That's actually quite an interesting theory, a447a. It would explain some guys' behavior here.
-
Sad, really.

Okay. How about the people who run the bars that you like to frequent? Should they be locked up, too? They usually get away with their crimes because it's more lucrative to keep milking them, but let's not forget why they do get milked (and handsomely).

Too bad most chill pills are illegal in Thailand nowadays, too...
-
I see samebb is on a roll again. He's over the top as per usual, but he does have a point. It's just like with the traffic laws, any claims that they are strictly being enforced here in Thailand are obviously nonsense, but if you are the one who is caught, you really cannot complain - because you did break the law.

I'm in the no photos camp, but I think I get numazu's point. People are different, some like to dwell on the past or recall past experiences, others are more focused on the future and/or have no time for extended trips down memory lane. I don't think there's anything wrong with taking photos as long as it's agreed on, and many Thai guys are definitely just like numazu described himself in that regard, they document their lives in photos as well.

To be nice to the OP, if you cannot find Soi Twilight, let us know and we will tell you where to find it.

I'd say Phuket meets all of these requirements.

That's what I like to tell them, too, "It will make you look even more beautiful!"...

z909, I really cannot make any sense of your explanation. ryanasia has left me with the impression of being perfectly genuine, both on this site and elsewhere. He offered credible and refreshing insight into both his past as a Western money boy and into his current life. Others, too, have commented to the same effect, and some of those have met the man behind the online persona in person. Beachlover, on the other hand, by all appearances was an entirely fake forum persona. Taking a charitable look at your post, the only parallel I can see is that they got banned. But even that is a flawed argument, because ryanasia didn't get banned for the same reason. As you don't have anything more substantial to offer, I'll stay with my "nonsense" verdict. Defaming a former/banned member who cannot respond anymore is also poor form.

I don't take pics of them and they don't take pics of me. Win-win, no leakage possible.
-
What was the crime, anyway? Wasn't the fact that he was underage discovered before anything untoward happened? That's how I understood it. Maybe what the bar did was criminal, but no surprises there!
-
Maybe tease us with a photo of some landmark in that new town, that will make it easier to take an educated guess?
-
Care to provide any proof for that claim? Sounds like nonsense to me, but you wouldn't just make that up, would you?

Banning backpacks from malls isn't practical in any way or form. On any given day, thousands of newbie tourists descend on Bangkok's malls, willing to spend money. Then there are those Bangkokians who are on their way back from school or work, often also carrying a backpack or bag. How could you expect the malls to reject them? They'll simply keep doing what they are doing while praying that all will be fine.

That's the spirit! Welcome back!

I'd also love to see Vessey resume posting trip reports. Especially an update regarding Vit, I pretty much fell in love with him just from reading Vessey's reports!

steveboy, I don't agree that banning you from that thread or the posts critical of your conduct that have led to Scooby doing that constitute a witch hunt. In my opinion, it was a measured response; you didn't lose your posting privileges altogether, but do need to clean up your act. I see trip reports as a gift to the community by those who are willing to spend a considerable amount of time and effort to write these. As with any other gift, I believe that those who don't like it should simply do the polite thing and remain silent. Feedback in trip report threads should be limited to encouragement, questions if you need clarification on tips given and the likes. Nobody who posts trip reports should be subjected to insults, derision, mockery or insinuations. If you want to criticize a certain lifestyle that you don't like, do so in a new thread without making reference to any particular poster. In other words, criticize the behavior you dislike, not the poster(s), and don't use it as a means to derail another thread. As you don't pay for numazu's lifestyle, I wonder why you think that you are entitled to question if or how he finds the time to work to finance it. That really is none of your business and your insinuations are not just silly, but also insulting. Just why do you think that numazu or any other poster should have to suffer from being subjected to that kind of nonsense? I don't see any reason why posting such crap should be tolerated!

You are right, that would be quite a juicy spot during rush hour. Quite a risk.
-
I agree. The checks they perform are plain ridiculous every single time I've had a chance to watch them. Just a nuisance and waste of time with no real security benefit.
-
The last time they wanted to check my backpack entering Makkasan station, I was a bit in a rush and walked right past the guy. Thai security guards are usually pretty meek. The downside is that any terrorist would probably get away with the same.
-
Vessey, I don't think you look that bad on that photo you've posted.

HCMC is a GREAT place to meet hot Vietnamese guys. Just use the apps (Hornet and Grindr work well for me) to get in touch.
