  1. Happy New Year to all
  2. Thank You for sharing all you're great reports - Happy New Year
  3. Merry Christmas to you also Vinapu
  4. Thanks for your interesting reports and observations over the last couple of months firecat69. I have followed the thread since you started it and also enjoyed seeing your great photographs too. I seem to share your taste in cute twinks. It's always sad to leave Thailand and head for home but I wish you a safe and pleasant journey home. I can't wait until February when I return to Fun City (but I suppose I will have to wait)
  5. Thanks for the report Vinapu, the Waterworks Spa sounds fantastic. I would love to be pampered like you describe and finished off in a jacuzzi with cute masseur to assist me. Unfortunately the prices you quote are outside my budget even as a one off. Great to hear you're having lots of fun.
  6. Looking forward to your massage reports - my favourite
  7. Safe journey and I wish you all the best for a great holiday

    Fireworks

It sounds like I had the best deal watching the fireworks on webcam - alas no cute twink to watch with me
  9. I would love to spend Christmas/New Year in Pattaya and I although I have been coming to Thailand for 24 years now I have never yet managed to get away from family commitments in the UK - hopefully one day I will be ably to.
  10. Good luck TMax, try not to strangle the duck head. I'm not sure I could stay calm in your situation as I'm allergic to dick heads but on the positive side it's only 4 weeks until January. I hope you have a ball mate.
  11. Thanks for your input travelerjim, I had looked at the Rabbit Resort in the past but I too was put off by the security question you raise about returning late at night / early morning. I have been holidaying in Pattaya for 24 years now but as yet have never stayed in Jomtien I think it's time to give it try even if it's only for part of my holiday as I really do like Dongtan Beach.
  12. Thank you Moses for these reviews, you have certainly given me some interesting places to consider on my next trip.
  13. Has anyone had any first hand experience of staying at the Bondi Hotel? It is ideally placed for me as a Dongtan Beach fan and I think I may try a week or so there next trip if the feedback is favourable (and of course if they have a vacancy) Thanks for any help on this one. http://www.bondipattaya.com/

    Fireworks

I watched the Fireworks Display last night from the comfort of my computer chair here in The UK via the Beach Road Web-Cam - Isn't technology marvelous
  15. Ah ok, I think I saw a "Morlam" earlier this year, there was an extremely noisy concert held on the spare land where the X-Zyte Disco used to be on Third Road. Unfortunately not my kind of Thai Music.
  16. What is a morlam? Please excuse my ignorance

    Singapore

Thanks for the update abang1951. I am hoping to fly down from BKK for a long weekend in Geylang on my next holiday to Thailand in the New Year.
  18. Two Faces in the complex have ST rooms but maybe only if you take a guy from the bar. There are however some very nice guys there. http://www.twofacesthailand.com/

    Singapore

I'm with you on that one abang1961 I confirm I really enjoy my trips to Singapore and have never experienced any sort of prejudice or homophobia on any of my visits to Singapore on the contrary I have only found the people I have met to be friendly and sociable.

    Singapore

. Yes, £130.00 for everything, Taxi transfers, 2 nights Hotel room plus a late check out (6pm) all my food, MRT tickets, Singapore Flyer fare and one very nice massage from a handsome local guy. Due my medical conditions and some of the medication I take not being compatible with alcohol I don't drink which cuts down on spending. Some people describe me as a "Cheap Charlie" but I am just a budget traveler due to limited resources. Edit: My return flight from Don Muang with Air Asia cost me 4700 THB which I booked at Champ Travel in Soi Post Office it may be possible to book cheaper online. The Fragrance Crystal Hotel I booked online with Asia Rooms and is definately cheapest booked online.

    Singapore

Singapore is a really nice friendly place to visit and need not be expensive. I stay in Geylang Lorong 18 when I go for a weekend away from Thailand its just a short taxi ride from the airport (Singapore $25) and I stay in one of the Frangrance Hotels. (Singapore $55) Geylang has some great little bars and food courts where you can get local food from around ($3) for a meal or for people with Asian food phobias there is a McDonanlds close by. Geyland is on The MRT circuit and it is easy to get around. The last time I visited I took the MRT to Marina Square and then walked the short distance to The Singapore Flyer. (I had my UK diving licence with me for proof of age and got to go on the Wheel as a senior (only $30) The views of the City are awesome. There are some nice restaurants around Marina Square too. On my last visit for my 2 night stay (3days) I reckon in total I spent around £130.00 (about 6500 THB) so comparible with a budget stay in Thailand. Hope this is of some help to someone.
  22. I also still enjoy my days on the beach. I usually alternate between an afternoon at the beach with an afternoon around the swimming pool. It was however as we reminisce much better years ago when there were plenty full cute Speedo clad boys to look at and chat with but unfortunately it is not to be nowadays. Things change, in fact the only thing in life that is constant is change. There are still plenty of other options to enjoy delights of Pattaya and the many cute young guys who are willing to entertain us.
  23. A gay British man, Ray Cole, who was sentenced to four months in a Moroccan jail after authorities found images on his phone that reportedly proved homosexuality, has been released. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/africa/gay-british-man-ray-cole-released-from-moroccan-prison-9780959.html We still have a long way to go before we have equality for gay people but what I found most disturbing and sickening when listening to the report on BBC Radio was that there are still around 8 moronic countries in the world that have the death sentence for people convicted of committing homosexual acts. We are far from being a civilized race.
  24. I agree with frequentflyer the combination of the invasion of giant jellyfish and absolutely filthy water kept me out of the water on August/September trip. The beach and water at Pattaya Beach Road is even worse it looks like the garbage trucks are just dumping their loads into the sea. Lots of floating trash of all discriptions.
  25. Thanks to everyone for your interesting feedback on this topic. I am not sure that I will ever make the trip allthough allong with Japan it is at the top of my dream holiday list. Maybe the biggest factor for me not to go would be the need to learn at least a little bit of the Spanish or Japanese language I had a stroke 5 years ago and now find learning new things (or retaining what I try to learn) very difficult. And Thailand is just so easy each new holiday is just like picking up where I left off last time. I'm so lazy.
