  1. A&P (Arthur & Paul) is a great place to stay. Lots of fun to be had with the massage guys (Walter & Guru in particular but Lennie was a dud) and the cute bartender after closing time.
  2. I stayed at Rambutan. Great staff, beautiful environment, quiet and just a short stroll to pub street for evening activities. Highly recommended.
  3. Maybe in some parts of the world but generally not within the UK. In the UK, we have TRONC systems which manage the distribution of tips and indeed the tax payable on tips. The schemes are administered by the Troncmaster who is elected by the staff. There is lots of information regarding TRONC if you search on Google. There will of course be some small independent restaurants with disreputable owners who do not distribute the tips but the TRONCS generally work well.
  4. Perhaps these people with canes are heading to The Castle BDSM club in Pattaya?
  5. At least in the USA if you get terrible service and feel it is the wait persons fault you can withhold or lower the tip given. In the UK you have no such option which is why that is the place I have gotten some of the worst service in the world and still had to pay for it. A great way to have a good meal ruined is if the waiter comes up with trite cliched phrases like "Enjoy", or " How is your meal?" or enen worse "You're Welcome" after you have thanked them for something. Such patronising synthetic waiter speak (or wait person speak) which is all too common in USA is a damn good reason to withhold a tip so just as well the tip is not included in USA. In France where we enjoy "Service Compris" the waiters tend to be far more professional and treat their customers as individuals and converse with them appropriately and with respect as a result.
  6. The best system is the French system......"Service Compris" which is a legal requirement. That said I am told that French waiters (or wait persons to use Firecat69's extraordinary terminology) do love it when Americans visit as their understanding of the French language is so poor that they leave another 20% on top anyway!
  7. Well said Vinapu. Sadly Firecat doesn't seem to realise that when stuck in a hole, you don't keep digging. His posts are ever more ridiculous.
  8. Firecat - Here in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland we have an expression "Can't see the wood for the trees". Over time and reading your posts, I have come to realise that you can't see the wood for the trees. Numazu has contributed the most excellent detailed field reports which are entertaining the read and most useful to followers of this board. In the past you have also contributed some good information. However it seems wholly ridiculous for you take issue with Numazu for reporting what he was told about a scam involving mobile phones. Why on earth are you criticising him for passing on what he was told. It is surely helpful for other members who are now alert to this possibility and can take action to prevent being scammed. You are right it will be a small minority's, but still useful for us to be aware of the possibility. I enjoy reading your field reports too - but please don't pick petty holes in other contributors reports. Otherwise, at the end of the day, board members will lose respect for you. An apology to Numazu would not go amiss and would reestablish your previous credibility as a valued member and contributor to this board.
  9. Are there any fuck shows taking place these days or have the army and boys in blue put a stop to that?
  10. Should this not be moved into the GayAsia forum? This seems the wrong place for photos promoting a Spa in Kuala Lumpur.
  11. . Paul, M Gallery is Gay friendly. Not sure about ID situation!
  12. Damn kind of you to take the time to write up a most comprehensive field report Vinapu. I very much look forward to the posting of future instalments.
  13. I stayed at the excellent QI68 hotel which is gay owned and operated and was most satisfactory in every way. It is 2.3km from Adams A so well within your preset 3km radius. The walk to Adams was about 15 minutes but quicker by TukTuk.
  14. I wonder if the masseur can be hired for off the premises activity and would offer more comprehensive services in your hotel / apartment. Might be worth enquiring on your next visit?
  15. I stayed at Ambience in 2014 and thought it was a pretty horrific experience. Very noisy and beds were uncomfortable and generally the whole place was in need of refurbishment and upgrading. I think the M Gallery by Sofitel is a much better option - a little priceier but a whole load classier - and any guys you take back to your room will really appreciate that. Also only a short walk from Boyztown. Slightly more expensive but much better value for money.
  16. Shame about the tattoo. A good looking guy until that arrived.........vandalism of the body.
  17. Many airlines Terms and Conditions reserve the airline the right to charge the credit / debit card that was used for the original booking with the balance between the more expensive single fare and the cheaper return. According to frequent flyer programmes, some airlines tend to let you off the first time but are less tolerant with serial offenders.
  18. Abi, the risk of crashing is remote. Your chances of getting Deep Vein Thrombosis are greater and yet this can be reduced if you take a non- direct flight involving a change and walking into through a terminal after six hours. I always used to fly direct from London to BKK with Thai or BA but now pr fear to travel with Qatar via Doha. It is an altogether much more civilised experience.
  19. Abi, I suggest you look at flying with one of the ME3 (Qatar, Emitates or Eihad) carriers and book into business class from AMS to BKK when they offer a seat sale. Infinitely preferable to KLM who offer a very inferior product in all cabins. The stopover, if short, helps avoid jet lag and DVT. My next visit to Thailand is in November from London and I am taking a positioning flight to AMS and then fly on from there with Qatar in the business cabin for circa £1,000 return. Excellent value.
  20. An excellent report Tom. Would love to hear about your exploits with the couple of guys you met in BKK in the last week.......
  21. Table Mountain is pretty spectacular but other than that I find Cape Town a fairly depressing city with a high and increasing crime rate. I have been fortunate enough to travel to many cities around the world and Cape Town certainly wouldn't be anywhere close to featuring in the top 10.
  22. You lucky chap. Looking forward to reading your field reports and learning about your exploits. So glad you will be sharing your investigations into the Thai male anatomy with us.
  23. Damn kind of you to go to so much trouble and effort to prepare such an excellent and useful chart DivineMadman. I am sure many will benefit enormously. I wonder if the operator of www.gaythailand.com would be prepared to put a link to your marvellous chart on the home page so we can all find it easily in the future. Even better if it could include links through to the pages in the rather underused Gay Thailand Businesses - Gay Bangkok section and encourage other members visiting these first class massage establishments to submit their own field reports. My thanks to you again. Splendid stuff.
  24. Well I sincerely hope Numazu starts posting again stood. His reports have been enlightening and well written. As for FossilGay's comments - well I think these are best ignored. The very name FOSSILGay conjures up images of an ancient man with an obsolete penis that can't even be stirred by a double dose of viagra. Frustrated and bitter, all he can do is pathetically attempt to pick holes in tales of others enjoyment. Sad.
  25. Thank Buddha / Thank God for that.
