Foreign nationals with the non-immigrant O-A visa, sometimes known as a retirement visa, will in the future have to prove they have insurance coverage of at least US$100,000 (three million baht) against Covid-19. I may sound very uncaring but I can find very little sad about this story. If there is more info i may withdraw my lack of sympathy. However: If anyone come to live long time in Thailand , need to have sufficient resources.,insurance and sense.If a person comes with that but runs out of money then simply return to yoyr home country.

Interesting post. My understanding is that the Oxford vaccine is on its way to Thailand.. or here already.and I thought I read that the private sector can purchase a quantity. Also some Euro countries try to claim the Oxford Vaccine not effective for those over 65; the issue has been denied by both the UK and the WHO.( But is a clue to what Bumrungrad may soon be offering as survey aimed at under 65's). So my guess is Bumrungrad will soon be privately offering the Oxford vaccine....just my speculation!

With respect, both for security and under age reasons checking ID and registering at reception is an important safeguard and I am surprised anyone would consider otherwise. I do not "go" with anyone unless I am satisfied they have proper ID and are adult.
