  1. Trains arent Shinkansen - they are: CRH380B & CRH380C - Siemens CRH380D is Bombardier's Zefiro 380
  2. It is just small kitsch museum for tourists. Check this list: - Ostankino TV tower (545m) with restaurant at 333 m (some parts of floor are transparent (glass)) - very close Ostankino palace and museum of russian history (17-19 centuries) - Stalin's underground shelter (bunker) - museum of "Cold War" in military shelter - Moscow metro by night - Tanks museum in Kubinka (30 km from Moscow) - if you will prep. in advance and have enough money - then you can order to drive tank and even to make shoot ($1000) - Museum of diamonds in Kremlin (very limited offer coz of security reasosns they allow to visit about only 250 persons per day, 4 days at week)
  3. exactly! railroad is more complicated than just terminal - coz all controlling systems, all automatic is distributed at big distance... modern power supply systems are very complicated too: it isn't just a power plug and power outlet... chinnese got failure at time of strong light storm and heavy rain, it is normal for first days and even weeks...
  4. After opening of BA terminal at London they had even sort luggage manually for 1 week ) Mess was about 2 month... ant this is only "small terminal" in comp. with railroad...

it is working in many other sites but not in sites which are so huge as Angkor Wat or Angkor Thom are... Imagine: Angkor Wat + Angkor Thom + 3-4 other "must see or die" sites. If you can wake up early then you will have 8-9 hours to watch. You will have about 3 hours for Angkor Wat and about 1 hour for each next site then. Angkor Wat is 1 km x 1 km site with apr. 800-m gallery of carving (history of Hinduism, gods of hinduism, history of god's war, history khmer imperia), and main temple with 3 levels. I'm not sure if you can to find on site every interesting place and watch it by yourself even with book in hand and map just for 3 hours. It is huge! That why I wrote about guide for Angkor Wat and small circle of temples. Prices for guiding are the close to be the same in whole Siem Reap per day: English 25$/30$ (low season/high season) French 30/35 German/Spain 35/40 Japan/Korean/Chinese 40/45 other: 50/75 (app)

I agree 100%. If you want to visit Angkor Wat just for to be sure if it is exist and it is 76 meters tall - then you don't need guide. But if you want to know Angkor, his history - you need guide at least for time of visit to Angkor Wat and temples of small circle. By the way - rules of Angkor Park forbid to drivers to leave their cars and tuk-tuk when they are inside of park, so they can't assit you inside of sites.

It's not fair I post this pic coz I did this shot and I like this pic It was my choice which image will be attached to my post. There are a lot of photos at website. Have you visit it? By the way: name of this boy isn't Pelu. 100%. I know them both - Pelu (you can find his photos at Men's Resort advertising) and Chay (who is at this photo). They looks similar but they even aren't relatives.
  8. The situation isn't for me so clear as it is described in article. I'm sure - army will not allows returning of Taksin. For now army's position is: But they can change their mind if something will be "wrong".

  10. It is about buses and wans from Khaosan Road. They try to delay you on the way till dark time.
  11. Mo Сhit Bus Terminal near Chatuchak Market There are 2 bus companies: one is state and one is private. State buses are more comfortable, cheap and use shorter path to the border. Cost is about 250 Baht, 4-4.5 hours. To talk about "quick" you can only about taxi. Other - wans and buses - take the same time 4-4.5 hours

"must have" or "have"? anyway: my reply is about groups of Japanese who is walking via Boyztown one by one and take pictures... I don't like to be model for them - I feel myself like a monkey in zoo then...
  13. minivans are wrong way from BKK: - they are small and there are not enough space for legs, I suggest to use first class buses instead: they have about 1 m space before next row of seat - usually they are connected with some touts at border and try to be with connected minibus at cambodian side in SR after sunset for to "sell" you in questhouse for %% commission "Mister it is already dark and dangerous at streets, you must stay here".
  14. 2 years I don't visit Sansuk cuz some bad experiences there in past. But in general - "peak time" is btw 5 and 8 PM

For me Boyztown is primary place for straight tourists to watch gays and gay-place ("famous BoyzTown!"). Japanese with cameras... Sunee - is primary for gays.
  16. Taxi from SR to Poipet is 30-35 and don't depends on q-ty of passengers, but taxi to SR from border cost more cuz bribes in Poipet: every driver must pay to police in Poipet 10-15$ for each farang which he pickups in Poipet.
  17. 2500-2700 per taxi PTT-Poipet (3-3.5 hours), 25$ per car + 15 per person Poipet-Siem Reap 1.5 hours Border crossing is 15 min if you have e-visa and cross border before noon.
  18. yes, they have is since 2005:
  19. Did you mean "was known before" with prev. owner?
  20. Oh, don't tell me what you expect the same "luxury level" from small hotel with prices 500-600 baht and from resort with prices 2600-6500 baht per night
  21. Farang (falang) = foreigner Condoms: better bring with you - in Thailand they have small sizes in shops... and in pants Free testing is available in Thailand, but mainly it is up to boys if they visit testing or not. New type of ID have date of birthday in both styles thai and "normal": look at the center:
  22. As per website DD Inn guesthouse (Jomtien, Pattaya) has new staff. Mmmm...nice
  23. It is just private press-release of private company. There are no any info about this news on web pages of Thai MFA.
  24. At October 2009 when Om Yim had no rooms for me (I got idea to travel to BKK just in 4 days in advance) I had stay in "Glow...". It was before renovation and hotel was terrible: dusty carpets, old furniture, cracks on wall and floor tiles. Transparent as tea coffee at breakfast. Instead of planned stay for 5 days I left hotel at next day. Hope it is now better after renovation: at least references now aren't so bad at Tripadvizor.
