I think as westerners its very hard for us to understand what motivates the guys (or women) to work in the sex industry. I don't think it's possible to put a price on what gives us enjoyment. I have a limited budget and always stay within that budget. If being in Thailand on a budget caused me to be unhappy I wouldn't come to Thailand again. I love to travel, I love to see my ex-pat friends in Pattaya and I love the freedom of not having to shop or cook or look after my apartment at home for a month. Maybe an off from a bar once in the trip. Because of health issues most nights I am in bed by 10pm. On my last trip I averaged 900 baht a day spending money and had a really enjoyable time.
