@vinapu will disagree,lol The question was about using a good black label whiskey and drowning it in mixer vs a less expensive one where you won't notice the difference..... I drink Bacardi, mixed...I don't like sipping rums, but most enthusiasts do. I don't know much about gin, but from a gin site about drinking gin like Vinapu, straight, the gin that is.: Not only can you drink gin neat but it's actually the best way to try a bottle of gin, at least for the first time. Some gin enthusiasts prefer this way of drinking gin completely compared to mixing it with tonic or in a cocktail as doing so allows you to experience its full spectrum of flavours.

The better whiskey's are meant to be straight or on the rocks, sipped....if you're going to mix them, no sense in paying a premium and losing the taste of the higher end ...this goes for any liquor.

I mean it as this....I got my 1st bottle of fake alcohol in Rio a few weeks ago, is more prevalent in Thailand...mafia/drug lords make a lot of money distributing fake alcohol at a reduced price ... since I only drink Bacardi, it's very obvious to me when it happens.
