  1. Im right with you Biguyby as regards Songkran. I experienced it during my second trip to Pattaya I think in 2004. I had no idea what I was letting myself in for when I arranged my travel dates. Being soaking wet all day long is not my idea of fun neither is crazy drunken behaviour. I retreated to Dongtan Beach during daylight hours to be consoled by good looking boys who were there in profusion in those days.
  2. I very much agree with you Vinapu - some rooms and hotels are better than others as regards noise. I recall staying at LeCafe Royal about 5 years ago and I cant remember being troubled. Also late night noise does not effect so much, night owls who do not return to their rooms till almost dawn. I tend to go out fairly early maybe 9 ish and return to my room maybe 12 ish especially if I have an off with me. I find it hard to enjoy my bed companion if Im listening to a rendition of "I did it my way" from some drunken farang in a nearby bar. Also Im a light sleeper - I live in a very quiet location at home. Thais only know one setting for the volume knob - maximum.
  3. I often stay at the Samsuck Guesthouse, which is half way from Boystown and Jomtien. Its not too far to walk back from either - perhaps 20 minutes. Alternatively you can stop a baht bus or take a motor bike taxi. For me staying in BT or Sunee, the downside is the noise from the bars which lasts long after the official closing time. No good if you are a light sleeper.
  4. Ive bought Dvd,s on Dontang Beach. Sometimes there are many sellers but sometimes they are absent - I suppose it depends on the activities of the police. For me its often a case of thumbing through their pile if Im bored with no boys in sight. Its a bit hit and miss as the quality is variable. I usually buy one or two to play in my room in bed with my "boyfriend du jour". In March I was offered pen drives on which I was told there were many movies, but without the facility to play them in my hotel I didnt buy.
  5. Yes I could have expressed myself clearer. Im in my mid sixties NOT my boyfriends du jour.
  6. I think there is a difference between expat residents and gays like me who spend their holidays in Thailand. Expats tend to want a "normal" life which often will include a, relationship, in addition to hobbies and long term friendships. Very often they have to budget carefully which precludes a lot of partying and short term sexual liaisons. I normally take three trips a year to Pattaya and am a confirmed sex tourist. My objective is to have fun and sex with boys, most of whom are much younger than my sixties. With money in my pocket I have no difficulty in finding cuties for my bed. Love does not come into the business relationship but I think I treat the boys with respect.
  7. Somehow Bangkok usually doesn't work for me. I spend most of my three to four week LOS trips in Pattaya but usually manage a couple of nights in BKK, staying at the Tarntawan. Im afraid the cock shows do little for my jaded sexual appetite and I hate the exorbitant charges. In March at the start of my trip I visited Dreamboys and another bar to find a suitable cutie for my bed but returned to the hotel unsuccessful, although I was tired from the flight so my search was not extensive. Next day before heading for the Pattaya bus at Ekimai I had a massage at Arena, which was exactly what my body needed after 14 hours in economy but the sexual part was uninspiring, performed by an disinterested 35 year old boy. Yet within an hour of arrival at my hotel in Pats (Samsuck Guesthouse) i had what I like - being topped by a twinky boy from GR.
  8. I visited Magnolia twice during my March trip, having been there in August/September 2014. It must be about 2 miles from BT but I did it on the second occasion, having used my hired motor bike the first time. Its quite hard to find and is close to Sukumvit Road in a maze of small Sois in a rather modern house with smart clean interior. I was rather ready for the cold drink on arrival. I was very satisfied both times and would agree the boys are keen to conclude the massage part of the proceedings, by, on the last occasion probing between my butt cheeks with his cock. If it wasn't for the location I would not go anywhere else for the massage experience.
  9. I went through the boyfriend experience about eight years ago. It was at the end of my first trip to Pattaya and I had offed a hot 18 year old from the Kaos gogo for three nights. Before I left for home I bought him a phone (this was when phones were not in general use) so as to keep in touch. At home I was obsessed with the need to get back to Pats and see him again. We talked on the phone every couple of days and he agreed to be my boyfriend, on receipt of me sending money via Western Union. I managed to arrange a six week period where I had no work after some two months at home. Stupid I know but thats what Pattaya does to blokes like me. On arrival in Pats I rented an appartment and he moved in with me bringing his stuff from a shared room near Tukcom. For about two weeks I was living the dream - plenty of sex and sitting on Dongtan beach with him wearing tiny speedos and getting admiring glances from other older gays sticks in my memory. Things did not last - he became moody and more demanding for presents and money and less willing to submit to my sexual demands and wanting to spend time with his friends. I decided to dump him and one night he refused to rim me so I told him to leave. There was a shouting match but he went and I hired a taxi to take his things to his room. After a few days I resumed gay sex mongering, but avoiding the areas where he circulated. II kept my phone off and did not reply to his texts. I never saw him again. It was costly in money and emotion but I never went BFE again during the twenty or so visits to Thailand and Pattaya. I concur thats its impossible to have a relationship when separated by the age gap and a different culture.
  10. I cant add anything to the information about tips - its very sound As regards hotels for your first visit to Pattaya I would advise staying in a place known for gay guests (mainly in Sunee, Boystown or Jomtien Complex or Dongtan Beach, if you intend to bring back boys to your room. Yes there are often money boys circulating at Samsuk despite the warning notices. But sometimes they are just looking for a farang boyfriend not necessarily to have paid sex on the premises.
  11. Ive not seen boys playing ball at Dongtan for a while. A couple of years ago they were there every day. They used to finish as the late started to fade and that was a good time to approach one to suggest a drink and maybe a visit to my hotel. Quite a few rejections but several success's also. I liked to see them in speedos especially, which was a signal they were available.
  12. The Marina Inn is good value, particularly if you like using the pool. I stayed there a few years ago so maybe my comment isnt worth much. More recently Ive stayed at the Don Plaza. The rooms there are better, but the steep stairs maybe a problem for the less active. My problem with hotels in Sunee and BT is the noise if you have an early night. Of couse there is no difficulty bringing boys back at either hotel subject to ID checks.
  13. Thanks for that report biguyby - I'm due in Pats August but i haven't bought my air ticket yet. I dont like it when the bars are very quiet - i feel uncomfortable when there are few customers in a bar and more so if I'm the only one. During my March trip I found Sunny Boys the best bar for twinks and it was my major source of offs apart from GR. Looking forward to the report on your visit to Dongtan Beach. Im one of contributors who bemoan the decline of the beach as a place to hook up with boys. It was great when I first visited Pats some 9 years ago. Plenty of boys in speedos then as per my avator.

  16. Millions of cars from Britain have been driven on the European Continent and vice-versa. You just have to adapt.
  17. Up to about 8 years ago, when I discovered Thailand and Pattaya, I used spend my holidays on the Canary Islands at the resort of Playa del Ingles. There gay life focussed on a section of the beautiful beach and the large area of sun dunes, where gays went for sex despite the efforts of the police. There was an area of bars and clubs called the Yumbo Centre, which was also gay, and where rent boys were available. I found no difficulty in finding young boyfriends, although of course I was better looking in those days. It is only 4.5 hour flight from the UK and accommodation costs are modest. The beach is superb as is the climate. However Ive never been back since and instead I make an arduous 24 hour journey to Pattaya, where the beach is poor, and the climate is humid and too hot. Why ? - we all know why. THAI BOYS !
  18. Biguyby - Im with you on the £200 Uk rent boy tip, and I don't think this figure is at all unusual. I save my money for my regular Thai trips. I think your budget of 1500 baht per day is serious economy. I probably spend nearly three times this amount and like you my alcohol intake is very limited. Boy tips are a big item as I like one in my bed most nights and Im quite generous. I suppose bearing in mind the cost of flights and accommodation I could have cheaper sex at home, but like firecat Im addicted to cute Thai boys. In Europe I hear good reports on Prague, which has a vibrant gay scene.
  19. Im in a similar position biguyby. Recently retired so now plenty of time, but with more limited resources than formally. I plan to make 3 trips a year to Pattaya - one recently in March, one in September and maybe one in November. These months are rather low season. Prices for flights and hotels are lower then. No variation in drink prices, but Im not a big drinker. Tips for boys don't seem to vary much, however I've never been to LOS over the Christmas period. Perhaps the boys are more ambitious tip-wise then.
  20. In terms of quantity there is never a shortage of boys, but in busy times the hot boys can be in demand both in the bars and from GR. You enter a gogo and spot a twink (Im into them also like most older farang gays) with a slim smooth body, large bulge and lovely face. However before you have ordered a drink some other guy has him and is proceeding to enjoy. You are jealous and wait a while hoping that he will leave and allow you to takeover but the off takes place. This happens to me less in low season when the hot boys are more available. But like other posters I dislike finding the gay areas resembling a British holiday resort on a wet November afternoon ( much higher temperature of course). Ive been on Dongtan gay beach in June and found acres of empty chairs with not a boy in speedos to be seen !.
  21. One thing i don't like about Low Season is going into a Gogo and finding I'm the only customer. When Im through the door I don't like immediately turning round and walking out - i suppose I'm too polite, so I order a drink and the boys start putting down their phones and begin reluctantly shuffling. This is a contrast to high season when there would be plenty of customers looking for offs and the boys would put on a show.
  22. Ive recently returned from a 3.5 week visit to Pattaya during which I enjoyed the boys to the full. I did not encounter a 100% dud, but of course some were better than others. I had about eight (memories are now fading and I dont keep a diary !) overnight in my bed and with them I tried to establish their sexual orientation before either offing or making arrangements on GR. Im versatile tending towards bottom so a reliable top was an acceptable specification. I generally used the term "man" which was usually understood but I never posed the question "you like girls or boys". One boy who said he was Man did in fact bottom as well. Versatile did not seem to be a term in use by the boys. With GR boys it is harder to establish their attributes - you cant always rely on the entry and the delay with the text replies and getting answers like "yes" leaves one unconvinced. In a bar you can check them out before offing - feeling their dicks and tongue kissing. However Vinapu's point about "the joy of discovery" resonates with me. Roll on my next trip !.
  23. I agree with Vinapu about boys performing better after the first session. This is often my experience. With the first off there is the unfamiliar factor - he doesn't know me and what I like (Im more bottom and like prolonged kissing). I don't know how he is going to perform and whether there will any problems. On subsequent dates he knows I will be a good tipper, especially for overnights and will treat him well and that I stay in good hotels and apartments. I make relatively short visits (3 or 4 weeks) to LOS, especially Pattaya, for gay sex. I tend to be butterfly in my first week but then retain boys for longer periods, during which I get to know them as more than a sex object, and occasionally take them to the beach or even to Koh Samet. Im always realistic. I know as an older gay there is a big gap between me and a 18-25 Thai Boy !.
  24. It must be at least four years since Euro Boys gogo closed. Not sure how long it was open. I recall it was rather a small place with mirroirs and chrome fittings. Didnt the boys dance holding ropes dangling from the ceiling, wearing shorts with lace up sides. There were benchs running down the sides with the dancers in the middle. The bar was towards the back. Boys were mainly skinny twinks.
  25. I was in Pattaya from early March for three weeks and it was noticeable during that period the reduction in the number of gay farangs, like myself, on Dongtan Beach. Of course there is a corresponding reduction in the number of boys in town looking to service them. Its the old supply and demand equation !. April is the month of Songcran when I avoid Thailand like the plague.
