  1. Hi all, I've been meaning to share my experience from my trip to Medellin back in August 2024 but didn't find the time to actually do it 😅. Finally managed to sit down and pen this out. It will be just a brief report on my experience. I was there for about 1 week during the Fiera de Flores, and stayed at Poblado. Weather It was technically winter when I was there but weather was perfect. There were a few short rain spells but otherwise, it was sunny mostly with a chilly temperature. Hotel I stayed at Haven, A Design Hotel smacked in the middle of Poblado. Their staff were all amazing but just a head's up, this hotel really is for those who like to party. Their rooftop pool/bar host events on the weekend and the music is so loud and lasts till early morning (around 4 am, I think), you won't get much sleep. Weekdays are a bit more bearable but the hotel is surrounded by bars, so still pretty noisy. But they do give you complementary ear plugs 😅. The hotel does have a clear additional visitor/guest policy. I noticed they're pretty open about it, so I'm guessing it is sort of a known thing that those who stay there tend to bring guests back to the room? Just my guess though. All said, I would still stay here in my next visit. Haha Language Not being able to speak Spanish can be quite the challenge. While you can always use a translator app, it is not convenient to meet with guys or even do the usual day-to-day things. Security I've read a lot of tips when it comes to safety prior to trip. When I was there, I did not have any issues with safety nor did I feel I was unsafe or insecure at any time. Perhaps it is the neighbourhood but ultimately, I do feel that if you take reasonable precautions, you'll be alright. Gay Bars I only went to 2 gay bars while I was there; Afrodisia and Bar Chiquita. They have quite a different vibe from each other, the former for classy-bougie ish while the latter is pretty much your normal bar/club type. I personally prefer Bar Chiquita and went there a couple of times. Boys There are plenty of guys on Grindr. Quite of them around Poblado are for pay but I didn't engage with any of them as there are plenty of keen guys not looking for payment. I've met a few guys on other apps too (Bumble, Tinder). I do have to highlight that there are plenty of hot guys around, both locals and expats 🤣. I can see why some prefer coming here frequently. Cam Models Prior to coming here, I've been in contact with a few cam models in anticipation of meeting them. However, I only ended up meeting one model. Sweet guy who doesn't speak English. But with that kind of rock solid body, not much talking is required 🤣. The main problem I have with most models is how they change their mind and increased their rates the moment I actually reached Medellin. (One of them wanted to charge USD 1k ! 😅) Given the available options on Grindr (and most being either free or charge a much more reasonable rate), I just didn't bother anymore. Funny thing though is that when I stopped entertaining some of them with their request, they started messaging again offering lower rates. Oh well 🤷 Anyway, that is basically my experience. I will definitely return again and hopefully go into a bit more of an adventure with the guys there.

  3. If you stay in Bogota, Chapinero is the best place to stay for a first-time visitor. And teatron is a great disco. I'm into the same type of guys and had no problem finding them in Bogota or Medellin. Still I would go to Medellin. The city is more attractive, the climate is better and plenty of things to do (and an exciting gay nightlife as well). I also suffer from altitude sickness in Bogota (I come from a country at sea level). Always be wary about the location of guys on webcam. What's mentioned in the profile, is often not their actual location.

  4. Leaving today. No line at EVA business class checkin. Priority Lane, open, almost empty, noticed that staff were turning away those not entitled! No line through security. And, guess what, row of machines, all working, to scan passport! Worked a treat. I noticed there were also rows of machines for passports in economy section, and no line. I was very impressed. I was in lounge 65mins after leaving hotel!

  5. 2. You would be remiss to not spend time in Medellín given the proximity to the capital. but as noted you will find plenty of bottoms in both places. Medellín has become a major center for video webcamming with multiple studios around the city. and with very high youth unemployment in the country, many young men relocate just to do this type of work. For the vast majority of them it is a job, not a lifestyle. 3. The aforementioned "Dan" post, which I have not commented on until now, was the only post from that particular member. These wild jacuzzi parties with multiple webcam boys sound fantastic, except there is zero proof that these ever happened. Do these types of events occur in Medellín? Absolutely. But you will need to have more than a passing acquaintance with the city and its people before you will uncover those types of opportunities. There are several boy wranglers in the city that could make this happen, but that requires connections that were simply missing in the original post. Good luck with your planning -- hope you find exactly what you are hoping for in Colombia.

  9. Nothing in that list is remotely specific to Thailand. These, on the other hand: The palace/temple is closed today but the government is running a special promotion, today only, for just 10 baht this special tuktuk will take you to the Temple of the Lucky Buddha... You can buy these gemstones for a bargain price and sell them for a profit back home. We'll handle packaging and shipping... You want to pay by credit card? No problem. You use it to buy gold at the shop next door, then pay for your gems with the gold.

  10. Don‘t believe the hype. Yes, immigration and the economy were often cited as the reason for electing a 🤡/felon. In reality, the underlying reason was often related to preservation of a perceived national identity, racism and misogyny.

  11. I dont think we can call Barcode a gay bar anymore. The customers are now 50 to 70% female depending on the night. Straight women who seem to get thrilled to be in a "gay" bar. They must think it's the utmost fashion 😉 Or maybe it's just the show.

  13. And there are relatively few US citizens who’ll work in undesirable, low wage jobs in food processing. Trump knows that and will do what his backers tell him. There will be a big push to empower local police to check for status of anyone they stop for questioning and turn illegals over to Immigration authorities. Some states, however, prohibit this practice. The 2025 proposals see a way around this and it will end up before SCOTUS. Trump claims he wants to deploy federal troops to facilitate deportation but here he runs directly into the face of the “Posse Comitatus Act,” legislation originally enacted after Civil War to limit powers of government to interfere with states rights. It has even been strengthened over time and remains a cherished law, particularly in red states. The Posse Comitatus Act bars federal troops from participating in civilian law enforcement except when expressly authorized by law. This 143-year-old law embodies an American tradition that sees military interference in civilian affairs as a threat to both democracy and personal liberty. However, recent events have revealed dangerous gaps in the law’s coverage that Congress must address. What does the term “posse comitatus” mean? In British and American law, a posse comitatus is a group of people who are mobilized by the sheriff to suppress lawlessness in the county. In any classic Western film, when a lawman gathers a “posse” to pursue the outlaws, they are forming a posse comitatus. The Posse Comitatus Act is so named because one of the things it prohibits is using soldiers rather than civilians as a posse comitatus. What are the origins of the Posse Comitatus Act? The Posse Comitatus Act was passed in 1878, after the end of Reconstruction and the return of white supremacists to political power in both southern states and Congress. Through the law, Congress sought to ensure that the federal military would not be used to intervene in the establishment of Jim Crow in the former Confederacy. Despite the ignominious origins of the law itself, the broader principle that the military should not be allowed to interfere in the affairs of civilian government is a core American value. It finds expression in the Constitution’s division of power over the military between Congress and the president, and in the guarantees of the Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments, which were in part reactions to abuses committed by the British army against American colonists. Today, the Posse Comitatus Act operates as an extension of these constitutional safeguards. Moreover, there are statutory exceptions to the law that allow the president to use the military to suppress genuine rebellions and to enforce federal civil rights laws. What does the Posse Comitatus Act say? The Posse Comitatus Act consists of just one sentence: “Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.” In practice, this means that members of the military who are subject to the law may not participate in civilian law enforcement unless doing so is expressly authorized by a statute or the Constitution. Are all members of the military covered by the Posse Comitatus Act? No, only federal military personnel are covered. While the Posse Comitatus Act refers only to the Army and Air Force, a different statute extends the same rule to the Navy and Marine Corps. The Coast Guard, though part of the federal armed forces, has express statutory authority to perform law enforcement and is not bound by the Posse Comitatus Act. Members of the National Guard are rarely covered by the Posse Comitatus Act because they usually report to their state or territory’s governor. That means they are free to participate in law enforcement if doing so is consistent with state law. However, when Guard personnel are called into federal service, or “federalized,” they become part of the federal armed forces, which means they are bound by the Posse Comitatus Act until they are returned to state control. What are the main statutory exceptions to the Posse Comitatus Act? There are many statutory exceptions to the Posse Comitatus Act, but the most important one is the Insurrection Act. Under this law, in response to a state government’s request, the president may deploy the military to suppress an insurrection in that state. In addition, the Insurrection Act allows the president — with or without the state government’s consent — to use the military to enforce federal law or suppress a rebellion against federal authority in a state, or to protect a group of people’s civil rights when the state government is unable or unwilling to do so. What are the constitutional exceptions to the Posse Comitatus Act? There are no constitutional exceptions to the Posse Comitatus Act. The law allows only for express exceptions, and no part of the Constitution expressly empowers the president to use the military to execute the law. This conclusion is consistent with the law’s legislative history, which suggests that its drafters chose to include the language about constitutional exceptions as part of a face-saving compromise, not because they believed any existed. This has not stopped the Department of Defense from claiming that constitutional exceptions to the law exist. The Department has long claimed that the Constitution implicitly gives military commanders “emergency authority” to unilaterally use federal troops “to quell large-scale, unexpected civil disturbances” when doing so is “necessary” and prior authorization by the president is impossible. In the past, the department also claimed an inherent constitutional power to use the military to protect federal property and functions when local governments could not or would not do so. The validity of these claimed authorities has never been tested in court. https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/research-reports/posse-comitatus-act-explained

  14. I read an article in Saturday’s Sydney Morning Herald which quoted an immigration research organisation as stating that to deport all undocumented immigrants from the United States as promised by Trump would cost upwards of $US315 billion. His argument is that you can’t put a cost on such an “important “ policy. The cost, the practicalities, the drain on the labour market, humanitarian considerations are all factors that will come home to roost.

    Phoenix Massage Lat Phrao

Prompted by a video of their staff posted on their LINE feed, I satisfied a whim and paid a late afternoon visit to Phoenix Massage. My route took me from the MRT blue line station at Samyan to Lat Phrao where I connected to the MRT yellow line monorail. Although the signage is fairly good (follow Exit 4), it took me up and down escalators, up elevator, across parking garage on a 10-minute journey. Following shop’s advice, I got off at Lat Phrao 83 stop and walked about 10 minutes to soi 110. That’s where the directions on Google map went haywire. According to map I should be looking to turn left onto second sub soi. But there wasn’t one. After walking back and forth, I messaged shop and they sent me same map link. Lost, I figure what are my chances of finding anyone who speaks English this far out. As it turned out, everyone I asked (3 people) spoke it very well! The first was a couple outside their house. They directed me to the opposite side of street and told me to take next soi, I did but quickly arrived at intersection. Spotted two women sitting outside a convenience store. Before I could pull out my phone, one said “can I help you? In perfect English. She turned out to have worked 30 years in LA. She immediately asked me what I thought of election and I told her I was sorry Harris lost. “So am I,” replied Tammy, who then summoned two nieces who were learning English to come and demonstrate their new skills. After we chatted a few more minutes, she asked “what brings you here?” I showed her the address and she pointed down the soi. “It should be a little after my house on the right side,” she said. I thanked them and made my goodbyes. Sure enough, a garage like structure bearing the shop name soon appeared. I opened the door and the manager handed me a bottle of chilled water. I showed him the video and guy who captured my interest. “Oh, he’s here now,” he said, motioning to a one playing pool with a few others. While the boy went to collect his the massage basket, I inquired about the price and was informed there was a promotion of 1600 baht that was inclusive of tip. I was a bit apprehensive but was exhausted and had come a long way to cure my curiosity and agreed. The room was small but had AC, table and shower. The guy quickly arrived, stripped down and joined me in shower. He made sure I was carefully soaped up and I returned the favor. As we towel off, I used sign language to let him know I didn’t want any oil (he was first one so far that didn’t speak English), His technique was ok and he straddled me in the way I can resist advancing the schedule. When I rolled over, things progressed quickly but still found 10 minutes or so to massage him. He checked all the boxes of what would qualify as a full service massage in most readers’ book. He was just attentive in the post massage shower. This was a new experience that took the minimum tip process a step beyond, and I came away liking it. At no time did the guy ask more for any service. He was pleasant and accommodating throughout. For the record, he was from Isaan. As I left the shop, the manager called my attention to four boys at pool table who paused and smiled. I could have have taken any of them. As I walked back towards the station, I mused that 1600 might be a bit steep of locals but I didn’t give it much thought because I believe I received fair value. If I knew the lay of the land the total travel time would have been no more than 1:10. Cost each way 75 baht, I wouldn’t advise this undertaking if you have mobility issues. But it suited me because it reinforced my confidence in getting around the sprawling city with its excellent public transportation options. Should you decide to go, one final tip. As soon as you turn on to Lat Phrao 110, abandon phone map and turn immediately hard right and take your first left. Shop will be on your left a few minutes walk down.

  21. For the past few months it was been difficult not to find a daily news accounts of a pyramid scheme that is said to have scammed over 1,000 locals. Assets amounting to $3,8 mln USD have been seized. ———- From Bangkok Post Pyramid scheme charges filed against 18 The iCon Group suspects Warathaphon ‘Boss Paul’ Waratyaworrakul, founder and CEO of The iCon Group, is escorted by police from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) to the Criminal Court in Bangkok on Oct 18. (Photo: Nutthawat Wichieanbut) The Department of Special Investigation additionally charged 18 detained suspects of The iCon Group with pyramid scheme and direct sales law violations. DSI deputy secretary-general Wisanu Chimtrakool said that DSI officials pressed the additional charges against the 18 suspects at the Bangkok Remand Prison and the Central Women Correctional Institution in Bangkok on Monday. They were charged with violating the Law on Loan Amounting to Public Cheating and Fraud (also known as the pyramid scheme law) and the Direct Sales and Marketing Act in addition to public fraud and computer crime charges placed earlier by police. Pol Capt Wisanu said that the DSI had consulted its plan on the additional charges with representatives from the Fiscal Policy Office and the Consumer Protection Board and collected enough evidence for the latest charges. “They had work processes and different roles… The combined roles shared the same objective that was public fraud-oriented borrowing,” the deputy secretary-general said. According to its statement released on Monday, the DSI said the suspects collaborated as they had teams of executives, team leaders who invited others to invest in The iCon Group business and teams of celebrities who presented their wealth from the business. The suspects operated direct sales and marketing business in the way that people were invited to join business networks with a promise to offer returns in exchange for their subsequent recruitment of other network members. Moreover, the suspects operated a direct sales business without a licence, according to the DSI statement. Withoon Kengngan, lawyer of the detained suspects, said on Monday that the business of the group was not a pyramid scheme. A pyramid scheme would not have had genuine business activities, would have paid money collected from older network members to new members and would not have had any merchandise, he said. The suspects were ready to expose the back-office system of The iCon Group to prove their innocence, the lawyer said. He also said he prepared about 3,000 defence witnesses for authorities to question. Police arrested the 18 suspects including The iCon Group chief executive officer Warathaphon “Boss Paul” Waratyaworrakul and several celebrities last month for public fraud and putting false information into a computer system. They have been detained at the Bangkok Remand Prison and the Central Women Correctional Institution since. https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2900196/pyramid-scheme-charges-filed-against-18-the-icon-group-suspects

    10 common scams in Thailand

From Pattaya News One of the most common emails and complaints we get to our news desk is about scams or people who have been taken advantage of by a scam. We have written recently about an alleged regular scam involving miracle cures and herbal products in Pattaya that have led to hundreds of complaints and police reports and multiple raids and arrests over the past few months, including this recent situation. Now, let’s take a general look, presented by our legal sponsors at Anglo Siam Legal, of common scams in Thailand. 1. Online Dating Scams – Scammers create fake profiles on dating sites or social media, pretending to be interested in a relationship. They might ask for money for various reasons like traveling to meet you or dealing with personal emergencies. When money is given , they usually block or remove their profile. Particularly targeted in Thailand are middle-aged Thai women, often with pictures of young, handsome men pretending to be pilots, doctors, or military. 2. Phishing Emails – These scams involve emails that look like they come from legitimate sources like banks or service providers, tricking individuals into providing personal information or clicking on malicious links. Scammers pretending to be government officials or police are also common. 3. Fake Investment Scams – Scammers promise high returns on investments, often in cryptocurrencies, forex trading, or pyramid schemes. They might show fake profits to lure more investment before disappearing with the funds. Recently, the Icon Group scam dominated headlines as we discussed here. 4. E-commerce Scams – Products are advertised online at very low prices, but once payment is made, the buyer receives nothing or receives counterfeit goods. An example includes ordering expensive electronics like iPhones or Playstations and receiving rocks or fake items instead. These scams are widespread on places like user marketplaces, groups, and social media. Buyers should always insist only to pay upon delivery and after inspecting the package in person. It is advised to never pay a deposit or money upfront before getting a product from individual buyers. It is a massive red flag if the seller insists not to meet before payment or before inspecting the product in person. 5. Advance Fee Fraud – This includes scams where victims are promised rewards or services but must pay upfront fees or deposits, after which the scammer vanishes. These are often called processing or administrative fees by the scammer with promises to in return give the victim huge benefits. 6. Rental and Real Estate Scams – Listings for rentals or properties are posted with attractive prices, but upon payment of a deposit or fee, the property does not exist or is already occupied. In Pattaya, scams around renting villas that aren’t available are common, usually on social media groups. Buyers should use reputable companies for booking property and not book through random individual social media users. 7. Lottery or Prize Scams – Notifications about winning a lottery or prize that you didn’t enter, requiring payment of taxes or fees to claim the prize which never arrives. 8. Charity Fraud – Scammers exploit natural disasters or crises by setting up fake charity collections, promising to help those affected but pocketing the donations. There are many legitimate charity organizations in Thailand, giving to the organization or center directly versus through a third party is always advised. 9. Tech Support Scams – Fake tech support representatives contact individuals claiming there’s a problem with their computer, leading them to install malware or share payment details for unnecessary services. 10. Loan Scams- Offers of easy loans with no collateral or credit check often require an upfront processing fee, after which the loan never materializes.

  24. Lemming, this is a global, catastrophic defeat for the Democrats. In 2020, the Democrats won, receiving the votes of 81.2 million voters. In 2024, the Democratic Party candidate was supported by 71.2 million voters. In 4 years, the party has lost the support of 10 million voters. Once again: ten million. The Democratic Party is in crisis due to its leaders, due to the faceless and unconvincing presidential candidate Harris, due to the blindly arrogant Biden with cognitive problems, who has lost touch with reality. Voters did not believe the Democratic Party and Harris and did not come to vote for her. They did not vote for Trump - he received only 600 thousand more votes than in 2020. Voters simply did not come to support a party that does not meet their interests anymore. This is a failure: the party spent more than $1 billion to promote its candidate and still lost 10 million voters. And until the party admits the problem, it will not be able to fix it.

  34. You know, you did say the same dumb shit in 2016. And we know how that ended. Trump lost. It is natural that clowns overreach. You are overreaching. But, hey, enjoy your cruelty while it lasts. You earned it. The polls made it clear Americans oppose mass deportation. Including ones who voted for Trump, holding their nose. So when the glorious Trump trains of Freiheit und Arbeit come to round up innocent children, or their Latino parents, America will resist. Especially Latinos. Did you miss that in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020? Poor cruel thing! You really should know better. But you're cruel. So you don't.

  41. FloridaRob, be sure to drop into GOD which is across the street from Rendezvous. A lot smaller than Barcode but bigger than Rendezvous. Owned by a young Khmer guy who has a lot of cute friends that hang around there. They sometimes put on cheesy drag shows. I always enjoy Home Cocktail but I only drink the beer there. All the spirits are cheap fakes and you will get a very nasty hangover the next day. Same with all the street bars: nasty, cheap hooch. There is a reason they can sell their cocktails for only $2.50. Some food recommendations: Olive for fine French dining at a very reasonable price, Red Piano for great ribs, Elias for Greek food, Jungle Burger for, well, burgers.

  42. If you're a newbie you should be aware that Thai attitudes to nudity are, on the whole, very different to those in the west or even other Asian countries. Thai guys at saunas take their towels off only for showers and in the privacy of a cubicle, though I recall occasionally meeting some naked guys in the (very) dark rooms at Babylon. (Happy times!) I've seen falangs walk around Babylon naked but very rarely. Somehow, it looks "wrong" because I know it offends Thai cultural beliefs. Don't be misled by the apparent freedom of the Bangkok sex-show. Even the most experienced mb will probably undress in your room with a towel around his waist. Of course, it will be removed for the fun but there is usually a shyness which demands modesty until the right moment arrives.

  43. Okay guys, I’ll be in Rio tomorrow. But I can’t believe it’s raining again. I mean, I could stay indoors all day, jumping from saunas to clubs to restaurants and so on. But why is there so much rain in Rio every time I visit? Meanwhile, NYC is as dry as a kite. So, it’s not me. I hope to have a couple of sunny beach days to relax and enjoy. Fortunately, the exchange rate is excellent. Another issue was that my Brazil SIM card expired and was given to someone else. Consequently, when I attempted to send a test refill to “activate” it, it was sent to the wrong person. Did you all know about this, or was it just my naivety? By the way, I have a TIM Brazil phone. I hope the refill was given to a good cause, perhaps a garoto 🤪

Spending that much time with someone could be great....could also be a disaster. You'll be taking a gamble, remember that. Then it's not only the daily fee, it's the food, drinking, maybe entertainment/tours. If you've never met in person, I'd say try 1 day at a time, don't lock yourself in and be clear about sex, otherwise you might be paying someone to just hang out with you.... Plans like this sound good on paper but in reality turn into something else, I'm speaking from my own experience and from what others have written here over the years.

  47. Just an FYI that El Poblado hotels are probably the strictest when it comes to non-registered guests. Many will charge you a fee for the additional guest, up to the full cost of the night's stay, so this can get expensive (and they will not treat your "guest" very well, in my experience). You may want to consider an AirBNB in neighbourhoods like Provenza, Manila or Castropol which are all easy walking distance to El Poblado that will be easier to entertain "guests". Check whether or not the location has security on site -- that will also play a factor, although most security guards are happy to look the other way in my experience.

  48. Bogota (pop. 7.5 million) is very high up in the Andes and is always foggy, damp and cool. The native population is Inca. But it's also a huge modern European-type city and costs twice as much as Medellin for everything. It also has a huge gay area that Medellin does not. They vacation often in Medellin and everyone in Bogota will tell you how beautiful Medellin is and how good-looking and friendly the people are there. Medellin (pop. 2 million) is in a always-sunny valley and has flowers and vacation hotels everywhere. The people are mostly European Spanish stock with a little mix. They are extremely friendly and healthy and Medellin is a festive city. There is no clear gay area but several gay clubs and there is a small block of hustler bars downtown, and Club Tobi. a beautiful sauna, which has "no holes barred" masseurs for $18. I had excellent experiences at Tobi but later reviewers said the quality of the masseurs declined. Many latin Chaterbate rooms are really in Medellin and it's good to make contacts before going there. Although many guys are receptive they're hard to find. The ones in the hustler bars are the only ugly guys in Medellin. Cali (pop. 2.5 million) is Pacific coast but I've never been.
