Economy doesn't bother me too much, for me flying from the UK on Emirates it is only a 6.5 hour flight to Dubai plus a 6.00 hour flight onward to BKK. I have just booked with Emirates for next month return flight £429.00 (around $650.00 US) or (€580.00)

06.30 arrival is perfect for me, plenty of time to clear immigration and collect your luggage and get down to level one book your ticket on the 08.00 Bell Bus to Pattaya and then while you wait there is a superb little Food Hall right next to the Bell Travel Desk where you can get a great meal or snack for around 40 - 50 baht and a coffee for just 15 baht (buy food tickets at the entrance)

For the budget traveller always remember that when in Bangkok or Pattaya having a wank is like money in the bank.

From BBC News: A bomb has exploded close to a shrine in the centre of the Thai capital, Bangkok, police say. Local reports suggest at least 12 people have died and dozens have been injured. The BBC's Jonathan Head, who is at the scene, says there is a huge amount of chaos, with body parts scattered everywhere. The attack took place close to the Erawan Shrine in the capital's central Chidlom district. Our correspondent says this a very well known shrine in the centre of Bangkok, next to a five-star hotel. He says people around the shrine were hit by the full force of the blast. There are burnt motorbikes on the main road, with paramedics and police trying to take the injured away, he says. The explosion was on the Rajprasong intersection, which has been the centre of political demonstrations in recent years. Our correspondent says bomb attacks in Bangkok are extremely rare.

I used my Emirates Skywards miles to upgrade to business class on the DXB - BKK leg of my journey a couple of trips ago. The business class seating on the upper deck cabin of the Emirates Airbus A380-800 is awesome with lots of leg room and seats recline almost horizontal and the service is probably the best I have ever experienced or will ever experience again (I doubt I'll save enough miles again) it was my first and only experience of upgrades.

It doesn't always help to know what kind of guy you're looking for, for instance I am looking for a Fem, (straight acting in public) Slim, Handsome guy with a smooth hairless body and a 9 inch appendage who thinks that fat old farangs me like are a real turn on, I have failed continuously to find him for the last 25 years.

I would add Singapore and The Philippines to vinapu's suggestions both destinations only a short flight (2.5 hours) I especially like Singapore for a short weekend break and stay in Geylang where there are some great budget hotels and food courts. Good transport links from Geylang too. In Manila I stay in Ermita, in affordable hotels around United Nations Avenue and there are easy transport links to the rest of Manila.

That's a good idea, thanks. I'll use my regular mocy guy from Soi Buakhao and call him when I'm ready to go back.
