Ha when in Barcelona with my BF two weeks ago and us ( well me to be more accurate) sitting flicking through Grindr for a nosey I was messaged by several young virile hot as hell guys, who to me were quite obviously "working" but my BF wasn't perhaps aware of that fact and I had several enjoyable minutes watching the jealousy quietly rage within him as I told him "Guys like that ALWAYS message me when I'm home too sure, it's no big deal". Sorry, I've just realised that you did already say that in your first post, I hadn't linked the new name with the old one, sorry. I assume also ( and again sorry as I'm sure you already know this but it's worth saying just in case perhaps) that when checking reservations to be sure to try both the usual various hotel booking sites AND the hotels directly if you can should you ever get a"fully booked" answer from any source as I've lost count of the times I got a fully booked notice and then did get the room that the booking site etc said wasn't available by trying a different booking source, this being as the hotels only release so many rooms to each booking site etc on a strict contractual restricted basis , so in my experience it is always worth the try to check on a few fronts perhaps? ( And again sorry for pointing out the bleeding obvious to you perhaps as I'm sure you do already know all of that but maybe the tip will help other readers at some point if not yourself)

I went when I was 38'and had a blast so don't let the number of your age ( whatever that may be) restrict you, it is of course a younger persons thing in general but the hats not to say you can't have a damned good time if you're yo for it. I stayed in one of the beach bungalows in the Tommy resort which is right slap bang in the middle of the action and myself ( travelling alone by choice) and several of the other bungalow renters all shared our raised balcony and had s great shared time and party as there ended up about 20 of us all up going for it all night ( partying that is :-)) Actually being that bit older and wiser was useful as I was able to keep a wiser head of my shoulders than I would have at 25 and was able to sit and watch the drug deals bury their pills under our balcony so if they were arrested it wouldn't be with large amounts on them ( or party ended up negotiating excellent rates of purchase for turning a blind eye I seem to recall !). I also was able to be aware of the dealers and the police working hand in hand to both sell dope or pills to younger people, then the police arrest them 3 minutes later after being given the nod by the dealers that the deal had been done, for the police to them start their negotiations with shit scared youngsters who thought their lives were over after getting caught, for the drugs to be handed back to the dealer 30 seconds later again so the process could start all over again in the next unsuspecting young victim. Or my siting oitside a bar having a beer and a joint ( bought there) and the waiter saying "yes it ok you can smoke here, no poblem" for me to do so and other customers sitting two feet away from me in the bar next door to me to then do the same after hearing this only for the police to rush in and arrest THEM but not me as it transpired my bar ( in hindsight) has obviously been paying enough tea money where theirs obviously wasn't - again they were back an hour later having been relieved of a ridiculously large sum of money which I can't recall now - maybe 20,000 baht ?? Likewise back on our balcony one of the girls whid joined us (who was being s real drama queen and everyone depised) fell back off the balcony ( about 5 feet into the sand just) - she wasn't injured but made a real scene and the next thing we knew there was a ambulance ANDY a FULL TV CREW! complete with bright lights - which considering the fucked state everyone was in that was the last thung anyone wanted on camera so there's was a mass hiding round corners until they left with her - and little did we know that whole incident has been broadcast many times now as part of that Big trouble in Thailand series and every time I see it it brings back a smile to my face :-) So yes go, age is just s number and I had a blast, once was enough probably but I'd definitely recommend it is you enjoy partying and living a little crazy - oh but I didn't one "gay" thing or person the whole week I was there and trust me I looked ! One random gay massage guy working in a normal straight massage place I think was it now that I remember but certainly no "scene" as such, not that that mattered mind as I'd still a great time :-)

I think the Out in Thailand owner is missing a trick here - I think everyone ( himself included) agrees that his maps aren't great sometimes and could do with someone physically checking out bars geographical locations and providing sat nav locations as well etc plus as a brief overview of the type of place and whether it was actually opened on the date visited etc. Well there's one poster who ALREADY travels around a lot of the gay venues in several cities, already provides sat nav geo locations for just about everywhere he goes on his own posts, he also likes to save as much Baht as he can when travelling anywhere and also always insists on staying in cheaply priced accommodation etc, so surely with a few emails back and forth James could simply task / ask Christian to come up with a database document showing at the very least the correct locations of all the usual popular venues plus some of the lesser known ones too as I'm guessing Christian has now built up a better database in his head than perhaps ANY of the gay mag owners might ever have. He would also ( and of course I'm guessing here) be quite able and happy to do all of that whilst on his own existing travels ( which he's doing anyway of course) for the pleasure of getting his own ( already cheap 500 baht a night ) room cost covered along with perhaps a few beers thrown in and maybe a one of sensible fee payment for the service rendered. This way Christian gets a few free trips, the magazine gets a ( knowing Christian) VERY detailed up to date location of 80 or 90% of gay bars in all the popular cities and the rest of us get the info we need to find them thanks to Christians sat nav info and directions etc - I'd just hope that his brief would be limited to locations and opening hours etc and not actually his preferred "briefs" info lol. James - you can thank me later for this masterful idea as to how to solve your apparent problem very cheaply and in a Christian like detailed manner and Christian you're welcome too for your two or three free trips :-) There, problem solved ! :-)

Well obviously Bali has been discussed on many boards many times and there's a wealth of action in the Siminyak area etc as well as the out lying areas. Jakarta etc I think a lot more hidden and online is where it's at there but aa most of the guys in Siminyak are from Jakarta and Sumatra etc anyway it goes to follow that they're up for it just as much at home aa when away assuming it's discreet.

lol I believe the above is called "venting" - and why not, you're among friends here - so yes, fuck your boss ( not literally I'm assuming) and whilst he's doing his level best ( and failing it seems) at making your last few weeks a misery you can just sit back, count the few extra baht going into your bank account and plan on how you're going to spend it when you're on holiday and he's still stuck there slaving away and you have your sweet revenge :-) For what it's worth I'm in the same boat but in reverse as I head off myself next week and two of my shittiest staff members and even a few of our lovely customers are breaking my balls on an almost hourly basis this week already so like you I too am counting the days and doing my best to keep my mouth shut and smile - see, those Thai's seem to have taught me something after all ! :-)

And thankfully up to now that seems to be work just fine so lets not look to hard for or seek to "out" some existing board "personality" who may or may not be moderating ( or even bothering to read) the board which might end up changing that then eh as I'm all for "if it's not broke don't fix it" train of thought re that.

GOD closes at 3am now which is useless if thats on your list of go to places :-( oh and what about DJ, is it back to 3am closing again or are they still enforcing the 2am forced closure there too, I can't remember ?
