Gay Thailand and Gay Bangkok Report on September 2019
floridarob replied to TotallyOz's topic in Gay Thailand
Crown Plaza or Marriott needs to open a short time room business model......instead of collecting nights, would it be hours? -
You do give off that vibe ....

And cost of living is higher for the guys there. Sex, whether you are top or bottom is INCREDIBLE 98% of the times. Is more dangerous than Thailand, not as bad as some people report (especially from people that have never been there). Restaurants are more expensive than Thailand and there is the entrance fee to the sauna, about 65 R (16usd) but there are no mandatory drinks to buy, no off fee. You will see some of the biggest cocks you've ever seen in your life and the guys are NOT shy. If you ask to take pics of them most will say yes and start posing, when you say ok, that's enough, they'll want you to take more, they love pictures. Sao Paulo as some great restaurants but nothing much of sightseeing except for some museums, Rio has blah food in my opinion (unless you want to spend a lot) and good touristy things to do. Rio has 3 good rent boy saunas, Sao Paulo has 2 If anyone is going to travel that far, I always recommend going to both places, is a cheap flight when you buy ahead of time and both cities have downtown airports that make taking the flights seem like you are hopping on a bus. Bottom line is stick to the saunas or guys that you met at the sauna. Grindr or street cruising is tempting but you have no way of really knowing who was with you, sauna guys depend on sauna work, is their job and they know not to fuck that up.

150 is normal for an outcall...if you go to any of the saunas with working guys, the price is 100.

Latin blood means gay life is everywhere, lol I live in Merida, which is 3 hrs drive west of Cancun...it has more gay nightlife (and daylife) than PLaya del Carmen and Cancun combined. Mexico city in incredible, I don't think I'd want to live there but is fun for a long weekend. Puerto Vallarta isn't my cup of tea...too many people from the west coast. Acapulco was THE PLACE in Mexico for many years, now it doesn't even enter my mind...WAY TOO DANGEROUS. Guadalajara is supposed to be great but I had a few bad experiences there (plus I like short brown guys, they are mostly tall with European roots). Monterey has a good scene, is very much like being in the USA since it's so far north, but is still Mexico. Is an industrial city with hard working people. Cost of living is on par with Thailand I would say, alcohol is much cheaper. There are escorts, stripper bars, tons of free sex....they relate more with western culture...so there are none of the cultural differences that we are always reminded not to offend in Thailand. Different strokes for everyone...I like Thailand...to visit, I LOVE Thai food, massages everywhere, etc.....but is a big world. Ah, I find the expats here less "catty" also, lol

I had thought of moving to Thailand but after considering some of the pitfalls being discussed, I'm in Mexico. It has MANY things in common with Thailand, immigration was a one time thing, however, I'm free to work, own a business no requirement to keep money in their banks, no sort of reporting system. And I can be in Houston in less than a 2 hour flight if something happens that I want to be back in the USA. I like Thailand, but like living in Mexico a whole lot more I believe.

My Observation has been that ANYONE at this point ( I understand falling for the Con to vote for him) that still supports Trump is: 1) Super wealthy that his tax programs benefit them 2) Just plane racists and or stupid Check your bank accounts and let me know which one you are......

I stayed there one time many years ago....they had bedbugs in my room. I spoke to the front desk and the old guy from Dreamboys. They did nothing, even ignored talking to me....I took pictures as proof ( I was a Hotel GM in my previous life and offered help on how to get rid of them). I checked out and went to another hotel, they refused to refund my money, I had to dispute with my credit card company. Bottom line, I'm surprised they lasted this long.

where do you stay near Tuk Com?
-
would you stay again? Since is a girl bar mainly downstairs....any issues (I wouldn't expect so, IT IS Pattaya ,lol) How is Boyztown these days?
-
Planning my Jan trip and looking for some input. I've stayed at Ambiance, The Venue, View Talay 2 and the Agate in the past. Didn't even go to Boyztown on my last few trips, Nice Boys seems to be my favorite current bar.....but there seems to be a lot of Crap in Pattaya. Most reviews mention that many places are run down and lack maint. I like the Venue, but I also like having a microwave to heat up food but the View Talay condo I stayed at had a/c problems among other things. Venue is 1000 baht plus 7% tax///Ambiance is 41 USD a night with breakfast, but it ends at 11am and I'm a late sleeper, so will probably miss that. Where would you recommend ???

There WAS a place in Pattaya, but it closed in Dec last year. I had intentions of going, but never did https://www.travelgay.com/venue/sodom-fetish-club/ You would think BKK would have something, or maybe they do but is underground. you could try this site and see if you can meet someone with similar interest...long delays for most to reply, so I never connected with anyone from here. https://www.recon.com/en/landingpage

what dates and from where? I'll do a little searching for you....I do a lot of "creative" routing...sometimes is longer, but cheaper.
-
You will love it...hope you go to Sao Paulo too, would be a shame to travel that far and not go to both places. Where will you be staying and when?
-
The Ibis Seminyak....I'm looking where to stay again for Feb and is hard to beat $16 usd per day
-
I've stayed in that hotel before, VERY small rooms, they seem to do some group business....didn't have any problems with anyone going to the room with or without me. Repeat guys would just be knocking on my door before I knew it, I expected reception to call or something, but no. Walking distance to the 3 gay bars and many restaurants.....grindr had many for free (looking for husbands/sugar daddy and massage escort guys....I enjoyed Bali and Jakarta more than Vietnam or Cambodia. If you drink alcohol, is expensive if it's imported....reasonable if made nationally. A 750ml of Bacardi was $75usd at a supermarket!!

The Franchised hotels have a rule that your rates must be no lower than what you are posting on their site. Opaque sites like Priceline ot Hotwire don't count since you don't know what hotel you are getting until the bid is accepted.
-
Those are signs of poor management, ESPECIALLY at these small properties. My "claim to fame" as a hotel GM was raising guest satisfaction scores and REVPAR (revenue per available room)...whereas many managers concentrate on ADR (average daily rate). Also because of my management style, reduced employee turnover...happy employees = happy guests (normally) Many employees are lazy and find it easier to say, book on Agoda, Expedia, etc... than to do the actual work or look for a manager to approve the lower rate. On average is a 20 % commision and waiting 45-60 days to get paid, front line employees don't care, however, a manager should.....I sake my head when a manager declines to honor the lower rate and says book online, smh

According to everyone I know , it's neither. I know someone that was deported recently, he said he hardly leaves the house for fear that he might get kidnapped.

I've been to Salvador a few times..there a only a couple of small gay bars that only the openly out and obviously gays go to, is a small country and everyone knows your business if you are seen there. So, like a friend told me....go into any bar/cantina...after a 6-pack everyone is gay in Salvador, lol. The last time I went, my friend (who was deported from USA, then later kidnapped and murdered in Salvador, yes it's a dangerous place) had lined me up with some of his friends that he knew would fuck anything, so was even easier having them all lined up......and two of the guys I was with were also later murdered, what a shame how terrible Central America has become. This is why they try to come to the USA as refugees, but many Americans think they are looking for a free ride, smh
