Don't worry too much, the Thai government will soon be having other and much more pressing issues to deal with (don't take my word for it, keep following the news). That crackdown didn't have a lot of steam from the start anyway.
-
I also don't see the need to attempt to protect members of a society against all dangers coming from other members, not least because it would be futile anyway. People will always get hurt thanks to what other people do to them, by accident or otherwise. Christian, following the logic you've applied, you will need to ban kitchen knives as well: 99 people buy it to cut the usual kitchen fare, one deranged one buys it to chop up her husband. What's the solution here?

Hahaha, that's hilarious, maybe they should have edited these texts before actually going online. But no big deal.

Too bad they've removed the horse meat from their supply chain. I still had the pleasure of eating their horse meat balls in the early days of IKEA Bangna. I didn't know that back then though.

Legalization is the best solution. Those prone to overdosing will continue to die, minus those who now OD merely by accident due to quality / inconsistent purity issues, but for the remaining 99% and society as a whole, things would be much better. Hard-core addicts would continue to cause problems, but I don't think their numbers would rise if it were legalized.

Are you for real? Some Thai-grade security guards putting up anything of substance against terrorists having similar capabilities and resolve as those who have been terrorizing France?

Bangkok/Pattaya June-July 2016 Trip Report: To Butterfly or not to Butterfly
Alexx replied to numazu's topic in Gay Thailand
Sure, that he had 40,000 baht in cash and lost it sounds quite unlikely, but if true, I think he should be forgiven for not having a bank account. Even if he's familiar with the concept (a big if in itself, many people in Cambodia don't have bank accounts to this day!), opening a bank account in Thailand as a Cambodian who supposedly has neither a long-term visa nor a work permit isn't really that easy. He's not exactly the kind of customer a Thai bank is eager to woo. -
Right, but maybe you could try a gay sauna closer to home, where many mature farang are. If you live in London, fly to Berlin, something like that...

Ha, z909, good point! Many of my straight, married friends are not allowed to visit me in Bangkok, their wives would go nuts...

Why, what's better than remembering those who have passed away in all their former glory.

Buying someone a fish vs. teaching someone to fish, classic. Sponsoring someone who ultimately doesn't have the drive or the skills to improve their life ultimately only provides temporary relief. That's not really something the sponsor can hope to control, but I think you do get better at figuring out early on if your sponsorship will fall on fertile ground.

Yeah I think Bangkok isn't the best place for that, most mature gay farang who are into other mature farang probably wouldn't travel to Thailand. Try a gay sauna back home? They tend to attract plenty of mature guys.

Funny Boys Gogo Bar on Pattayland Soi 3 (Boyztown )

Let's make sure he can read your words of praise. -
Looks great all around! I like the Ekkamai area as well, the only reason why I ultimately chose Asoke over Thong Lor or Ekkamai was access to the MRT (to get to work quickly). I'm sure you'll have a blast there.

Since his hobby is pole-dancing, let me guess that the new destination is Poland...

With all due respect, people who really know how to write Thai instead of just copying & pasting words do tend to know that it's unusual to separate words within the same sentence by spaces. Which makes me wonder if you're the best candidate to question other members' proficiency.

I'm sure Gaybutton didn't suggest to give a boy 1000 baht for a return bus fare and send him on his way, in fact he actually mentioned spending money as well. And that's an important part of that gift: When someone works far away and comes back to visit, it's often expected but at least appreciated that they bring gifts and have some money to spend - sweets for the children, beers or (heaven forbid) lao khao for the adults (friends & family), food, etc. It's not necessarily a cheap gift.

Indeed. They even deemed it necessary to post notes in the shower area to warn that any indecent acts performed are against the law. That was definitely the cruisiest gym I've ever been to.

Since there are many millions of voters, there can be no doubt whatsoever that some educated and intelligent ones voted for Leave. That doesn't mean that it isn't fair to say that the educated and intelligent overwhelmingly voted for Remain, however. What shocks me is less the result than the banana republic way that referendum was designed and carried out: No clear plan was put to the vote, just an intention, so it was and still is impossible for those who voted Leave to know what exactly they will actually get. The main proponents have the option to simply leave the political stage (get their lives back lol) and let others deal with the consequences. Quite a mess, I think.

So true. Even with those who move overseas, enthusiastic to start a new life and seemingly gone forever, they are often back after a surprisingly short time. -
It got me confused, too, until I read about it. Now I think it's pretty cool.
