I had a favorite at Happy Boys and some fun until the last time when a chatty farang a few curtains over ruined it for me. The lad suggested we go elsewhere next time and the whole experience vastly improved. Happy does have a shower but best for happy ending type massage due to lack of privacy and narrow space. My favorite has a whopper and a butt to die for, even though he was about 35 y.o.

Some farangs feel it's rude to peek and not go in. Somehow, the boys will be offended.Others, myself included, don't want to waste their time, if the boys inside are not their type, too few in numbers, they see an obnoxious mamasan and a host of other reasons. Boys need a thick skin in the bar boy game, as they get rejected all the time except for the superstars. One can be too nice, too polite, too p.c. and that all comes across as weakness and foolishness to the boys, imo.

There are farang con men who survive in Thailand by 'borrowing' money from other farangs. Some are just petty con men and stuff your 'bin' with their bar tabs when you spend a penny or are distracted. Some invite you to expensive restaurants where they offer to pay with a credit card, when they know credit cards aren't accepted. Then they have no cash and the sucker farang pays the whole bill. As it's difficult to ask to be repaid by many, the con man gets away with it. When the con man finds a really naive sucker, he goes for the bigger money. The con man spins a tale of a) he's waiting for the closing check from his condo, house, business and needs a loan for a short time. b) he needs an operation and has no insurance. He's waiting for family members but that takes time. He's desparate for short time loan. c) he's in trouble and will go to jail for years unless he can pay off police. d) his pension check is delayed and he will be evicted. e) his boyfriend will be killed by loan sharks unless he comes up with the baht and he's temporarily short of funds. The list goes on and on and miraculously, your money will save him and he's swears he's honest, wealthy, whatever it takes to loosen your purse strings. Gullible lonely farangs want to help their new friend but after the money is 'loaned', the con man moves on to the next sucker, unless he's hooked a really gullible farang, who's good for further fleecing. Shakespeare nailed it with "neither a borrower nor a lender be".

There's a word for 'ugly' in Thai, but much more polite to say 'not pretty'. Also 'stupid' less polite than 'not smart'. Unbeknownst to some farangs, Thai boys plague other Thai boys for money all the time. Boys with farang patrons, gold, latest iPhone are perceived as rich. They have to tell the other boys that they don't have money and cannot. Otherwise, they would be stripped clean as soon as word got out that they were an easy touch. The Thai girls and ladyboys badger the Thai boyfriends for money, and close the honey jar until the baht flows. Of course, a generalization that is most appropriate for Pattaya based Thais and not meant to encompass the whole nation. Farangs tend to think only farangs are 'walking ATMs', but it's based solely on who has the money.

Mai dai, which means 'cannot' is much better than "no". It saves 'face'. In farang to farang conversations, 'maybe' means no, but is more polite. With a little knowledge of Thai, one can also say, mai mee tang or no have money. Nobody believes it but it can save face rather than a flat No. Don't worry about correct tones, boys will understand .

I've seen groups of farangs sit together tightly in Eros on a sofa. They leave no room for a boy to approach and sit on their hands. They look so uptight and use each other for protection. I've noticed this several times and the Boys at Eros get the message and leave them to themselves. To each their own but sometimes one just has to let go, loosen up and have some fun. The tips are small change but some can't let go of even a 20b. note. Sad.

Vinapu nailed it. Not a cheap Charlie reference or a 'you're ruining it for everybody' reference either. Americans are conditioned to tip wait staff and other nationalities are used to service charges included. Many of us compromise with a small gratuity, like 20b. But others think it foolish and some think it's cheap. I know that bars keep a tip, jar which is shared at the end of the night and even 10b. or 20b. tips add up and and are appreciated if the boys weren't offed or personally tipped that night. I have seen farangs fondle boys aggressively and not tip but the boys get wise after a while and avoid them. Of course, these farangs complain but fail to realize that parting with a tiny tip will make the difference. We refer to the chronically tight farangs as 'sitting on their hands'. They are terrified to touch but looking is free.

With only the Thai guy's legal name (name must match his I.D.), one can use Moneygram. It cost as little as $5.00 US if you plan ahead and can wait 3 days, or 5 minutes later, the money is in a pickup location for $15.00 fee. It's another option for those of us without a Thailand online bank account

While I agree vinapu is one of the best trip reporters, ryoyo is a new contender as I like his more graphic style. I want to know what the boy can do but respect discretion and don't usually post my personal sexual experiences. Firecat easily among the 'top' best three. For those who adore skinny twinks, firecat is 'tops'.

Thanks, I didn't know they were so difficult. I have thought about the farangs with c-pap machines, who like to off boys long time. The boys must find the mask, tubing and tank odd. But probably better than roaring snoring thunder. It does remind me of a story a boy once told me involving a colostomy bag and a sewn shut butthole. Sleep apnea very common among overweight farangs in Thailand. Good idea to be tested if you have sleep issues. C-pap machines are the answer for many rather than pills. Losing weight probably the best way, but of course not so easy.

Most of us are decades beyond our bicycle riding days but Zimmer frames and C-pap machines costs, perchance more relevant here. Cpap machines common in Pattaya as sleep apnea is common. As I am fearful to ride a motorbike in Pattaya , I've been told if you can ride a bike, you can ride a motorbike. I'm also afraid to ride a bicycle in the sois of Pattaya, let alone the roads. Michael is fortunate to still be in his salad days and able to ride a bicycle in traffic, pedestrians, baht buses etc.

Like vinapu, if I see 2 or 3 guys that I like, I'm happy. I can go to a bar like Dream Boys and see 30+ twinks and can't wait to leave. I'll add that several farangs friends of mine are so enamored with Dream Boys, they don't ever want to leave. Firecat is right in that Funny Boys has seen better days but for me quality always trumps quantity. Of course, like beauty, quality is in the eyes of the beholder.

Years ago, Wild West Boys was a great boy Gogo bar. I could go almost every night and see a dozen boys thatrocked my world. Those days are long gone, new owners, new management and new boys. One miracle boy bar is Boyzboyzboyz . It came back like the Phoenix from being an senior citizen man bar with drag queens running the show, to a great boy bar. Even firecat found it worthwhile and his taste for twinks is well known here. vinapu also enjoyed himself and his taste for masculine men is also well known here. Something for everyone. XBoys shows great some nights and not great on others. Possibility of police problems a factor. On a good night, it's my favorite boy bar in Pattaya and most nights are good. Tobacco smoking can be a problem but much less than before.

I agree with vinapu on Funny Boys. Still full of amazingly hot guys but far fewer customers than when Rose was in charge.Without Rose, many of the boys are indifferent to the old farangs but come alive if you show interest. This is a reality shock for those of us who were spoiled by the "crack the whip" style of Rose. I enjoy the interplay between the boys and the natural behavior they exhibit. One gets a better sense of their personalities. Of course, they are sex workers and the old obese farangs are paying customers, but reality is refreshing and there are many other Gogo boy bars a few steps away. I'm in the old obese camp myself btw.

Sounds like you missed Good Boys, just opposite Krazy Dragon. No uber skinny pretty/fem boys there and many sporting full sized equipment. Mixed opinions on this bar but you can check them out behind the screen. You may find more than you can handle when word of big tips goes around. Some farangs love this bar and others wouldn't consider it. I think you'd find it worth a look and a drink.

Gerefan is correct. The Gogo boys are offable but some of the show boys are not offable. Same as with the BBoys. They aren't interested . No doubt, enough baht might make a difference and perhaps Thai speakers might work out something over a drink. The smaller guy in the shower show has many admirers btw.

1moRussian is still a young man. Most of us are 20 + years older. I based my opinion on observations at Serene Bar and several conversations with the Thai staff working there. The median age of the gay Russians is a decade or two younger than other farangs from the West and Australia/NZ.

Shocking drop in value of Russian currency will shake up the hordes of Russian visitors this high season. Many will be forced to change plans. Freezing temperatures and ugly repression will still be a strong lure for gay men, but very difficult when your currency loses so much value. Pattaya real estate market will feel it but the Thai boys will hardly notice, except favorite Russian boy beer bars, like Serene Bar in Boyztown, will feel the impact. New mega condo developments may go belly up. Time will tell, of course. This post reminds me of the Chicken Little story.

In general, the Russians have very little interest in Thai guys. They are interested in other Russian guys and almost never tip, off or even flit with the Thai boys. It is so repressive in Russia, they come to Pattaya to be free from their nightmarish gay hating society and the warm weather and beaches also entice. The Thai guys would starve if they depended on the Russians.

When you find the best, why move on to try someone new. Firecat is in a good place, in the groove and enjoying the fruits of his pursuits. One can still play around even with two extra special favorites, but as we get older we only have so much energy, so much stamina and I've found its best to focus, when I've found exactly what I was looking for. There's always tomorrow and few really great things last forever. vinapu will pick up the slack as will many other horny men.
