children and other vulnerable people they were supposedly helping were over the road on the Riverside barefoot and begging or maybe selling beer, soft drinks or cigarettes. I hope things have changed for the better but I very much doubt it.
