Great Report!!!!!
-
Another issue with Prince is I think there is a bit of tendency there to rush, so you may not always get the benefit of the extra .5 hrs you pay for. That has happened to me a few times. I did book a 1.5 hour massage but when the boy first, and early, tried to move on the the "calisthenic" part of the Special Services I just told him to slow down - so this time I got my full 1.5 hrs.
-
Than you for the kind words and I assure you and all readers that I very much enjoyed our time together

Only one real report, and for it's Bangkok Massage which is hardly news for anyone. A revisit to Prince. Otherwise I've been occupied with an off from Hornet (excellent, going to travel in Vietnam together) and Screw Boys (#19 - dud, chuck-wowed himself and then away). Bangkok Massage. I got to Bangkok Massage about midnight after seeing the show at Hot Male. There's a guy there is not 100% my type, but I go see once a year because he's nice, does whatever, a bit older and straight and tries harder. Still, I went up the stairs and told the boy-in-charge I wanted to pick, so s/he shouts out and what type of boy I wanted and in a minute there were about 9 to chose from. All sorts (but none of the true wispy thin types that some of the gogo bars have). Basically normal guys normal bodies. The bathroom and shower are in the hall, and showers are separated by a curtain, so if privacy is a concern not the place for you. The rooms are small-ish, mattresses on the floor. walls do not go up to the ceiling, so sound does travel. All very amusing because when I was getting my massage there was a guy next door getting a jolly-rogering with sound effects out of a porn movie. All very fun if you have the right attitude. Massage was good and experienced, as were the afters. Bangkok Massage - like Bonny's - can be a bit inconsistent so I think a lot depends on the masseur you pick and clear effective communication. But it is damned convenient and a decent value. 1.5 hr oil massage 700. Minimum tip 700. Prince - revisit. I went to Prince with a fellow message board member. Got there before the rush - a little before 6:00 on weekend. There were probably close to 35 or so guys. Full selection of everything except twinks. Different young lad helping customers this time, and not as helpful. I wanted to know who was gay (because about 10% maybe 20% will be gay), and he adopted the unhelpful you pick who and I'll tell you what he does. So I pick first one, "No, straight top only." Pick the second one, "No, straight top only." I say, "Now you see the problem." Pick a third time, "Yes, gay and guy next to him straight but will also bottom." Progress at last! Picked nice compact package of a guy from Myanmar. Pay for massage up front - I don't think I've had to do that before here and I don't particularly like the practice, especially here where I think there can be a risk of shortchanging on the total time. Even so I went with 1.5 cream massage. The massage was good++. He knew what he was doing but was more into being sensual than rigorous, and his sensual technique was superb. It was fun having that as a mix-up. Special Services excellent. 1.5 hrs cream 1,000. Minimum tip 1.5 hrs 1,500. Off to Vietnam for a couple weeks.

You might consider AirBnB. I used them last year for a 3 month visit and this year for a 4 month stay.

Had a great time meeting with Paulsf at Hot Male, and then as he said I went on to Classic Boys to see the show and a friend who works there. Classic Boys had a decent line up of about 15 guys. All in the same white underwear. Probably a third petite twinky types, a third early-mid 20s with trim/fit bodies (not particularly musclebound) and a third "other" - one very rough looking guy who did the underwater performance, and a couple of older types. The show starts at 10:30 and another around 12:00. Business was slow but it was a Monday night. Some "manly men" performances with two guys with erections encased in rubber "dancing" and then walking around the audience for a grope and a tip. Some well-intentioned cabaret dance lip-synching show. Same same. Relentless mamasans - easy to ignore. I think drinks were 350 I was told all drinks same price. Buy gets 50 for a drink you buy him. After the show at Classic Boys I caught the tail end of the show at Screw Boys (more lip-syncing katoeys). The boys came out - about 15 or so. Very good selection of all types. The whole spectrum represented. Unfortunately I offed a real dud.

confirm had a great time at Hot Mae meeting Paulsf and fellow message-boarder ct2005!!
-
saam sip - you're exactly right. Thanks...
-
I guess I wasn't clear when I said "close approximation" - I don't think you would be able to get the proper tantra/etc. massage
-
I don't know of other shops that specifically offer it, but my guess is that if you can get the point across many of the full service shops could make a close approximation happen for you. Might also be easier if you are a repeat customer for one of the boys - he may be more relaxed/adventurous and you might find it easier communicating. Some masseurs seem to be much more of a natural for this than others. point to appropriate area(s), say "cha cha" (slow) "bau bau" (soft) "haa sip nathi" (30 minutes) good luck

safe trip!

Thank you. Senso is, or at least used to be, a polarizing place. I think it was my first Bangkok gay massage experience and it was great. There was a spell a few years ago when I and others had some bad experiences there. I see you are a fan so I may make it back there, but it does seem very pricey. I'm based in BKK through Songkran, with some occasional side trips, so I hope more reports to come. !

Not too much to report this week. 2 revisits, one fun time with a guy from Hornet, but I'll spare you the details, and an old favorite, Hero. Hero. Hero is such an institution and everyone should visit at least once. Hero gets very busy and sometimes there is a wait for a room, so too avoid that wait I got there early - 5:00, when busy there starts really picking up. The men are in a glass walled room for you to make your selection. When I got there, there were nearly 35-40 or more guys. I think the ages range from early 20s to mid/late 30s. The boys here are men. At least when I have been there, not all of the guys are actively trying to get your attention. Some have shirts off, most had shirts on. I asked who were gay, and was told they were all lined up seated in the front of the room. Probably about 10 guys-- suggesting about 1/4 gay 3/4 "straight." My choice was an early-to-mid 20s guy with a tight, not too muscular guy, just because he struck my fancy. I did not opt for a VIP room, so got a basic smallish room with attached shower. bathrooms are in the locker-room sort of area. Hero isn't as new and luxe as Prince, but it's fine. Massage was on a table (no face cut out). My guess is the tables are about 180cm long, because I was bit longer than the table. But not a problem. Massage was very good and earnest - he was really trying to give a good real massage. Special Services were nice. All in all a good massage and good time and Here is a must-see spot just to experience such a big shop with so many many many guys. 1 hour massage 700. Minimum tip 1000. Adonis - revisit. Went about 7:00 on a Monday and there were about 12-15 guys. Guys tend to be muscular and mid-late 20s, but this time there were also 2-3 perfect younger very fit swimmer types who came out of the woodwork when I was to make my selection. I picked the guy I had seen earlier, because he had done a good job, but I definitely had some gay-regret about the other choices I could have made. Again massage was great and I think he really made the effort to reward me for being a repeat customer. Afters, if basic, were fine. I am pretty sure guys from Adonis will do out-calls or go off with you, because my guy again dropped that hint a few times. 1.5 hr 700 (pay first); 1,000 minimum tip. Baantewa - revisit. Went to Baantewa early (5:00) on Sunday. Pick from a book, and this time there were 4 guys available out of I think about 6-7. Three of the 4 available were mid-20s fit guys, and one was early 30's I think. I picked a different guy from last time and opted for one of their signature 2 hour treatments - 1 hour scrub 1 hour massage. Shower alone before, shower with assistance from the masseur after. The massage was truly excellent, which is what I have come to expect from Baantewa. Boy wore underwear throughout. Nothing was rushed, got the full 2 hrs and by the end was happy and fully satisfied. 2 hour special treatment 1,000 and 1,000 minimum tip.

Yes, I stopped by to confirm, and Uniman was locked up and dark on Saturday at 5:00pm.

I've spent 40 minutes trying to write a halfway decent note on this topic. I don't want to be preachy. I apologize. Personally, I fear that a side effect of PrEP is that it enables condom-less sex, which creates exposure to syphilis, the heps and other STDs that are rampant in BKK and around the world. I also believe that we have a duty of care towards our sexual partners, many of whom in Thailand are younger perhaps naive perhaps not aware of the risks perhaps haven't experienced the losses that we have, so I believe that we should practice and encourage the practicing of safe[r] sex. Also I have on more than one occasion had a boy desire to be barebacked because (I believe) he thought that was what I wanted and he wanted me as a partner/regular customer, which makes me think his decision not the best-informed one. Based on my personal experience with parents over-prescribed with drugs in the american fashion, I believe that doctors don't really know the long-term side-effects of many drugs, and that is certainly true of Truvada/PrEP. PrEP is great for those in the business, for those with a partner who has HIV and thus face regular exposure, and for those for whom condom use (self or partner) is a problem. PrEP is not a condom replacement because it is not foolproof and because there are so many other rampant STD's out there that make condom use still advisable unless you are in a committed safe monogamous relationship. There is a great organization called SWING active in Soi Twilight and Pattaya that provides testing and sexual health counseling among other things, but not all of the boys take advantage. Indeed, many boys who have sex with customers for money will insist that they are not money boys. Off my soapbox. Open the box of wine...... Sorry again Cheers

Can't speak to the balcony bathroom, but when i went the hand shower in the bathroom wasn't working so it was set up for pour-and-splash
-
PreP and related testing/counseling are also available at the Thai Red Cross

I think I took it off the list originally because it looked hard to get to but I agree it could be great. certainly has great guys. We'll see if I can get to it. Calendar starts to get full with the places I still want to go to and the places/guys I want to get back to!

Good idea. I will try. (Maybe an edited down version of the "review") Thanks.

Thanks. You are too kind.

Non-massage activities for your amusement. (Sorry many pictures are sideways. Can't figure it out. Lazy) For the most part, the story of January has been trying to disentangle myself from the clutches of a bar boy. Got here to BKK just ahead of New Year. Had a nice meet up and movie with an ex. Was chatting with bar boys and said I wanted to do some exploring and I wanted a traditional tattoo Sak Yant tattoo. One of the guys very enthusiastically volunteered and we're off. Early one morning we went out to a western suburb (Samut Sakhon), first stopping at the room of my guide's sister, who works in a factory. Always interesting to see how people live here. Then we went for a ceremony with a woman spiritualist who quickly huffed a bunch of cigarettes and then aided by the nicotine frenzy channeled the spirit of an old hermit wise man. He told my future, all well and good, but then it veered into the bizarre when the old man (young woman) assured my guide and me that we were destined to be together. Oh shit. After that we went and visited a holy man who gave me the tattoo. It hurt. Glad I got it. 'nuf said. The next couple weeks doing things with my guide, invariably involving shopping, eating out, all the usual. I kept on saying "just friends" in Thai, English, semaphore and anything else I could think of. Each time the boy would assert he understood, followed by the mandatory waterworks, but 12 hours later all was forgotten and we were back to square one. Went to a morlam with a few bar boys on their night off (so no bar fine) and their friends. I was the only farang there, and of course the boys wanted to be right up front where there was no place for me to hide my 6'2" gray haired self. After a few beers I relaxed and later on all sorts of local men and woman would stop by and ask to take their pictures with me. Ha! A great time was had by all, at least until the late night deafening karaoke stop for food and more beer, which the boys thought was great. Me less so. We visited lots of temples, because i wanted to and because the holy man (woman) told us we should. At every temple we would do the "fortune telling" stick mini-ritual. At Wat Saket we did this together and the result was "you will be unsuccessful in love." Well this made me happy and put my boy/guide into a true funk. Then he figured out that he hadn't lifted up the elephant statue at the proper time in the ritual, so we had to do it again. This time it was a more favorable result and my guide was now ecstatic and I was in a funk. Can't make this up. I had wanted to go "up country" for a while, and as part of a "this-is-honest-to-god-the-last-of-it" deal with the guide we went to Isaan together for a few days. If you search "what to do in Roi Et" you actually end up with several chats of people asking that very question, to get "not much of anything" as a response - and that was quite true. Roy Et city is a nice small provincial city, with some nice temples to see but not a lot else. Still for me it was cultural tourism so I had a good time. Got to see some rural living and hung out with the guide's friends and family. Christianpfc's blog has helpful info. Stayed for 4 nights at Petcharat Garden Hotel, breakfast included and a couple of beers each night poolside = about $120. Flew Nok Air which flies turbo props. As we were taxiing out to come back to Bangkok the local crew came out to wai and wave good bye, which I thought was a nice touch, until later a friend jested that she thought they were really there to pick up parts from the plane that fell off during take off. Still - I like Nok Air. Easy to book and very inexpensive. Nok Air gives you a 15kg luggage allowance, which I don't think Air Asia does. Back to BKK for the ongoing daily ritual of explaining (via Line) that no I do not want to [fill in the blank] with the bar boy. This is why I like massages.

Another update Leo-Spa. http://www.leo-spa.com I visited the zoo and because I was over that part of town and the weather was nice I had a walk (i hr?) to Leo Spa. Leo is a very nice little neighborhood massage shop that I went to few times last year when I was living in Ari. In a perfect world we would all live in 'hoods that had places like this. It is in a small townhouse and the google map on their website is accurate. Easy by taxi and a nice walk (if you like walking) or moccy from Ari BTS. There are large signs for "Bangkok Spa" at the end of the side street Leo is on. Leo is just a bit down the block on the right and there is a sign. Whenever I walk in I always get the impression that the owners are a bit surprised to see a farang. Still they are always welcoming and speak the minimum needed customer english. You can book ahead or select from a tablet. In total I think the shop has about 8-10 guys (including a freelancer), but at any given time the number available may be much more limited. This time (around 5:00) there were 4 guys available, but I've been there when only 1 was available. Most if not all of the guys are "both", so you can pick your guy knowing that role/position won't be a problem. The website also indicates a guy's size, so you can base your decision on that too if you care. (It also shows how matter-of-fact no-nonsense the shop is. I picked an early-20's type. With the exception of the free-lancer, the guys here tend to be good looking, maybe not models, guy next-door types early-to-mid 20s. Not necessarily muscular. English is sometimes ok. The rooms are very nice. One has it's own shower. Another the shower is in the hall with the bathroom. Shower alone before and after. Massage on table (no face cut out) Massage is very good in the sensual+ style. Boy wore towel during massage but still lots of contact. Towel came off for fun times, which were energetic and sincere. Came up a bit short on time. Well worth a visit. Probably best to book ahead (phone numbers and a "contact" email form are on the website). but I don't really think you will be dissatisfied. It's a very serene and civilized spot. 1.5 hour massage 800. I asked and minimum tip is 1,000.

Hi guys https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zkmDqbWFeRHQ.kSlnB4mYiLM4&usp=sharing Here is a link to a work-in-progress google map I've been working on. green=confirmed locations. Updates S52. http://www.thaimassageboy.com/S52%20Spa/boyplace.php?id=134 Line ID: s52spa@bts-on nut S52 is very easy to get too. A 10 min or less walk from BTS On Nut station, in a nice townhouse. There is a sign on the door, but it also has some gym equipment in the courtyard. You pick from a tablet. This is another smaller shop where there may be a few guys available or there may be just one. So book ahead. (Because you are picking from a picture regardless, not a problem for me.) Easy to have a Line conversation with the shop if there are "who does what" questions. I have found them very responsive. My favorite guy from last year has moved on the Body Club, so I booked a true twink this time. Shower alone before and after. Each large room has attached bathroom with shower and a massage table (no face cutout) and a mat on the floor. (I usually opt for the floor mat.) Massage was in the sensual+ style and was very good, with plenty of attention to the neck, which so many guys seem to ignore. Boy wore towel during massage and at start of afters, although it came off as the boy got more into the whole thing. Happy ending was happy, mutual, if basic. Too tiny dings - booked ahead, showed up on time still had a long wait for the boy to be ready and came up a bit short on time. I'll be back but probably pick another boy to try out. (One tiny advantage of picking off a tablet or booking ahead is that you don't have to face your previous masseur as you select someone else.) All in all a very nice shop worth giving business to, and if you find a guy who rings your bell, it's just perfect for repeat visits. Massages start at 1.5 hour. Mine was 500 (but I think it should have been 600). Minimum tip 1,000, so good on the value perspective. Men101. http://www.men101massage.com Line ID: Men 101 Massage Boys Men 101 is in Lad Prao, so a bit of a trek from the usual haunts. I went in the late afternoon so I could go by canal boat - which I very much enjoy - to Wat Klang pier and then I walked 20 minutes to Soi 101, but there were plenty of moccys and taxis at the pier. (You could also get there by combo of MRT or BTS and bus or taxi). I was saving Men 101 as a special treat because I think they have some of the most drop-dead gorgeous guys of any shop, so perhaps my expectations were just too high. For a first visit I usually just show up - which I did about 5:00. You select from pictures on a phone. I think I asked if all were gay, and I think the answer was yes, but not 100% sure. (And in this case I think gay just means not mostly straight guys, like Prince.) Manager had limited English and my Thai seemed to fail me, so when I tried to ask "Who is here now" to speed things up we would to just go back to the phone and flip through all these pictures of gorgeous guys and was told they would call who I wanted and he would be here in 10 minutes. The guys rand from very early 20s to possibly early 30s, with a focus on model good looks and swimmer builds. Made my selection and the call was made. 10 minutes turned out to be 10 minutes Thai-boy-standard time, i.e., 30 minutes or so. Getting used to that by now - and of course an issue that can be completely eliminated by booking ahead. The shop is nice Thai local and not glamorous. Expect limited to non-existent english. Rooms have a table and a mat on the floor. There is no shower. (!) Wash in the bathroom old-school, pouring room temp water over yourself. Wash alone before and after. When my guy did show up he was sporting a bit of facial hair as is now so common, which was a tiny disappointment. If you are going to offer guys by picture, they should at least be updated to show that. (I have come to accept that it is simply impossible for Thai's to take pictures without using the skin-whitening, blemish hiding, eye enlarging filters they love, but still....) Having said all that, the boy was a delightful personable chap. Massage was good sensual+ style, although I thought way way too much time spent on calves. Boy wore towel during massage and really no gratuitous body contact during massage. After massage he matter of factly said "OK you want sex?" Gotta love it. For Men 101 I think necessary to book ahead, although later in the evening there may be more guys hanging out in the shop. I will definitely be going back because there is one guy in the stable I simply must have (he wasn't available), and for the dream of him I will put up with the trek and the cold no-shower wash. If you have no such obsession, maybe not worth the trouble. 1.5 hour massage 500 minimum tip 1,000 (I got a buy-5 get 1 free card, something that Baantewa also offers.) Regards

Shameless Mack was a great resource when I was first coming to Thailand. he did a great job presenting all the key data, including a nifty little way of showing roughly how many guys and roughly what body types a shop had. I recall he also had broken down the massage shops into certain overall types. I never fully understood the categories, but my focus is on the agreed full service shops. In years past I've had rollicking good times at the supposedly no-mischief spots like Indra or Prime, but now i don't want to have a negotiation in the middle of things.

Thanks all. For the question of which boy i picked -- I know it seems strange but I don't feel comfortable naming names. This is because of just a general reluctance/privacy for the boy and because I think my experience with a particular boy might be the same OR very different from someone else's experience with the same boy. Sorry. I am working on a "google maps" map that I can share and can certainly put things together in an orderly manner once the initial survey of shops is over. But, alas, I fear nothing I do will ever come near to the now-lost great works of Shaneless Mack, to whom I owe so much....
