Bangkok/Yangon/Bagan/Mandalay Trip Report: Playing With Fire
steveboy replied to numazu's topic in Gay Thailand
You think that we are in need of a lesson and that you are qualified to teach it. Here is why your teaching may not be appropriate: somehow you think that members of this forum need to be lectured about treating others with more respect and dignity, like we don't have our own moral standards. You don't take into consideration that we are not young Thai models, money boys with at least some gay lifestyle displayed in public. A more appropriate moral rule is: I should deal with the picture of another person not like it is OF ME, but like I would IF I WAS THE PERSON IN THE PICTURE. For example, I would feel hurt if someone posts a nude picture of me in the thread "Some Model Photoshots". Yet I post all the time pictures from professional models and amateurs who have them taken to be exhibited and promoted, and I am confident that they are in agreement... like I would be if I were in their shoes. -

A thick skin is useful in many situations in life. With it, instead of getting upset we feel calm and confident inside and take the best course of action in response to provocation and aggression. -

If you think twice you could identify a big difference between our pictures and those of the gogo boys. Gogo boys are already in the public eye. We are not. We have some privacy to protect, which we choose to do for very good reasons. Gogo boys give up their privacy for very good reasons too, which is to have a good source of income. -

(my coloring of your text) I don't see how someone should be sincerely outraged over your excellent posts. And now fault finding and criticizing by a few makes you reluctant to include what you think is worth seeing in your posts? Is it worth caring for such negative critics? -

These boys who exhibit themselves half naked in a public place (not a private setting) eager to be seen and be popular, would they mind if their photos are taken and shared? In any case, it is nice of you to take the trouble to blur their faces. -
I also find Bangkok a most lovable destination since it is a Mecca for sex tourism second to none (my apologies to religious believers for my ideas of what is sacred). Still I appreciate Taiwanese boys since they are Asian, and my libido is uniquely tuned to Asians. Ten years ago I visited Taipei in a last leg of a trip that included Manila, and coming from there the city of Taipei shined, although my experience with Philippine boys was as good as with the Taiwanese. I stayed in the area of Taipei where the gay scene is and visited all their gay saunas and other places. Not a bad experience compared to what I have at home. Now that I am a little more savvy in gay life I want to visit again, if possible during their famous Parade in October, my fantasy stimulated by the new sauna Aniki Wow and other improvements, and I'm confident I can find what I like One small negative: I recently booked a flight to BKK on EVA with one stop in Taipei. If instead of BKK I fly only to Taipei, the cost of airfare is... like 40% more expensive (!!!!) Prices of air travel are crazy.

What is trivial for some, is not so for those who find themselves in a discussion. It takes some growing up to realize this.
-
It is not uncommon among normal decent people that discussions become confrontational and some bad feelings come to light. This would not be so bad and could easily get buried in the flow of comments if it were not for some who enticed by the slightest conflict come out posting as sanctimonious pacifists to make a big calls of "pathetic". With this they unfortunately add their own bad feelings to it.

It becomes clear when people see the speckle in the other's eye...

Well... tight jeans on the right body can give some of the more enticing stimulation to our our imagination... The view may not get as old as seeing a bunch of hairy cocks, especially if the cocks can be had with some minor expenditure of money.

And seniority as a rational human being too.

Good principle of not leaving anything to waste.

Hopefully you are wise to take care of yourself so that in your 50s you look back at your 40s with fondness and in your 70s you look back at your 60s with fondness... etc. While being picky I am glad to leave more for the rest of you, and I wish these boys the biggest success with all the followers they want. And while looking for the ideal I can also, like spoon wrote, accept other virtues in lieu of perfect bodies. -
I read this as the honest truth, and I find here so much in common with my thinking. I like objectivity of intentions, good understanding. Although I have never been in their position, I imagine that money boys would like the same, not interested in starting a romance with each customer. This does not mean that good manners, friendliness and generosity are out of place. When I buy groceries at the store I never treat any of their personnel in a bad way, instead I smile and overlook their eventual bad moods, and as result they know me and are glad to see me. But I am only there for the groceries, and if they overcharge me I don't hesitate to let them know. So far I have only been once with a money boy (in Pattaya 12 years ago) and I made sure that he enjoyed it as much as I did, or at least he made it appear so... I would never enjoy doing it with someone who obviously is forced to do it for the money. I can have a great night out with disco, alcohol, dancing, loud music and heavy smoking as an infrequent reminder of earlier days, but not as a necessary means to some sex.

Same with me too. I associate Asian boys with twinks or at least slim guys, larger muscle guys are plenty in my country. I was just seeing some photos from the famous gay parade in Taipei, and thinking: oh, so many gorgeous Taiwanese twinks, why are THEY not riding the floats? The ones in the photos were not so much muscular but a little bit rounded with few attractive profiles to grab, and they would be perfect with some food shortage in their country. -
travelgayasia.com is one of the most up-to-date and inclusive sites for the gay scene in Bangkok and many other cities. The particular details of the various saunas you find on their websites and the comments about them. Another good source of information is the blog of ChristianPFC, http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/

Well, Pattaya could become a quality place of world standard. They could take some example in Nevada, US. Not for the gambling, which is an evil exploitation of those handicapped with this vice, but with prostitution. Nevada has legal prostitution in some of its minor cities, and who knows how the larger ones like Reno and Las Vegas could flourish be if it were fully legal there too. Pattaya has the most important assets: a reputation, plenty of sex workers and clients. What it needs is more infrastructure, better transport connections with BKK, intelligent regulations geared towards good sex trade with minimum criminality. Foreign sex tourism should be welcomed. Good schools and institutes of higher education, classical dance schools, gyms, that would attract the youngest and most beautiful to the area and provide them with convenient sources of income in the sex industry. Real estate developments that offer decent living conditions to people who like to be the closest to the action, and quality hotels who offer original experiences to tourists of both inclinations and genders, maybe with a variety of sensible all-inclusive packages. HAHAHA... It does not cost anything to dream Maybe one day in a more progressive world...
-
Oh... why couldn't we have a little of that in my city? The places here that should offer some attraction like gyms, bars, saunas are mostly frequented by plump American guys with very few nice Asians in between, and then one's eyes get stressed by following them with exclusion of everyone else...

I second your opinion, this would be very helpful if it is possible.

I don't think that fit and not so fit older guys are out of place in a party like that. We need to give the example to the young guys and show them that the world is not exclusively for the young but the older are ahead of the younger, who cannot be sure that they will be there when old. However, even if we belong we don't need to be in a party like that if we find them a little boring like soft porn, and we prefer to spend a much more exciting time for less money, booze, noise and smoke in some popular nude event in a gay sauna.
