  1. Are you sure they go so far? It sounds very sophisticated for a mini fridge to measure the weight of what is inside... and convey the information to the office. How they guess what item it is, from a weight? I had many rooms with minibars. Never touched any of that junk, but I pile it away to leave space for the perishables I buy and want to keep cool. I don't remember having ever paid for a minibar item.
  2. Why? On my very first night in LOS, at the Ambience in Pattaya, the manager came to my room to ask if everything was fine. One thing lead to another, and after my first sex in this Land of Smiles we parted smiling and he left with a 1000 baht tip.
  3. If your blood pressure raised to 220/150 you would not have finished typing your post. What is worse, taking whiskey bottle out of mini bar or lying about blood pressure?
  4. It's interesting what the National Rifle Association (NRA) said about the "bump stops": "The NRA believes that devices intended to allow semi-automatic rifles to function like fully automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations," Subjected to "additional regulations"? What is this? The buyer's grandmother's name on the application form? Anything less than total ban ?? What a deception! If they had one ounce of good intentions they would at least impose the same regulations as the purchase, possession of a fully automatic rifle.
  5. Maybe this "personal protection" excuse hides their desire for power and self justice with a gun in their hand? Personal protection should lead to outlawing guns... to be protected... from the guns of others. In Las Vegas no one could have protected himself by pulling out a gun and shooting at the hotel window, high up, hundreds of yards away, and difficult to identify. Yesterday on a forum I had a discussion with some staunch republicans. At a loss with the tragedy, they still had this argument: if the shooter had no guns, he still would have found other ways to kill people, with knives, bombs, cars. And they got this argument in response: Why should we cure cancer? We still have heart failure, other organ failures, diabetes, sepsis infections to die from.
  6. The same happens with the Affordable Care Act. Millions will continue to support repealing Obamacare... until they face bankruptcy over their medical bills.
  7. Maybe the guy was too busy with his guitar. But this one was not the first mass shooting in the US. Did it had to threaten his "brothers on the road" and himself to realize that reality?
  8. Hugh Hefner, what a role model! But then they say that we gays are promiscuous?
  9. One starts to believe that you want the world to bend backwards to accommodate to your desires. Good luck!
  10. To exit a thread where you don't like how people behave is much easier than leaving a room with people farting, unless you have severe finger arthritis.
  11. Oh, I'm not worried about a heart attack anytime soon. Maybe in 16 years at 90. And if by then I happen to pass out at a Babylon foam party... what better way to go?
  12. I find that the Singapore forum blowingwind.io is a well organized and successful one. It has about a million posts and it gets hundreds of new ones each day. It as a section with 50,000 posts called The Flaming Room - Bad Attitude and Flame Wars will be moved here. When a thread gets contaminated with insults, these and following posts are moved there, and gays can continue fighting to their hearts content and call each other all sorts of names. This blowinwind.io forum is used mainly by young and local gays. Young people and those young at heart we don't mind some bitching, as long as we have the option to follow it or not.
  13. Haha, I agree about the spanking.... but it takes patience to make someone contrite and repentant. He could have got that here to his benefit, but he may have to start anew somewhere else.
  14. LOL! And they are supposed to be Divine and infinitely-everything up there.
  15. Vinapu, we all value our time differently, and if you don't value yours, this is fine. I don't know if samebb's wrath needs to be spared. I was spared the wrath of hurricane Harvey, and my sister was saved the wrath of hurricane Irma. We are immensely thankful to nature for that. As for samebb's wrath... who cares? If he is suspended instead of banned, no one loses. If his wrath comes back, then suspend him back. I am the father of a man who was terrible as a child. Suspended countless times. But never banned. Today, he is the best son one can wish for.
  16. It has crossed my mind that gay places in BKK can be attractive for terrorists who are also fundamentalist homophobics. One occasion like this is a foam party at Babylon during Songkran, for example. And it crossed my mind being there, in the middle of it. But I put that thought away, thinking that it is as negative as thinking of a catastrophe while flying at 30,000 feet in a plane.
  17. What I propose is to use suspension when a member crosses the line and screws up the forum, derails threads, etc. "according to the judgment of the administrator, the moderator". This is a perfect solution for the time of the suspension, like one month in the first case with samebb. This should give time to calm the situation. I find that "derail threads" is a lame excuse, since there are so many threads that can be started, and the ones I know that were "derailed" returned to their course without problems. I find it ugly when members snitch on other members and start threads to blow up an incident of verbal fighting. The job of the moderator is to be current with all the posting here, and Scooby seems quite capable to identify the incident and take action without people complaining. We should be a COMMUNITY, not a gang of righteous people who converse as they please and then take it out against individuals who they don't like because they are of stronger character. Note that in this case it is also a gang against an individual, who tried to get samebb banned like he is an outsider. I read exactly the same posts you did, and I would not like to complain to the moderator. In a community, the good and the bad need to have a chance to live, and here we are fortunate to have a moderator who keeps the peace so that we don't have to do it ourselves.
  18. I remember his run-in with jfarmer, and there is where my dislike for him started. You say "he wasn't willing to change". This sounds awfully close to what one hears about us gays: "we aren't willing to change". I hope no one disagrees that this is a gay site and we members are a community of gays. A community that has been unjustly banned, bullied, victimized for being gay and "not willing to change" in more or less degree depending on our personal experiences. This should teach us to not give up on people because they are apparently unwilling to change. Can anyone assess that samebb was "unwilling" or that an aspect of his character happened to come through? I don't see how we benefit by having him permanently banned instead of temporarily suspended. Suspended each time he crosses the line, once and "seventy times seven" times. Of course I'm not the one who has to do this and I don't know how much work this is for Scooby, if it is more than a few clicks on his system. At least if it is done consistently, there is hope that samebb will learn one day and change, and then and only then will something positive be accomplished.
  19. I second your opinion. A person who consistently posts here for years also makes an INVESTMENT of his time and interests. It is disturbing to see this taken away so drastically. All because some people are sensitive to others arguing, as if they are models of civility, and they complain. We all have our shortcomings and to tolerate them, this is a model of civility. I personally don't like samebb, but I recognize his valuable contributions and I like even less the way he was thrown out, his personality changed to "Banned" like he is a criminal. So I want to petition Scooby to reinstate samebb's membership and give him another chance or a suspension.
  20. I agree, the "after" photo looks horrible, and not because it is sideways. What in heavens did they have in mind?

Yes? Is parking to scarce in KL? I have never looked for parking there because I have never driven there, thank God.

There is danger in taking such advice seriously.
  23. I'm glad this thread has been unlocked again. I am at 6,000 miles from Nice Boys and Winner Boys, so it is hard for me to go and make my own experience, although I WOULD LOVE to do that. Reading this thread convinces me that in my next trip I should definitely visit Pattaya. and not miss any of these places.
  24. The barrack rooms are private and can accommodate two people, with a safe in each which has a six digit combination, a place to hang clothes and some drawers. Each of the three floors has one communal bathroom with toilets, showers, sinks. This is where guests can meet and have fun, continuing it in their individual rooms. The rooms, bathroom are clean with good facilities. In the 6th floor there is the breakfast room with two large tables and other side accommodations, and the free buffet is served for ample time, with good food. The best of it is that guests sit at the large tables and engage in conversations that are not only social but also informative, since a large number of guests are regulars with much experience of Bangkok and other tourist places, a rather cosmopolitan crowd. There are always seniors who are very friendly and like to pass on their expertise. I would recommend these barrack rooms over the more fancy rooms with private bathroom, which are separate from the main building and more isolated. The sauna itself is worthwhile, for which the guests get two free tickets daily, and another one that is fun is Sauna Mania on their nude nights, Thursday and Sunday after 7PM, which is at walking distance from Babylon (if you are in good shape as you state)
  25. This laying out their money so they see it up front makes sense. Otherwise, a request from the boy to get payed up front only shows distrust, since he is not supposed to leave and spend the money before coming back.
