World’s largest carved Buddha image 30-minute drive from Pattaya
bkkmfj2648 replied to reader's topic in Gay Pattaya
When I was taking my motorbike lessons earlier this year with my volleyball friend - our graduation finale was to drive our motorbikes to Khao Chi Chan from Jomtien. It was a great trip, but I recall it taking 1 or 2 hours to get there from Jomtien. Maybe we drove like 2 old grandmothers? I remember driving cautiously but at a good pace. My Google timeline confirms that the first segment of our trip was 14 miles and took 50 minutes and then the second segment was another 14 miles and took 1 hour: -
Elite Bronze offers challenge to Destination Thailand Visa
bkkmfj2648 replied to reader's topic in The Beer Bar
It appears to be lumped in with the other Elite types of visas, which are subject to the need to pay Thailand PIT taxes if you are deemed as a tax resident (residing more than 180 days in the Kingdom in a calendar year). I believe that the ONLY visa that gives a tax exemption is the Thailand BOI (Board of Investment) LTR (Long Term Resident) Wealthy Pensioner visa. But this has a HIGH passive income requirement of $80,000 USD per year verifiable via your home country tax return in the prior 2 years from when you apply. Below is the hyperlink to the official web page. https://ltr.boi.go.th/ -
And this is SO SO SO SO true. So, be very careful with whom you allow yourself to fall in love with.

I strongly endorse this as part of the philosophy = "Birds of the same feather {tend} to flock together".

I agree. Except, I would substitute the word "Bangkok" with "Thailand" 🤩 -
The origins and allure of Thailand’s famous Walking Streets

These articles seem to be under the influence of flowery, over-the-top, AI GPT systems. I would love to see the AI PROMPT that was used to create it. -
I agree, as the Thai baht has remained strong against the Myanmar currency. Furthermore, the Myanmar junta often demands via legislation that some of these foreign remittances go to them to support their war. This has put some of the Thai banks in difficulty, as they are inadvertently helping to fund this war when Myanmar nationals remit their wages earned in Thailand back home. https://edition.cnn.com/2024/06/27/asia/myanmar-junta-weapons-thailand-banks-intl-hnk/index.html

In my trip report from Koh Tao earlier this year - 90% of the workers on the island (Turtle Island) were Myanmar nationals. We often asked them if they were happy to live and work on the island and the answer was almost = YES. The irony was that hardly any of them spoke Thai and my Thai friend was so perplexed that hardly anyone on Koh Tao could speak Thai. So, Thailand wants the millions of baht income that comes from tourists - but they don't want to support the foreign workers who are working in the hospitality sector. When we were able to find a true Thai citizen on Koh Tao we asked her: --> Why was almost everyone who works here from Myanmar ? " She replied: 1.) The Myanmar people speak English very well, 2.) The tourists like the kindness of the Myanmar people, 3.) It is extremely difficult for them to recruit Thai people to come and work on Koh Tao, 4.) The local Koh Tao mafia likes the Myanmar workforce because they can pay them less than any other potential worker (both domestic Thais and foreign workers { Lao + Cambodia}. Related Koh Tao trip report from June 2024 can be found here:

YES - Halelujah!!! I agree 200% In my opinion, Thailand has a responsibility to protect them from a humanitarian point of view. If they deport them back to Myanmar they are often forced into the military to fight in this senseless war - which can become a death sentence for them.

@vinapu your universe is rewarding you because of what recently happened in your life and because of your bad prior trip to LOS. I am so happy for you - especially since this happiness emanated from Jupiter - often of not such a happy place in the past. -

Interesting - many of these non Thais that I meet here in Pattaya Jomtien are not taking jobs away from Thai nationals - as the Thais themselves do not want to do the work that is relegated to these non Thai nationals. There simply are not enough willing and able Thais to go around to fill all of the jobs that need to be done. I recently got to know 2 Myanmar nationals who told me their sad story - they work here in Jomtien and they are only paid 150 baht per day. They need to report for work at 6:30pm every day and finish work at 2am. If a customer wants to buy them a drink they are under strict orders to tell the customer that they can only drink whisky/coke or a beer. All other drink options are forbidden. I asked them why - because of the profit margin ratios so that the boss can make the maximum profit off of the guy drink. From the customer offered guy drink they get 50 baht. They told me that many days pass when they do not get any offers of paid drinks from the customers. And if they drink anything from the bar, their daily salary of 150 baht is reduced by 50 baht for each drink. So, after 3 drinks (even water) their net salary for the day is ZERO. So, they choose to stock up from 7-Eleven to have something to drink when they get thirsty in the bar. They told me that they have the fear of God - that a raid would come into the Complex where they work. Ironically, the owner of this said bar is from Cambodia. I asked them if they could choose from these 3 nationalities to work for, which one would they choose from Thai, Laos, Cambodia? Let me just say that the option to work for a Cambodian owner came in last place. Every week of living here I find out more and more about the dynamics of what it is like for our guys to survive and live here in our fun entertainment city = Pattaya.

I am glad that you enjoyed yourself at GLAM and were able to find a good masseur to enjoy. They have that very large room behind the glass - like the former HERO - and it would be nice to see it FULL of sexy guys - like back in the day. -
@jason1975 I found 2 videos of a prior Crete the Party event via DuckDuckGo and the venue looks similar to a Moonlight and/or Jupiter format. When watching the videos - note that the guys enter 1-by-1 onto the elevated mezzanine stage and make a sexy catwalk for the audience to see below and then you see them going down the stairs into the crowd below - but this is where the difference is (from Moonlight / Jupiter) the crowd seems to be standing and waiting with some of the crowd standing at those small highly elevated tables where they can put their drinks. I hope this helps. Perhaps you can ask the organiser if the format for the 30 November event will follow the same routine ? 2nd video link below that does not seem to embed itself into our forum automatically like YouTube videos do. https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1MB421r7pK/

He is a cutey - but he is a money boy - and so I need to act accordingly to keep my heart from falling in love with him. He is also the guy that for 4 months now has been organizing my 4 hands massages. I will escape from Thailand (29 December) before the New Year's Eve countdown, when that awkward moment arrives on who will get the first kiss of the new year. I already made that mistake 1 year prior with my ex - resulting in us breaking up and I will NOT go through that nightmare again. Even though I am a pig like many forum members here - I am a romantic at heart when it comes to the "first kiss of the new year" - so, no need to risk that again. Do any other forum members give any credence to this superstition?

Dear all, Yesterday, over in the Massage Insider and Massage Addicted LINE forums, it was announced the following FIRST time combined event for massage aficionados: Unfortunately, I will be outside of Thailand (in The Philippines) until 03-Mar-2025. This event sounds really appealing to me - perhaps, @Verchiele would agree? Especially since it says that many of the local massage shops will participate with many of their massage guys performing. WOW!!! Maybe you would see your favorite massage guy on 18-Jan-2025 ? Below are 3 screenshots from my LINE feed after the LINE Samsung AI autotranslate feature tried to translate the announcement from Thai to English (apologies if something does not make sense). p.s. please don't forget about this next upcoming exciting event, Crete the Party, in Bangkok on Saturday 30 November 2024 at the Crowne Plaza Bangkok (Lumphini).

I truly hope that the current Thai government keeps this momentum going as it is an EXCELLENT segway towards Thailand hosting the World Pride 2030. I was part of the Rome World Pride 2000 as a volunteer, and it was truly an AMAZING experience, with an estimated number of visitors due to the events at about 1 million people. Plus, this event had very difficult hurdles to overcome - because year 2000 was also the Jubileo - as sponsored by The Vatican - and The Vatican was NOT happy to share any of their limelight with World Pride 2000 and did everything in their power to minimize and/or shut down World Pride 2000 via their strong influence in the conservative Italian government. Thailand being much more open minded than Italy - is an exemplary choice for year 2030 World Pride. https://www.nationthailand.com/news/tourism/40039151 I hope that Pattaya will join in these 2030 festivities - as those 1 million tourists will need to release their tension and desire to relax in what Pattaya / Jomtien has on offer.

Last night, I went with my main squeeze to the @Home bar in the Jomtien Complex for their weekly BINGO night and we were turned away as there was no more seating available. I have never seen it so crowded as it was last night. I am truly happy for the bar owners - as the low season, when most of you forum members are not here, is like a ghost town, and it is truly amazing that these bars even survive.

Dear @joizy great writeup about your stay in Puglia. I lived in Italy (Rome) for 12 years and one of the more fun gay places to visit was Gallipoli in Puglia. Why? Because of its famous gay beach. I often had sex on that beach either in the hidden ravines (rock dislevels near the shore) or in the nearby forest. It was very erotic to do it outside with some of the hot Italians and/or visiting tourists. I stayed in a nearby gay Bed&Breakfast and I remember there being a gay disco at the beach - so you could get some fun during the day and then later at night outside of the disco on the nearby beach sand under the stars. https://nomadicboys.com/gay-puglia-travel-guide/ https://www.italygaytravels.com/discover-puglia/gay-beaches/ https://www.gayfriendlyitaly.com/lgbt/lecce/friendly-beaches/spiagge-gay-punta-della-suina-gallipoli-lecce

He was trying to get me to give him money into his Thai bank account that was under investigation of being viewed as a possible mule account because of large transfers that he received from Japan. He showed me the bank letter. He was freaked out. As an ex banker myself, I was not going to allow myself to be implicated by being a part of this mule operation. https://www.nationthailand.com/news/general/40043107 When I said no, he started coming to my room at all hours of the day and night - so I had to report him to the building security team to block him from having access to this condo complex.
