Nothing "new" but my experiences in Salvador and San Miguel were something like this.....there were really only 2 gay bars and only openly gay guys went, read: bottoms. I asked my friends why and they said that the country is so small, if you're seen in the bars, everyone will know you've been there. They say every Salvadoran is a little gay, after a 6 pack. Yes, for sex....the same guys might be charging over 100 on the apps/sites or bars. last Sept I had a 11hr 58min connection in HND on ANA and they tried to tell me I'd have to collect my luggage there and recheck because it was a long layover. I didn't want to do that and reminded them of the 12 hr rule and after she checked with a supervisor, they checked the bag thru to ORD so I could do Tokyo without luggage. I do a lot of long layovers, mostly on purpose and have friends that work for United at ticket counters, flight attendants and ramp workers....all agree, with United at least, about the 12 hour rule or Overnight connections in the US. If I arrived in Houston for example at midnight and I have a 5am or later flight, I'd have to get my luggage and recheck it in the morning, they don't hold bags overnight. Maybe Thai is different and I hope the OP reports back how it turned out.

Typically airlines don't hold luggage for more than 12 hours (reclaim rule), especially if it falls overnight...you'd need to collect it and then recheck before the next flight....

I'm in Medellin at the moment... 1. I've always stayed in the Poblado general area only went to Laureles once for a short time motel....seemed ok, but I'll stick to Poblado. The airbnb I'm in comes out to less than 60usd a day after all fees. 2. There is Didi and Indriver but everyone has told me to stick with Uber as it is the safest here....I'll take their word for it even though I use the other platforms in Mexico without incident, don't want to learn the hard way that they might be right. 3. I did St. Moritz in Bog....the selection was limited and with the choices in Mileroticos, Skoka, Grindr.....I haven't felt the urge to go searching in saunas or elsewhere...No GP sauna like in Brasil.

Where else are you going besides Brasil.....if you only had a week, I'd still do both. August is winter in Rio, not as busy as other months, a lot of the "talent" goes to Sao Paulo or stay in SP and don't go to Rio....but like buttercawan said, you can still do touristy things, and there are guys in Rio, just not the selection as in warmer months. so at least 3 days in SP and make sure the days line up to be the good ones in the saunas in both cities.... Rio= Mon 202, Tues 117, Wed 202....SP= Lagoa Thurs, Fri, Sat Sauna days are dependent on the weather, when it rains, is usually shitty...if they do something like Bingo or free food could be busy. If there's a party or event in town could be slow, the guys priorities is party over work.

This is my 2nd trip in as many months....I've not felt a need to go anywhere...Grindr and Mileroticos has kept me more than busy....the guys I've met for 70k-140k don't seem to be in a rush.
