I would echo ChristianPFC opinions regarding boy’s tattoos. When I first visited Pattaya they were much less common so it was easy to find boys without them. Now zero tattoos boys are in the minority so gay tourists like myself cannot be so selective when looking for an attractive “boyfriend”. Tattoo artists must be one of the largest employee categories and studios abound on every road and Soi, catering for both male and female customers. I notice that a fair proportion of tattoos seem to have a Buddhist religious significance but I’ve yet to learn more about this. I once had several henna tattoos so see how I looked, but I didn’t like the result and was happy when they faded. As to blonde/bleached hair, I find this exotic and attractive on boys. One decoration which has not taken off in recent years as far a boys are concerned are body piercings, which only a few boys have. 20 years ago I had my nipples pierced with rings inserted, which boyfriends enjoyed playing with, but they caused irritation and I removed them permanently. I’ve never seen this decoration on Asian money boys.

Vinapu’s wise words should put this controversy to bed, which has come up a number of times in these pages. I first discovered Pattaya as a gay tourist more than 20 years ago and it was if I had found heaven. My orientation has changed since then from being a highly charged top to enjoying sex more broadly, but in my many visits to Pats I have always enjoyed the boys and the gay ambiance to be found there. Since then I have not returned to the Mediterranean resorts where I previously spent my holidays. I usually like to do a side trip to Bkk where the massages and “hunk” bars are great, but Pattaya always has been my place. I like beaches particularly when accompanied by an attractive boy and I think the sea air dies me good.

Yes I should have mentioned Boyztown. When I typed I was thinking of my last trip when I stayed very close to BT, but offed 3 twinks from the Complex, 1 lad from Winner and 2 boys from Grindr ( one of them, from Mozambique I had LT FOR 3 nights). For some reason, despite visits to Toyboys no boys from there found their way to my bed.

Across Grindr , The Complex and Winner Boys, Pattaya still has plenty to attract gay tourists looking for sex and fun with Asian boys.

Like Londoner I have not visited BBB much during my 22 years of making innumerable boy (especially twinks) orientated visits to Pattaya. The last time was before Covid and I only have a vague memory of the first time, but I do remember the 9 (?) pm parade. I do recall seeing women customers in BBB some years ago and being surprised and uncomfortable about that, it being not usual in a gay bar, especially when they were getting the attention of the most attractive boys. ive never been to The Gambia or indeed Africa at all - I suspect that gay men would not be welcome there. Although maybe Mozambique would be good. During a recent Pattaya visit I contacted a boy from there on Grindr for a two day boyfriend experience.

Ive searched my memory for that straight bar with the couples dancing, but going back 20 years I cannot recall it. Of course the Jomtien Complex, now Supertown, is not 100% gay. Apart from the Poseidon, the hotels all have straight guests who seem to have have no problems with us gays and our Asian boyfriends, particularly whilst around the pool. Also str couples are to be seen in the restaurants and whilst strolling around looking at the action in the gay bars.

Thanks WelshGuyUK certainly some hot cute boys featured in that Facebook post.

Fun Size bar ? Maybe to attract twink lovers ? Yes he’s really cute - hope the other boys in his bar are equally nice and offable. If so I will certainly pay a visit during my next trip.

There are a number of videos available on YouTube featuring hot guys at Fake Club in brief speedo type briefs parading on the stage being appreciated by a mixed audience of ladies and men of various ages. Definitely eye candy especially when they excite by constantly adjusting their briefs. I’ve never actually been there so I’ve no idea if the boys can be offed, but in Thailand most things are available for a price.

For me the price of the drinks is not the issue in a gay bar. I’m not a big drinker. What I want to find is sexy lovely boys to entertain me both in the bar and maybe later in bed. The Winner bar delivers.

No doubt gays have higher spending power compared with str visitors to Thailand. However for this gay, my spending power is directed, like bkkmfj2648’s more towards boys and associated bars/massages rather than shopping malls or expensive resort hotels. When making a purchase I am usually to be found in markets, like the one in Soi Buakhow, Pattaya. However I will no doubt visit malls if I hear there is anything in them of interest to myself. -
Another picture of Eric - money boy from Madagascar . One of a group resident in Pattaya on student visas.

Great video showing boys dancing on the elevated tables at Krazy Dragon. Was it a staged sequence for publicity or marketing as I don’t recall that many boys performing on an average night ?. Those loose white shorts were a “turn-on” with slits affording groping hands easy access after giving a small tip. I do remember the boys circulating by jumping from table to table, without ever falling off. I must have offed from KG but I can’t bring to mind an instance. Maybe the twinky boys in the other Sunee gogos were more of an attraction in that era.

I’ve visited Pattaya for more than 20 years with my stays ranging from around 2 weeks to over 2 months in duration, although since Covid they have been mostly the former, with 90% being in the Boystown “ghetto” or the Jomtien Complex, as I feel more confortable in gay or gay friendly hotels, despite seldom having issues elsewhere. In the Complex I have mostly chosen the Zing although I have tried the others (but never the Venue). The rooms there are a little on the “basic” side but so are the rates, and the pool is a big asset for myself and often my “boyfriends”.
-
Love to see a couple of the Winner boys dancing wearing jocks in the picture . Over the years I’ve always believed that in gogos this garb should be a sexy variation from briefs. I usually bring a selection of jocks when I make a trip to Pattaya for my “boyfriends” to wear in my room before sex.

As a long standing devotee of Winner I would have definitely attended the Party. The vision of near naked boys, tasty food, lower priced drinks and a good attendance of fellow gay tourists and expats, all reliving the glory days of Sunee 20 years ago. Hope the business is still there for my next trip

I think Mr Gareth, the unfortunate victim, was extremely unlucky to slip in such a way to impale himself on the glass. A really freak accident ? Maybe ? you mention boys Keith. The biggest accident risk they run is injury as a result of motor bike accidents. I’ve had the need over the years to examine boy’s bodies for research purposes and found that most have scars from these accidents plus very often evidence of broken collar bones. There is an instinctive tendency to use the arm to brake falls from moving motor bikes, cycles, and moving ridden animals causing fractures. Boys also sometimes show burn scars following cooking in their rooms with unsafe equipment using most frequently bottled gas.

I’m always wary of wet tiled floors in Thailand in the shower or round the pool. I have the impression that cheaper smooth ceramic tiles are used, whereas in the “West” they are non-slip. That resulted from a fall I had getting out of a Thai hotel pool when I slipped and fell striking my chest against a raised edge. I thought I had broken a rib, but an X-ray at the Bangkok.Pattaya hospital revealed bruised ribs which remained painful for the rest of my trip.

I had a week’s stay at the Classroom recently and only moved for my second week because I like a swimming pool. As Vinapu has mentioned there is a side door affording access with the room card, avoiding the reception and the indoor hotel bar. A boy from Madagascar liked this as he seemed nervous about showing his I’d. I don’t really know if it should be regarded as a gay hotel, as is the nearby Ambiance, but one night another guest with a boy shared the lift with me and my overnight “boyfriend”. Bearing in mind its position I did wonder if I would experience overnight noise, but that was not the case. i would definitely stay there again making the reservation direct with the Classroom using their website.

I had a 22 year old Madagascar boy in my bed twice during my recent two week stay in Pattaya. Sexy lithe brown body . Rock hard dick he used to top me. Contacted him on Grindr. He’s in Thailand on a student visa and told me that it would expire soon. His attendance at college courses was zero. Apparently there is a small group of Madagascar lads in Pattaya in the same position. He seemed nervous when I took him to my hotel (The Classroom) but was relieved when I conducted to my room via the side entrance. He was worried about presenting Id.

The decline in the Pattaya gay scene has been documented at length in these pages . So the question is whether it is an enjoyable place for gay men who enjoy the delights of Asian guys to visit for a short vacation or a long stay ? i am nearly at the end of two week stay and have very much enjoyed my visit. The two hotels I have used have been excellent, particularly the Classroom, on the edge of BT, where I stayed for my first week, moving on only because I prefer a resort hotel with a swimming pool in which I like to take exercise. Pattaya is still fantastic value for money, in respect of hotels, meals and of course boys. I’ve enjoyed the unbroken sunshine which has done a lot for my morale after 4 months of the British gloomy wet winter. I have used Grindr to make contact and whilst it has faults It did deliver 4 separate boys, who by and large I enjoyed in my bed. One I kept for two nights and visited with him the gay Dongtan beach plus bars during the day in between. I also offed two (twinks) from The Complex and one from Winner. Another gorgeous guy I met on a Bart bus in transit to Jomtien when he jumped on a short distance from commencement and gave me his telephone number. If I had more time I would certainly have made a side trip to Bangkok, and I expect to do that dusting my next visit later in the year. -

The boys from Cambodia and Laos can converse in Thai because their native languages are similar to Thai. The Burmese lad was able to tell me he could not understand Thai as his language is completely different. His bar was 100% Burmese. Talking to another customer we both formed the impression that a proportion of the boys have only recently arrived to work in the bars and are rather unsophisticated as regards to gay sex and it can be difficult to establish their orientation. On my second visit to the Complex I offed a boy from Laos who could speak English and had worked bar 6 months and who was able to tell me he was versatile, which proved to be the case during a LT off (400 to the bar, boys tip 2000). -

I’m glad I experienced Pattaya in the period 2002 to 2006, when I was young enough to take full advantage. Now in 2024 I have found Boyztown has only two functioning gogos and Sunee is like a Western ghost town. The busy Jomtien Complex on the other hand is like attending the United Nations with boys (many twinks) from all parts of Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, possibly Vietnam but I have not not come across one from there. Expertise using Google Translate is an important skill when trying to communicate especially as many seem to have only recently arrived in Thailand. Last night I could not make much progress when trying to talk to a Burmese boy as there does not seem to be an English - Burmese google facility, but maybe I didn’t look hard enough. Likewise the customers are drawn from virtually all parts of the first world (Europe, Australasia, USA/Canada) and many appear to be taking vacations from their retirement homes. The Dongtan Beach gay section is flourishing despite reports of its death. I have enjoyed over several days the confortable chairs, good food/drinks service, and the wonderful weather. The few older ladies encroaching do not detract from the ambiance, but only one or two customers were accompanied by their young boyfriends.
