  1. there is very narrow lane leading to the hotel from Chong Nonsi station, another budget hotel Niagara / with short therm rooms available / around the corner. No problem with joiners at both places
  2. Candle T and Candle Paradise are beside each other , possibly even related as their signs are similar. They are along with Sawatdee Spa on the street level of the carpark at first of few highrises called City Court, walking distance from Lumpini MRT and Pinnacle Lumpini / Malaysia hotels. Just cross Rama using pedestrian bridge and go toward highrises 100 m away. Interesting and very Thai area just steps from cosmopolitan bustle of Sathorn. Did not use Candle's sevices but looks very decent from outside. On the ground level of second highrise is Sanctuary by A , another man to man massage place, so we have choice of 4 decent places in the immediate area
  3. I second Michael comments, this is king of man to man massage places in Thailand. Selection method not as intimidating as in places where boys are too close to comfort of some , here glass wall and usually few other clients in the lobby and no pressure from mamasan puts you at ease. Plenty boys available, most on manly, muscular side. VIP room looks like hotel room with all comforts. Boy will shower with you before and after massage. If you can't decide you can have meal or drink in restaurant with good view at the glassed enclosure and boys inside. Although there's conventional wisdom one should not have a meals right before massage. Not difficult to find , keep going up to soi 11, when it forks , take left fork and keep going-there's neon sign at end of soi on your left . Any motorsai driver at mouth of soi 11 knows the place but its nice walk as soi is pretty busy. If you get lost there's Banana Club on your way. Being big fan of massages can't imagine being in BKK and not visiting place at least once unless you like being massaged by skinny but cut twinks -stay in Silom for that.
  4. There are two another posts with my impressions from the last trip, one about hotels and Bkk Transport, another one about my go-go bars and boys any my Pattaya city impressions. readers may wish to check them in their hour of boredom For some reason this massage post is much more popular than other two and I don't know reason is subject or other two are poorly written or simply overlooked. Everything was written with newbies planning first foray to LOS in mind so some may find it helpful. http://www.gaythailand.com/forums/topic/9343-impresions-from-november-2013-trip-flight-hotels-bkk-transport-money-regular-tips/ http://www.gaythailand.com/forums/topic/9344-impressions-from-november-2013-trip-go-go-bars-and-boys-views-on-pattaya/
  5. my problem last time was not they did not want to stay long time but they did not want me to interrupt their precious sleep so Nirish is right , it's us farangs who are bringing this misery on ourselves by stocking unrealistic demands. On more positive note boy from A-Bomb I was planning to house overnight told me up front , before actual off he is for short time only, another one from Bonny Massage / BKK / changed his plans but again informed me up front before we left and suggested realistic reduction of his tip for short time and kept his side of bargain leaving at 3 a.m . on the dot as agreed so not all is that bad.
  6. you dirty mind you ! It will work , in fact any bottle would, stopped at Bangkok massage on my way from Family Mart with bottle of whisky, it was nice to try if it's strong enough with my boy at end of massage.

    Life as a Bear

Good luck with you battling the flu, it's very unhealthy thing to be sick !
  8. Most of premium brands are just avenues to extract more money in exchange for a nice bottle to the stuff inside. Yes , I agree , vodka should be taken neat and cold. I keep mine in the freezer all the time.
  9. more boys and more drinks.... have a fun !
  10. at night it would be disaster but during day you can buy visa , hop on subway and in less than 1 hr. you are at Hippodrome where Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia is or at Kapali Carsi / covered bazar
  11. Love makes us stupid moneywise and you gave good example , 2 drinks at 1000 =2000 , he could have this coyote in his bed likely for that much. On another hand if he run out of money he is not completely hazed in his mind. This is patent I exercise too - go with fixed amount of money and no card on me to guarantee that even if get too crazy will not spend what's allocated for that night. At least you guys showed good heart helping him to overcome shyness a bit
  12. Fate had it that it were my boys both nights who complained about their inability to sleep , not due to noise but because me trying to be too active in the bed to their taste. No more Cambodian boys long time in any Boyztown hotel - this is my New Year resolution. On more serious note this is always trade in- being close to the action and inconvenienced by the said action at the same time. It's why I'm such fan of BBB Inn- quiet place around the corner from Soi Twilight mayhem.
  13. OMG, what kind of vodka it that ? 44 $ per bottle, better check as it must be gold coin inside bottle. Thank for warning about c/c surcharge, obviously 10 %, my friend is flying to Sri Lanka through PEK on Sunday, called him already to have a cash handy on transit there.
  14. No wonder bars there are being closed and boys left to their fate, I'm not better and did not drop by even one when there 2 weeks ago
  15. Nice alternative to crowds at Chatuchak market, 20 km from Swampy look quite affordable by taxi for those without vehicle but like ChristianPFC will find public transport way of getting there
  16. Thank you, actually I put some thought into 3 best section and I'm glad somebody likes it. You will be happy in Sukhumvit area, quite a few nice massage places there if you are interested and not that far from Silom. Night market along Sukhumvit will keep you entertained and if you shopper quite a few very classy shopping centers along BTS line, some direct link to BTS stations so no need even to go to street level. Although I personally like Silom area better, closer to Soi Twilight and to the river and much less farangs parading with Thai 'wives' .
  17. Thank you for nice wrap around various kinds of massages. Looks we are both big fans of massages. Claim about Banana boys being all gay I picked up from some post somewhere or may be nickygaybkk, no idea that is true or not , why I used word apparently . Issue of gay or gay for pay may be important for some but for me personally not at all .In fact I may venture I had more joy with straights with wife and kids on the last trip than with gay boys. It's like straights are trying to perform better and are more forwarding with straight answers : I like this , I don' like that, I do this if you want but prefer not to , this kind of things. As it was said millions times before all boils down to chemistry between two of us, sometimes is apparent from the start, sometimes if surfaces half way through encounter. Eh, those were days !
  18. Don't worry about us, it your vacation after all .But what I noticed posting creates log of vacation activities , handy to bring happy memories later on
  19. I did not have any problem with noise in Boyztown during my stay, neither inside nor outside
  20. You mean Serene, not 'sureen" ? Café Royal may not be shiny new but I liked it and would consider staying there again.
  21. Akbil is gone, now it's called Istanbulcard and looks like credit card but places you can reload it are still called Akbil Dolum. We can only hope one day we will be able to use the same card for all BKK modes of public transport.
  22. stored value cards are really good idea for reasons you described but in BKK of limited use since all modes of transport have own fare structure and Rabbit Card is good for BTS but useless for MRT , BRT busses etc. It's why I did not bother in last few years. I have one from Istanbul where you can use her for everything including intercontinental ferries from Europe to Asia and back.
  23. thank you for update, I did not use regular City link to/from airport this time so was quoting from memory. Rabbitcard is more of value for commuters than tourists but it depends where is one's hotel, even daily card at 130 I found not that great value for touristy needs, for example Sala Daeng to Asoke is 31 baht one way so one needs to travel extensively throughout the day to squeeze value out of daily card. But is handy to beat rush time crowds if front of ticket vending machines , slide card od off you go. BTS is victim it's own success and at evening rush extremely crowded at times - was left at platform to wait for next train on quite of few occasions. To get at rush time from Silom to Sukhumvit or other way nothing beats motorsai as long as one has will in order and funeral expenses / body transportation covered by the insurance. But thrill is better than Las Vegas rollercoasters
  24. avoid connecting through Shanghai, in May I was supposed to pick up my language like at final destination and go thorough boarding process again including immigration. Granted it was well organized and I was escorted through process as I did not have a visa but still nerve wracking experience for 1 hr 40 minutes connection. Only good thing was that I was warned about procedure when boarding originally and even agent asked me question ' where you will be picking up your language" to make sure I understand process. This was Air Canada / Thai connection , both Star alliance so supposed to ne seamless but not at that airport, be warned. Never had issues at Narita / Tokyo but always surprised how crappy duty free shops there are, poor relative to Swampy or Incheon / Seoul/ .
