  1. I do carry with me my coin purse, and whenever I find the mamasan particularly annoying, I give her(him) a one baht coin. It I'm tipping the waiter, I leave a 20 baht note. I'll scoop up all the coins to be used later on public transport & small purchases.
  2. The onus is on the Thai boy. Does he want to improve his social standing and become independent. If he's motivated enough to finish a basic course(with the help of a well-intentioned sponsor), there is still hope that he will continue with his school or college or professional certificate that will enable him to get a steady & secure job outside the meat market. There are many anecdotes about well-motivated students who work and study at the same time. I came across a lady who belonged to a minority group in Vietnam when I was trekking in Sapa. She claimed that she was illiterate (not able to read or write Vietnamese and English), and that she learned English from daily interactions with tourists. Her command of spoken English was good enough to enable her to guide tourists around the ethnic villages. She was evidently well-motivated out of sheer necessity.
  3. Be generous guys. Make your new companion in Vietnam an instant millionaire.
  4. Pay the boys by the hour, and there will be fewer worries about loyalty and the real worth of the contract.
  5. Correct me if I'm wrong. Are the boys in Cambodia getting smaller tips from you compared to their counterparts in Thailand? Any reason for this perception?
  6. In Japan some geriatric porn actors are quite popular with their own followers. Life goes on...
  7. The gogo boys not only take pride in their dressing, but some of them sport elaborate coiffure and make-up, although I frequently noticed some poor choice of foundation for the face and neck.
  8. Go go bars want your money, Mamasans want your money, Hornet guys want your money, Romeo guys want your money. But at least you get to inspect the agogo boys. In the end, it's all about money & your desire.
  9. Poor countries(but their governments aren't necessarily so) are in the habit of extracting money from their population who are mostly poor.
  10. Just pay your boy du jour the necessary incentives and he'll gladly take care of your problem follicle by follicle.
  11. Some moneyboys do travel in comfort and style.
  12. I think Toy Boys in Boystown is capitalizing on its location. 50 metres up the road you can ogle at twinks in Cupidol for 50 baht less for drinks. Dreamboys in Bangkok is a show bar whereas Toy Boys is basically agogo, hence the big price difference.
  13. Oh she came, she did really come!
  14. When a boy asks to sit with you, do you tip him, and how much in this case? Is this an ethical issue?
  15. Carry on with your plans, if you don't mind being propositioned to.
  16. Your dream is actually quite interesting. Bring all the gogo bars to soi 3 and let the massage shops occupy soi 2. When I go to the gogo bars, I don't like overenthusiastic masseurs blocking my way and pulling me arms to get my business.
  17. Try some beaches in Sihanoukville. Lots of local folks especially at weekend.
  18. +1. Unless it's at a private party, or behind the screens with your specially chosen guests.
  19. Do staunch Chinese Christians in Singapore celebrate this festival in the traditional way?
  20. Someone enlighten him please...
  21. Chinese is for Chinese. There are more than 3,000 languages other than Chinese in the whole of Asia
  22. How about him doing you the favour before he goes to work? hah!
