or someone reports you for asking "how much" - as there is paranoia on both sides (supposed worker + potential client) with the way that Grinder polices their app traffic - which in my opinion should be confidential.
-
This is one of the many reasons that I HATE Grindr. They try to play GOD too much and consequently hurt our desperate guys who are trying to make a living. Then for us on the consumer side - we can't find the guys we want because they are not on Grindr for a myriad of reasons. Grindr is like a broken kaleidoscope that prevents us from seeing the many many guys who are actually willing and available. Just compare the number of profiles visible in Pattaya of Grindr versus Hornet for example = many more are visible and available in Hornet. Also, Grindr is very expensive (when compared to the other apps) and they are always upselling additional services for things that are basic on other apps - like to be able to see who visited my profile. Grindr acts like RyanAir where they try to make you pay for every single basic feature.

I would agree with your assessment @Olddaddy, - IF you are in vacation mode with limited time, then Bangkok has much more to offer. Pattaya is more laid back in slow mode. The days are long until the night life wakes up. During the day in Pattaya you can: go to the Sanuk sauna https://sansukthailand.com/ go to the Dongtan gay beach and relax, converse with the other gay visitors, get a massage, eat, drink, or get a massage or pedicure https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JoP3wf-Mio This Thai guy presents on his Youtube channel a LGBT tour - at video timestamp = 2:35 he gets to Dongtan beach go into the Jomtien Supertown Complex and visit some of the many massage shops https://jomtiencomplex.com/jomtien-complex-gay-massage/ go shopping in Pattaya city center at Central Festival and/or Terminal 21 start early in the morning and venture over to Koh Larn island and swim, relax, tan on one of their lovely beaches with clean transparent turquoise blue water

As you discovered in your previous trip here - Thailand is not known for "well endowed" guys like the guys are in the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Venezuela - or as the guys in the below report as published by The Sun: https://www.thesun.co.uk/health/28338263/map-countries-with-biggest-penises-and-breasts/

and this sage advice is VERY true - as I found out back when I lived in Budapest and my 2 Adonis masseurs came to my apartment to give me a 4 hands massage and I was so hungry prior (due to my then stressful job where massive overtime was required I was often running in the nik of time from the office to my home for whatever appointment I had) to the appointment that I stopped to quickly eat some Hungarian goulash = BIG mistake - because as the 2 Adonis' were pushing down on my body (with my stomach facing down) I could feel the goulash coming up from my stomach towards my throat where I had to quickly excuse myself and dispose of my dinner into the toilet in order to be able to continue the massage - it was quite embarrassing as they could hear me in the toilet. So, lesson learned - better to be hungry and famished PRIOR to a massage than full and satisfied (temporarily). but, we were still ALL able to obtain our happy endings....

Haha I'm not really much of a drinker so no alcohol is ok with me. It's just kinda disappointing that the bars would be closed on Thurs cos I love watching the shows there 😕 I agree with the above suggested action plan for Thursday. I am a "pensioner", since 2 years here, and when these types of Buddhist holidays would occur, I found myself in amazement (I was not yet indoctrinated into the Thai ways - which are VERY similar to the Italian ways of getting around the law found in Italy - where they have a word dedicated to this activity = "scappatoia") when we were at the beach with my volleyball friends and they said to me - we need to get some beer and drinks to liven things up here - as all of the bars are closed. But I replied, "we cannot - it is illegal to buy alcohol for these 24 hours..." They all laughed at me - as the Thais truly love when us farangs are bewildered. One of them said to me, come with me, and I will show you how it is done. We went to a local "mom and pop" store (situated right next to a 7-Eleven - where ALL of the 2 alcohol selling zones were taped off with prohibition signs) and my Thai friend told the cashier / owner - what he wanted and she made it happen - she looked around for anyone that might rat her out and determined that the coast was clear, and I paid and we left with 2 bags of alcohol (beer, whisky, ice, cups, and snacks) and we returned back to the beach on Jomtien soi 9 I believe. I was truly amazed and I kept saying WOW - at 7-Eleven this was a BIG NO NO but at the "mom and pop" store next door it was a BIG YES YES. My friends had a good laugh at my bewilderment and they told me - Welcome to Thailand. @Foolish - another idea that you can do is around 5:30 pm (everyday) - you can walk over to the Jomtien - Dongtan gay beach area - in front of the Pattaya Tower and Water Park - right next to the Sea Rescue station - you can watch the gay volleyball which can be fun. If you offer to buy the volleyball players some refreshments - you might be rewarded with some entertainment during the night.

Myself and another forum member, we decided to see the Tiffany Show last night here in Pattaya. The Tiffany facility is huge and is situated very close to Terminal 21 in Pattaya. They have 3 back-to-back shows every day at 18:00, 19:30, and 21:00. We had 2 VIP Gold seats at 2,300 baht each. The show has a duration of about 1 hour and consists of 13 amazing performances: Pattaya The Glory Flare Be Italian I Am What I Am Maharaja Saigon Arirang Je Ne Sais Quoi Reflections The Magic Stone Tsarist Russia Tiffany's Follies One Man, One Woman The theatre was about 80% full and I would estimate that 80% of the crowd was Asian - predominantly Chinese. The show is great and well worth the price to see it and what impressed me the most were: The ever changing scenography on the stage - done in such a quick continuous way as each scene concluded and commenced. The use of hi-tech digital lighting and lots of amazing neon lights was truly impressive, The performers, both the lady boys and the male dancers were very talented, The originality of the individual sets - that was a very good mix of most of the cultures that visit Pattaya - very smart - from Thai, Indian, Vietnamese, Chinese, Italian, American, Russian, etcetera - there was something for everyone. Energy - as the show is very energetic and entertaining I felt like I drank 7 cups of coffee when I left feeling very satisfied. So, if you are visiting Pattaya, I highly suggest a visit to see the Tiffany Show https://www.tiffany-show.co.th/ Also, for a very entertaining smaller scaled down version, you can also see the Cabaret show at the M2M bar in the Jomtien Supertown Complex. https://www.facebook.com/people/M2M-Bar-Club-Cabaret/100063975036102/ I share some random images from the Tiffany Show - unfortunately, they were prohibiting us from taking photos/videos by pointing green laser lights onto anyone who had their phone camera out who was filming - so I could not capture my FAVORITE scenography - of the electrical neon intensive backdrop of Pattaya - as if it was from Walking Street - very well done - reminiscent of scenes from last year's "Pattaya Heat" movie - which I truly enjoyed.

Send in dollars to Thailand and let Thai bank convert?
bkkmfj2648 replied to Shonen's topic in Gay Thailand
Hi @Shonen, I do my inbound $ transfers into Thailand via the WISE app, as they give me the benefit of: fair near interbank rate, low fees, fast - can be same day if you get the timing correct {bank cutoff in Thailand is respected} or by next business day, --> most importantly, I can attach the reason onto the transfer to show that this transfer is for retirement purposes - the Thai immigration people like to see this designation when we go to renew/extend our retirement visas. https://wise.com/gb/currency-converter/usd-to-thb-rate -
and this is not ONLY a Tawan = The One problem it is almost EVERYWHERE in the gay Thailand world - this FAILURE to implement basic marketing strategies. They will complain that they have no money and no customers but won't take that step to market and/or market themselves to make them visible. Here in Jomtien, so many of the local guys complain that they don't get enough customers but when I look at their app footprint I see the following problems: they only use Hornet and their entire profile is ONLY in the Thai language. I tell them if you want to reach the farang (non Thai) potential client base you need to insert some English words into your profile, many of them do not use Grindr - I keep telling them if you want to get non-Thai customers you need to have a presence on Grindr - as that is where most of the farangs hang out when they do their guy searching via apps. Unfortunately, I have heard horrible stories where if someone reports you as being a money boy (MB) on Grindr or by Grindr themselves they block them at the mobile phone level - meaning that if they even change the email that Grindr associates them with - that Grindr will still block them as somehow Grindr can see the device ID and know that it is them that they already blocked, the Heesay app (formerly BLUED) is really only used by a subset of the larger Asian population (China ? Korea? and some in Thailand). Again, I tell them to insert English words into their Heesay profile, Fear that their "friends" will learn that they are a money boy - so they write their profiles in such a way that a person visiting Thailand would have NO clue that they are available for hire. As for the massage shops here in Jomtien - they are their worst enemy - as the shop owners do not do any marketing of their guys and/or shops like they do in Bangkok - so the guys are left alone to their own devices for marketing purposes. Generally, the guys do not implement a self-promotion marketing plan and prefer to sit on those plastic chairs outside of these small massage shops for 6 to 8 hours a day waiting for that one farang who might chose them. They get desperate, especially if they have only had one customer in a given week. Furthermore, many are freelance - and so the shop does not pay them a salary and if they get a non-Thai customer and that person is not accustomed to giving a tip (on which they survive on to pay the rent and eat) their situation becomes quite dire - as it is very difficult to live on a 20 baht tip. Again, I fault the managers / owners of these small shops for not properly "educating" the incoming customers. In Bangkok, many of the massage shops are quite explicit and clear about how much you (the client) are supposed to tip the masseur as it relates to the requested service.

In the case of the police raiding the 32 elderly who were playing bridge in early 2016 - Barry told us that he believed it was due to: "Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, Nor hell a fury like a woman scorned" as perhaps, if I remember correctly, a woman who was one of the former partners of one of the bridge players reported them to the police as revenge ?? I imagine the same could happen if a gay guy suddenly finds himself jilted for another gay replacement ? 🤔 Worse than the "talk to the hand" treatment ?

Read these 2 news story from February 2016 when the local Pattaya police arrested 32 elderly foreigners who were playing bridge. https://www.pattayamail.com/news/gambling-charges-likely-will-be-dropped-against-foreign-bridge-players-55700 https://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/elderly-bridge-players-arrested-in-thailand-get-passports-back/6ubrp8b6y If you are a member of PCEC (Pattaya City Expat Club) and Barry Kenyon is presenting on a topic - he often brings up this story, as he was one of the 30 foreigners who were arrested. So, not the first time that the Pattaya police chasing foreigners for playing a card game.

Unfortunately no, because I now order in my massages to my condo room instead of going to the local massage shops. I do my bookings via 2 separate friends who organize masseurs for me from their vast pool of local guys. However, when I first moved here 2 years ago, I was frequenting both the Foxy Smile and Pattaya #1 Health massage shops - they are right next to each other and very near to Soda massage. As I like the more manly type of masseurs, both the Buriram and @The Beach massage shops tend to have more masculine masseurs.

In keeping with the theme of this thread created by @macaroni21, a random feed came up on my Youtube feed of an interview by someone I do not know, Tommie McDonald, former porn producer I believe in the UK, who now is a podcaster, of his channel, Offbeat - Tommie, @Offbeatme on Twitter (X) and on the web at: https://offbeatshow.com/ In this Youtube video he interviewed, Dr. Joe Kort, PhD, LMSW, who I have been following for years, as he is my hero - as he invented the new sexual position category of SIDE, thus liberating us sides who were formerly stuck in the TOP closet. https://joekort.com/ I found this Youtube video fascinating and it answers many of the questions brought up in our forum thread. Let me know what you all think? I also learned a new terminology = cashsexual = where a person is turned on by money if you pay them to have sex - discussed in the video at minute = 6:44 Enjoy. p.s. I did not know who Tommie McDonald was so I read a Metro UK article about him: https://metro.co.uk/2022/07/05/13-questions-youve-always-wanted-to-ask-a-male-sex-worker-answered-16900821/

and this my friend - is the HARDEST part of life to accept. So, we need to cherish those moments with our young guys when the moments come along and to not live too much in the past, or we could make ourselves depressed. In my condo room, I have a wall of photos, and some of them are of myself when I was young - often the Thai guys when they come to my room for my 4 hands massage they will gravitate to these photos and on some occasions they will ask me, "wow - who is that hot guy?" I reply, "that was me when I was twenty something or early thirty something...". Then I would say to them, "look what happened to that guy" as I point to my current self - and we have a good polite laugh.... 🤔😮😃

Lively seminar about men’s sexual health
bkkmfj2648 replied to reader's topic in Health, Nutrition and Fitness
Dear @unicorn, many thanks for sharing with me/us your concerns on my ED journey. If I am honest with myself, it is more than 10 years that I have been struggling with ED and I have tried many different treatments over the years. My doctor orders blood work every month and all of my levels are healthy and ok - and I have had 4 months of results so far. If you know of any other ED treatments please share them here with all of us - because in 6 more weeks when I will conclude the ED shockwave therapy - if it is not successful - I will be looking for other alternative solutions. With my current TRT doctor - we have discussed what alternatives that remain if the ED shockwave therapy is not a success and I do not like any of these "end of the road" solutions, which are: PIT - Penile Injection Therapy - similar to what I was doing with the PT-141 peptide injection into the stomach abdomen - but instead the injection (self injected) is made directly into the penis where the prescribed medications can be: Rimix, Bimix, or Papaverine, Penile Prosthesis - which requires invasive penile surgery where they insert a prosthesis into your penis. These "end of the road" solutions do not appeal to me, so I think that I would just return to full-time use of the PDE5 inhibitors and live with the fact that sex can no longer be spontaneous and that I need to accept the side-effects of said inhibitors for the remainder of my life. -
Hi @emiel1981, I am not sure if you saw the Massage Insider on X post by @TotallyOz back in June 2024 ? These are Thai run chat groups. I also joined these Twitter (X) LINE massage forums - as I wrote about here: One of these massage forums on LINE recently posted some comments about Maxwell - The Samsung AI auto-translates the LINE chat conversations from Thai to English and you need to be aware that it is not always gender nor person (1st person, 2nd person, 3rd person) correct - so you need to imagine what was really said. Hopefully this extra information can help you decide if you will visit this Maxwell place = https://www.maxwellonsen.com/ as it looks very nice. And if you do, please report back on what your visit was like.

Lively seminar about men’s sexual health
bkkmfj2648 replied to reader's topic in Health, Nutrition and Fitness
Time for an update. I have completed 5 months of TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy) and the results are: predictable erection resolution? partially. I still have a dependency on PDE5 inhibitors (cialis, sideagra, viagra, etc.), more muscle mass as a result of returning to the gym and TRT, assertiveness - a noticeable increase due to my elevated testosterone levels - in excess of 1,300. Doctor asked me if I was happy and I told him: returning to the gym after 10 years has lowered my blood pressure and I am happy that I could stop with the related blood pressure medications, I am not happy with the unpredictability of my erections - as this was the expectation from TRT - where I had hoped to shed the dependency on the PDE5 inhibitors So, doctor prescribed to me peptide PT-141 (Bremelanotide), which you self inject at home into your belly abdomen area. The PT-141 was SUPER effective - when I needed an erection it was there and very erect - however, the main drawback is that erections were coming and going spontaneously throughout the day and night - interrupting sleep. So, after a couple of weeks on PT-141 - I stopped as I did not like the side effects - as the PDE5 inhibitors rarely give me spontaneous erections like the PT-141 does. Now we are on the next phase of ED (Erectile Dysfunction) treatment, which is ED Shockwave Treatment. Unfortunately, my TRT's clinic does not offer this service so I had to find one and I found the Yada Clinic here in Pattaya and today, 04-Oct-2024, I had my first shockwave treatment. Included in their elevated price, is: 15 minute treatment with the BTL shockwave machine pressed onto various areas of your penis by the female technician (It has been WAY too many years since a woman has had her fingers on my penis - no arousal as I was VERY tense about what was about to happen to my penis {note they don't have male technicians}). The wand applicator is pressed onto your penis and electrical shockwaves penetrate your penis - the technician adjusts the shockwave value to a level that you can tolerate - I made it to 48%. She told me that the average is around 50%. I will try to go to 50% next week. Is it painful? kind of - but it is tolerable - as it is not constant but comes in short bursts with intervals between the sets of bursts. BTL Shockwave applicator after I got up off of the ED shockwave table After completing the 15 minute shockwave treatment you move to the next machine = MSsculpt and sit on a chair for 30 minutes where the purpose of this machine is to provide you with pelvic muscle strengthening by electrically stimulating the ischiocavernosus muscle --> read more here at: https://hermanwallace.com/blog/pelvic-muscle-rehabilitation-and-mens-sexual-health This was not painful and actually rather enjoyable - as the machine cycles through various electrical stimulations at different speeds that are stimulating your pelvic muscle region. you sit on this contraption for 30 minutes My goal for this ED shockwave therapy is to eliminate the dependency on PDE5 inhibitors and also eventually TRT. The Yada doctor tells me that once you complete 13 treatments (6 weeks at 2 times per week) you should be good to go with an erect penis for 6 months to 1 year - which would be great for me instead of doing TRT injections 2 times a week for the rest of my life. After all was said and done today - I felt like Frankenstein - like in one of the comical scenes from Young Frankenstein with Gene Wilder My ex does not like that I am doing all of this as he says that I will kill and short circuit my dick and that I should just accept to give up sex. I replied to him that I did not move to the other side of the planet to one of the sex capitals of the world to give up sex. He did not like this comment because Pattaya is now going through this recent societal phase of Pattaya is no longer "sin city" = hahahaha..... I share all of this information with you forum members - as I don't mind to be a guinea pig and to embarrass myself with what I am sure will be some belittling comments - but my real hope is for those forum members who suffer from ED - to not give up and to know that there are many possible solutions so that you do not need to give up on the joys of sex. Related information for those who want to know more: Video on how the Yada Clinic uses the BTL machine on your penis. Below link to the Yada Clinic information about the Focus Shockwave therapy that they employ: https://www.doctoryadaclinic.com/focus-shockwave-for-erectile-dysfunction/ Update recently published by Buzzin Pattaya on his Youtube channel regarding his success with TRT. In the video is my doctor that I am very happy with - even though my body did not obtain the desired to be able to drop the dependency on the need for PDE5 inhibitors. I will update this thread after I have completed the 13 shockwave and pelvic strengthening sessions - in about 6 to 7 weeks. -
as an ex-banker - that really made me chuckle.....

The said laser pointers were introduced by the managers in Jupiter. The managers were using these laser pointers to help the customers to pinpoint (hone in) on the desired guy(s) that the customer wanted the manager to bring them over to their seat. I had never seen these laser pointers before and I saw the difficulty that the manager was having in trying to get the descriptive words out of the 2 female customers about which guys they wanted - as there seemed to be a communication problem when the manager would point the green laser light on what he thought was the desired guy that the customer wanted and it wasn't. So, my idea was, why not just give the laser pointer directly to the customer and streamline the process instead of trying to communicate in a noisy bar during a show with an intermediary (the manager mamasan) who may or may not understand which guy it is that you want. The way that the Jupiter shows work - the guys do not always have their numbers on their bodies - hence the need for the manager to use a laser pointer. The Jupiter management only allows for the numbers on their bodies at certain set intervals - so if a customer wants to have the company of a guy or to off a guy he/she needs to involve the manager - as there is no other way available to make the transaction happen.

Thanks for replying @macaroni21 - I find your spot on perspectives very eye-opening. From what I see what the Asians give emphasis to it is very different then what made early Pattaya famous (as we are no longer allowed to utter the words "sin city") as an R&R destination for tired and horny military in the nearby wars back in the 1960s and 1970s. Yes, I have seen this also for some of the Russian bars/clubs on Walking Street. Here in Jomtien, there is a Russian restaurant near Hemingways that plays Russian music on the street that leads into their restaurant. Thanks for sharing that Asian music with us - it is beautiful and it would be nice if at least one of the 30+ bars in the Jomtien Complex would play it. I would add an additional point to what you wrote above. For us expats that live here (we are not here on vacation), some of us have taken to Thai music - as it is our host country and I truly enjoy listening to it. One time I asked one of my dear Thai friends who owns a bar in Supertown as to why he never plays Thai music. He told me that they are forbidden to play Thai music if they don't agree to pay the equivalent of the Thai Music Association royalty fees which the Complex can arrange for said bar in their rental contract. This explains why almost 100% don't play any Thai music - however, I note that when some of the guys who work in the Complex make the occasional "private" party - that they will play Thai music - that being mostly Thai Mor Lam music from Isaan and Laos. Speaking of Mor Lam music - I went to my first Mor Lam concert here in Pattaya last night (02-Oct-2024). I am not a big fan of Mor Lam music - but I do have to say that the Mor Lam show was spectacular and colorful - I would suggest to our forum members if you want to experience an amazing Thai cultural event this is one of them. We were a large group - my gym trainer initiated this outing with my Thai friend who organizes my 4 hands massages - we were like 20 people drinking, watching, dancing, and just being silly. Many many gay guys were there that you would see either on the gay Jomtien beach hangout areas of soi 4 and soi 12 and also from Supertown. And this is why I chose to retire in Asia (South East Asia) instead of in Europe or the USA. I try to absorb their culture as much as possible.
