  1. Fixed price for taxi to Pattaya from Suv airport is 1050 Baht incl. toll fee... but at departure level you can hire taxi for 1000 Baht and even for 900.
  2. Ah... Do you trust to everything what people tell you? It's easy to check - look at GayRomeo... You will found some accounts with known from MEN's faces there, but will not found anyone from GB... Staff from MEN's tell "I'm straight" coz it easy "to keep distance" with guests at this case, but profiles will tell you true And about gayfriendly hotels: yes, as I wrote - there are many gayfriendly hotels in Siem Reap, but in general cambodian people are more conservative about gays. It isn't like in Thailand where in general nobody worry about behavior.
  3. Very good report, thank you Since in 2010 I have been in Siem reap 5 times already, I will put here few "fixes" coz Siem Reap changes very quickly 1. Golden Banana since July has 4 parts - new one is new part of B&B - with chic rooms and pool. If count price\quality ratio - now it is the best part of Golden Banana. IMHO resort in GB is overpriced. Staff in GB mainly straights, but they are extremely friendly, guests are allowed in GB for free (1$ for extra towel). Food in GB's restaurant is so-so, but their Lemon Ice Tea is the best in Siem Reap. Walking time from GB to Pub Street is about 5-7 min. 2. Men's resort. It is men only hotel. No womans allowed to enter in Hotel. MR is best place if you come to SR for Angkor AND for "adventures" coz every evening (6PM-10PM) sauna in MR is filled with local boys and they aren't moneyboys. Sauna has "Turkish\steam" and "Sweden\dry steam" sauna-rooms, dark labyrinth with private rooms - each with door, fan and dimmed light, paper towels. As well complex has big jacuzzi (for about 12-14 persons), pool with sea water. Entrance fee for locals is only 4$, for tourists 7$, for guests of hotel - free. In MR guests are allowed, free. Hotel has very good bar near pool. Since one of owners is from France french meals in MR are very good. In MR resort they offer only oil massage (good) for 18$. There are no sport\thai\khmer\foot massage. MR has own tuk tuk and car. Time to Pub Street by tuk tuk is 10 min, price 2$. 3. Temple bar\disco has very small dance floor - just about 3x4 m so it is VERY crowded every time. Just behind Temple (and Pub street) at next very small street is local disco (formely name "Hard Rock"). 4. Linga bar is one only officially gay bar in SR since Miss Wong is "gayfriendly". Crowded every evening with moneyboys Linga bar is interesting only for to watch queer-show by Saturday evenings, you cannot find there local boys who is waiting for some meetings "for free". 5. Best place to eat native khmer food is "Khmer Soup" restaurant at Pub Street (about 10$ per evening\per person\with alcohol and tips). More simple but VERY popular with locals is "Karo" - just 50 m from Pub Street, close to Night market (about 5$ per person) 6. Almost all hotels and "touristic" restaurants in SR accept bank cards (add 3-4% to rate) Few "IMHO": 1. Since Siem Reap is very small city (3x4 km) it isn't so important "where to stay for gay life" - if you will stay close to Pub Street then you will need visit Men's "for actions". If you will stay in Men's then you will visit Pub Street for dancing. In both cases you will have the same distance to Angkor (about 5 km to Park's entrance). 2. Do not forget to include to program of visit Tonle Sap - biggest lake in Cambodia with floating villages (after rain season lake takes about 5% of Cambodia's territory), 15$ per boat +15$ for car, 4 hours, best time to visit is before sunset (to watch from lake). 3. Normal hotels in SR not like in Thailand mainly not allowed to your guests overnight stay - check before booking if hotel is gayfriendly, some (few) hotels will offer for 2 men only twin rooms. But there are a lot of gayfriendly hotels in SR, don't worry (all mentioned in first post are GF).
  4. for travels I have 2-SIM phone and use 2 SIMs at the same time: local and my own... local SIM for Thailand is 1-2-CALL card... from my experience: 1-2-CALL has best covering in Thailand: even in hills at North of Thaialnd it continues to work when rest aren't working already (no signal) - from 2-sim phone it easy visible: when 1-2-CALL at local card continues to work, after few switches my own card est. roaming via 1-2-CALL too: rest networks are unreachable...
  5. I use their service many times from airport to PTT and back... rate is 200 Baht.
  6. Ok, I agree with you what 5000 isn't fair price and it is overpriced By the way: did you check Ef's massage?
  7. We spend 5 days at the begin of July in Rooms and 5 days in Tui's in best rooms of each - 1-st floor (both rooms are just wall-to-wall). So I can compare both guesthouses. Tui's - is more friendly, better kitchen, more simple rooms. In Tui's we got fire training when lighting system in our room started to burn and emit smog to room from under-cells. Shortcircut followed to that turn off all electricity in hotel then As well bathroom in Tui's was much more simple and looked more older (in fact it looks like bathroom from 500-Bath-guesthouse). There are not too much space at balcony and no roof - so at daylight is very hard to sit long time at balcony - too hot. One more detail - bed was very nice and soft, but made many noise Price was 1200 Baht + 300 baht for 3-d person. Rooms - more moderm style, more chick room, very clean bathroom. Yes stone jacuzzi in balcony isn't modern, but we spent a lot of time in it. And balcony has roof and "screens" by sides - so you can spend hot time in shadow. Room's staff wasn't so friendly like it was in Tui's. Breakfast was much more expensive than in Tui's. Price was 1600 baht + 300 baht for 3-d person. In first half of July there were no construction noise in Rooms.
  8. Rooms Club at next door with Tui's has jacuzzi and rainforest shower at balcony
  9. High season starts... About recommendations: I wrote already my point of view - I like to have accommodation with sea view and eye-candy view so I prefer to stay very close to beach - in Jomtien: there are about 5 gay hotels and even more gay friendly hotels, so you can choose from 600 Baht till 3000 per night...
  10. Usually I use booking in 3 months in advance and have price from Europe to BKK about $560-610 with Emirates or Qatar Airways in low season and about $590-690 in high season. Past year I got $660 even in Christmas time with Swiss. Sometimes when I have free time I use "last minute" offers for short visits (7-12 days) if have nice offers from charter's market - it can be as low as $380 (all mentioned prices are for 2-way tickets in economy class). I just check - lowest price for now for December LHR-BKK-LHR offer Air India for $770(2-way) Dec.9 - Dec.26 via Mumbai (transfers 1.5 hours)
  11. Even when I like "to eat meat" I prefer not stay in hotels in center of "meat market"... in fact it is the same like "Ambiance": in center of noise of bars in gay area within path of straight touristic groups ... their prices are with marketing tricks: without taxes and without breakfast...
  12. Gentleman! Yesterday I had conversation with Ef. He asks all of you who got his service to write reference about his technique of massage and your impressions. You can do it from this page of his massage website or write here and I will send it to Ef. I think it will help Ef's business, he is good men
  13. I have no idea why to rent bike in PTT if baht bus cost only 10 baht...If we will start to talk about Samui (for example) where bus cost 60 Baht - then it have some sense.. But in PTT for ride within city...
  14. My point of view on this locations is opposite to your When I stay in Jomtien - I can visit beach as many times per day as I want, can to have siesta (day time sleeping), can to have nice clean shower as many times as I want, and visit (sorry) my personal and very clean WC, I can not change swimsuit before I want to visit my room, can walk out from hotel directly in swimming clothes and don't carry with me towel. And for to visit BoysTown or Sunee I will need the same bahtbus, at evening time and it will be more easy - coz they work 24 hours but by evenings and nights they aren't crowded like at day time and at this time as well no traffic jams. For example you can't have in Ambiance balcony with recliners and jacuzzi&shower, table and chairs and everything in flowers, but you can have this in Room's Club in Jomtien. Just imagine: you are laying in jacuzzi at balcony with you BF or guest, eating fruts, drinking wine and watching sunset... ah... In Bondi you will have more simple room, but still nice and clean just for 900 with balcony (again, nice seaview) and one of the best coffee from gay places in Pattaya (don't tell me about coffee in Ambiance... brrr....) In Tui's you will have excelent thai food in restaurant from early morning till late evening (what you can eat in Ambiance if you are lazy to go out?) So I prefer have once per day two-way trip to Sunee or BoysTown, than spend whole daylight-time in uncomfortable conditions just in sitting in chair at the beach...
  15. did you mean 1200 Baht? coz price of 1114 do not include taxes... I had stays in all gay-hotels in Jomtien beach and prefer this location coz it has more nice view at day time as well 3 of 4 hotels have prices lower than Ambiance. One more advantage is after walk-out from hotel in 5 steps you are at the beach's sand. I had one stay in Ambiance and prefer Jomtien now.
  16. Yeahh He is cute
  17. As per my friend rainy weather still is in Cambodia. Two heavy rains for past two days overfill river in Siem Reap, water is on the streets. More images of flood in Siem Reap are in the blog of Angkorboy.

    Am I nuts?

It's depends on boy... Homeless boy from beach will glad to join you even for 300 Bahts, Lao and Cambodian boys from Walking street or other "freelancers areas" will join you for 300-500-700 Bahts, Thai boys from bars will say you "up to you" but will expect 1000 Baht for short... Only cutest of bar's boy may be will pretend for more than 1000 for short time...
  19. I'm wonder about debates... "democrats", "republicans"... Gents, USA-economic is deep in asshole. Anyone who will resolve this problem will become unpopular very soon: coz he will must cut, cut and cut everything: government's expenses to social programs, to salary for clerks, to military... to every thing... or "kill" dollar and establish something like "amero"... Look at USA-debts... No ways to be popular and at the same improve situation with jobless, and economic on knees...
  20. I suggest Bell Service as well... if your flight will landing at 11-30, then you will have exit from custom's zone about 12-30 or even 13-00... just proceed to first floor and you will find boy with "Bell Service" plate inside building near exit #8, as well all bus-companies are there... Bell with "door to door" service is the best, but there are bus to Jomtien from another company at 13-00...
  21. Heh... To trust in words of doorman is the same like to trust if Santa Clause...
  22. Yesterday 787 had emergency landing in Seattle during testing flight coz of failure of GE engines... in 2010: Boeing got orders for 288 airplanes and 78 cancellation of orders Airbus got orders for 328 airplanes and 51 cancellation of orders
  23. The same with Opera: I see loginbox only at "home" page
  24. yes, at least 3-4 comps or even all has webcams in i-netshops... guys from Romeo ask for cams mostly coz they want to know if your profile isn't fake and you are the same age as it is mentioned in your profile...
  25. You are right. But main word in your post is first - IF. For now even more quickly growing of RMB (yuan from China), rupiah from India and Yen from japan against Baht can easy substitute this growing of Baht against dollar and few more currencies. India, Malaysia, Japan and especially - China are much close to Thailand, travel from this countries is much cheaper than from USA or Europe. So I don't think if touristic market will sense any loosing.
