  1. The author seems to ignore the fact that other groups petition the current government and "ask for favors", too. Singling out the gay community is more than just a bit disingenuous. And why not keep pushing for marriage equality, regardless of the government of the day? Thailand has had so many coups and has been under military rule for long periods of time. Why let that time go to waste when you want change?
  2. Ah, that sounds very familiar, I'd bet many if not most Thai money boys have the very same regret later in their lives. Maybe that regret is more real in their case though, with the exception of a few lucky ones.
  3. Some of our members are probably older than that and - by all appearances - still going strong...
  4. Okay, I guess that will have to do.
  5. I can just picture that. "Koko, hansum man, come sit and more!"...
  6. Extra points for the first board member who posts a video of enjoying himself with a boy on the ferry. Is there an equivalent of the mile high club, just with boats?
  7. I'm really curious what they might look like. Could you post a pic of those shorts for the benefit of us poor souls who've never had the pleasure of meeting you?
  8. That's pretty much what I thought and I'm glad that he regrets how things got out of hand. I remember earlier contributions by samebb that were positive and well-received; hopefully he will get back to that once his suspension ends.
  9. Because samebb is the guy with a twisted view of what friendship is? Just a guess.
  10. Ryan, I agree 100% on the conformity aspect, it's quite mind boggling when you stop to think about it. I hope the immigration/visa process will go well for you and your husband.
  11. Ah, but then these gay social media are even better...
  12. I'd question the wisdom of referring a Thai guy to this site. I think they are much better off using sites/apps such as PlanetRomeo, Grindr and Hornet to get in touch with foreigners who might be interested in their services.
  13. Maybe it's a jeepney and you are in the Philippines? If I am right, I will use my bonus points towards future trip reports posted by you.
  14. I think it's fair to say that he didn't do himself any favor by posting that photo here.
  15. I'm amused that someone would have cared enough about Neal's threats to actually change hotels. Wouldn't a better strategy to deal with that bully have been to completely ignore his blubbering?
  16. Danang has nightlife, but not the kind of nightlife some on here might have in mind.
  17. Hornet is definitely more popular than Grindr anywhere in Thailand outside of Bangkok; in areas less touristy than Hua Hin to an even bigger extent. In Bangkok, my view is somewhat mixed, the total numbers are higher here for Hornet as well, but a higher percentage of those on Grindr is in my target group (and interested in me as well).
  18. Just like in Bangkok, then?
  19. They could have decided to deport him, but they didn't. This fine in itself doesn't affect his current or potential future stays in Thailand. I recall the story of a German couple who were caught having sex on temple grounds. That was considered more severe, so while their fine was pretty low as well, that's when their holiday abruptly ended - they were deported. Similar stories from Cambodia, where tourists took nude pics at Angkor Wat and received suspended prison sentences.
  20. Pons Crespo Arnau, you have been a very naughty boy. Keep it up.
  21. All I can say is that I've buried many health and fitness fetishists. Bottom line, they probably died a lot healthier than I can hope for...
  22. But for anything else, there really are better options!
  23. It's mostly rivalries between technical and other vocational colleges, often going on since a long time. Increasingly violent or just more thoroughly reported nowadays? Who knows! In any case, sometimes their confrontations end deadly, either for gang members or bystanders. Some random news reports, you can find many more if you search for "college gangs thailand" or similar: https://www.pri.org/stories/2010-09-18/thailand-tech-school-wars https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/technical-college-gang-brawl-result-23-arrests-pathumthani/ https://asiancorrespondent.com/2015/07/gang-wars-tackling-thailands-vocational-college-violence/
  24. You do know the purpose of emoticons, don't you? The one I used in the post of mine that you quoted indicates that what I wrote was (half) in jest. We're not in a position to have a serious discussion about their relationship, and it's none of our business anyway. Just some light-hearted banter about a news report, as far as I'm concerned. On a more serious note, however, I think it's a good thing that same-sex couples who feel deeply committed to their relationship hold such wedding ceremonies. Their families and friends probably enjoy it just like any other wedding, and society as a whole might also become more open-minded as a result.
  25. The other guy is probably rich. Case closed.
