Last week of the year busy or like low season?
splinter1949 and 2 others reacted to macaroni21 for a topic
Apologies in advance as I am not able to answer @abidismaili's specific question, which is about Pattaya. In any case, @bkkmfj2648 has given you a clear reply. But as I was reading the various posts before that, I saw something that I have commented upon in the past, but it bears repeating. Bangkok and Pattaya are completely different markets, and it is sometimes a source of confusion when we speak of "Thailand". Chiang Mai is different again. Phuket too. Each city's scene therefore has characteristics that reflect its market. To generalise is to mislead oneself. Pattaya is a market for Western tourists who have a tendency to come during the northern winter. It used to be that a considerable number of them stay for about 3 months, thereby boosting the appearance of large numbers (due to longer "dwell-time") when the numbers (in terms of unique persons) were probably never very large. This gave rise to the stereotype of a "high season". I will defer to @bkkmfj2648 observation about Jomtien massage shops, but my recall is that the Boyztown bars do have a higher number of boys on the stage during the northern winter. At least that was what I saw in the years past, I dont know if that is still the case. Pattaya is increasingly also a market for Indian tourists, but they have no interest in the gay scene. Bangkok's gay scene in its central areas (not its suburbs) is a market for Asian tourists, many of whom come from China and neighbouring, tropical countries. The "winter effect" does not apply. Regulars of Bangkok's bars and tourist-oriented massage parlours will tell you that 90 - 95% of the visitors are Asian, and have been so for maybe two decades. Bangkok's gay scene in its central areas have high spikes rather than a high season. They spike when the source country, e.g. China, SIngapore, Malaysia , Taiwan or Korea has a major holiday and long weekend, and these are scattered around the year. Each spike lasts no more than a weekend or a week at most. As for the numbers of boys in Bangkok's "places of interest", my observation is that they do not vary by season. A market that has short-lived spikes here and there does not create enough of seasonality. That said, there is still a significant increase of straight and family Western tourists coming to Bangkok during the northern winter, and this is reflected in hotel and arifare prices; but since they are not into the gay stuff, it has little impact on Bangkok's gay scene. Maybe the number of Westerners in bars will increase to 15% during this period form the usual 5 - 10%, not enough to affect staffing levels in the bars. Chiang Mai is essentially a local Thai market. Its rhythms reflect that. (I have seen, though, hordes of Chinese tourists in northern Thailand and Laos during the Chinese New Year holidays, with many driving in from Yunnan, too; but they're not interested in the gay scene.) Phuket is characterised by a strong surge of tourists during the northern winter. It has horrid weather during the summer monsoon, with rain every day and dangerously rough seas. Phuket is exposed to the Indian Ocean, from where the monsoon comes. Sun and sand is also a greater attraction for Westerners than for Asians, so this explains the high proportion of Western tourists in Phuket, which in turn means a northern winter peak. Now, I believe Russian tourists are the biggest group, and given the severe winter in their country, the "high season" is further reinforced. Despite this, Phuket's gay scene, by all reports, continues to wither. I would have thought that, given the homophobia in Russian society, lots of gay Russians would be eager to come, find a bit of freedom and boost Phuket's gay scene the way homophobia in the West fuelled Pattaya's emergence in the 1980s and 1990s, but apparently there is no sign of that happenning. Maybe @Moses can offer some insight into why this is not happening?3 points -

Tawan/The One report

I discovered this forum when Tawan Bar closed and I was looking for info. I have since been lurking, but having just returned from my latest BKK stay felt I should report for those with any concerns about our beloved bar. Firstly I have visited BKK twice a year, every year since 2013. I stay for 1 week and spend most nights in Tawan (as it will always be known to me) I donāt bother with any other bar as I am into big muscle only! On my first visits to Tawan 11 years ago, in the original venue across the road, there was a DJ who provided cheeky sound effects to what the guys were doing on the stage, along with quips and comment throughout the show. This made it all so much more lively and fun than what it has become. The shows themselves were far more hardcore and sexual. They could certainly revive some of these features today. Fast forward to my visit last week, 3 nights in the bar. I am happy to report it is the same beast that she has been of recent years. if not of it's former glory. On night one the boys were few and not the greatest quality, but there were 2 I would consider my type. The crowd was very small, I did have concerns for its future. The 2nd and 3rd nights the place was packed with boys, there were 3-4 that would work for me, and it was a full crowd. A much brighter picture all round! There were enough different body types to appeal to all tastes, several off season bodybuilder types for me to choose from Thankfully the guys are still as friendly and welcoming as ever, it does help that I have a muscled build (yes that is me in my avatar) and they never fail to swarm around me and give me extra attention! As much as I love the place it does have many faults, all easily fixed, and would make it a far better experience: - The new manager is too pushy, trying to get you to drink more, and insisting ion a 150B tip each round just for bringing them. Also demanding tips during parts of the show quite forcefully. On one night I watched uncomfortably as he plied a young obviously drunk customer with more drinks, trying over and over to force boys onto the customer, as well as himself. This guy needed to be sent home and instead he was getting his wallet siphoned. - The boys looking bored on stage, faces stuck in phones pre and after show, this does nothing to generate interest or enthusiasm. Phones should be banned on stage! Give the boys something to do, if they have a skill or hobby it would be great seeing them doing it on stage. Solving a Rubikās Cube, jumping rope, dribbling a ball, doing a few dumbbell curlsā¦. anything but standing there bored! (the guy next to me asked if this was the show when they were up there with faces in phones!) - Get rid of the drag from the showā¦ this is not the right venue or audience for drag, we are there to see MEN! - The shows need to be more hardcore (if allowed) Although I did have a laugh during the āBDSMā show when one was whipping the other with a thick foam tube, it made a hell of a noise, but certainly delivers no painā¦yet 2 separate guys left covering their eyes in horror, bless em And bring back the cheeky DJ with the fun commentary through the show. - Advertisingā¦ ZERO! This is crazy, particularly after the reopening! If anyone knows the management and can speak fluently PLEASE get them off their ass and do some publicity! Twitter, Insta, Facebook, Tic Tok, ad noisome are all free. Tawan Bar has a page on each, all have been neglected for years, They need to get a few posts up a few times a month. They have been open 20+ years and no one I talk to in Australia knows they exist! On top of that every local I spoke to while there thought it was still closed and were shocked led when I said Id been going every night! This bar has the potential to be so much more successful with just a few tweaksā¦ It remains my favourite bar and I hope to see it thrive into the future!2 points -
From Pattaya Mail By Barry Kenyon DTV has got off to a splendid start according to the Thai foreign minister Maris Sangiampongsa. Whilst there are no official statistics, social media bloggers suggest that between 1,500 and 2,500 have been issued in the 10 weeks since the launching. The question on the horizon is what happens to DTV holders when their initial six months are exhausted, that is assuming they want to stay in Thailand. Tod Daniels, top contributor to the popular Facebook group destinationthailandvisa, sums up the problem. āHow about we wait until December or January when the first people who got a DTV start reporting on how it will actually work and what is required?ā he wrote. There will be, of course, two choices: to quit the country and return or to seek an extension at local immigration, both offering a further 180 days. Either route has issues. As Integrity Legalās popular videos on YouTube often remind us, DTV is not actually a guaranteed entry five-year visa. The validity of the visa ā when you can use it ā is five years and itās true the visa is marked āmultipleā. Last July, the Tourist Authority of Thailandās (TAT) spokesman at the launch said that subsequent entries and extensions would not require more documentation as far as TAT was concerned, but it was open to immigration officers to request more paperwork at local offices (for extensions) or at airports and border posts (for subsequent entries to Thailand). The silence of the immigration bureau, which controls entries and extensions, has been truly deafening during the DTV post-launch period. There is little doubt that there is the potential for abuse in DTV applications. Some digital nomads, technically working for an overseas company, are believed to have Thai customers contrary to work permit legislation. Soft power has been stretched very far, as instanced by the fact that attending pop concerts or having a dental appointment could qualify for long visa status. In theory anyway. Dozens of Thai embassies worldwide are currently issuing DTVs, but the paper requirements vary. Some but not all require a bank account of at least three months standing. Others require the naming of a Thai guarantor and the evidence of the applicantās work-related activity in the past. Some embassies require the cookery classes to last up to six months, others three, whilst the documents needed for the registration of the Thai boxing academy are far from uniform. There are lots of embassy-related discrepancies detailed by members of the Facebook group. Yet the likelihood is that nothing much of significance will happen soon. The prospect of DTV holders at immigration offices, airports and border posts being quizzed by officers about fresh paperwork is a recipe for daily, chaotic delays for the queuing public. Meanwhile, the government says it is working to combine different immigration data bases which will likely take most of next year to finalize. There is also an ongoing inter-departmental working party on reducing the number of non-immigrant visas which could impact DTV. There is no doubt DTV will be reformed, and likely restricted, in the light of experience. But perhaps not in 2025. https://www.pattayamail.com/latestnews/news/what-will-the-destination-thailand-visa-look-like-in-2025-4738912 points

From VN Express Actress Chieu Xuan has journeyed through various northern mountainous areas of Vietnam, capturing stunning photographs of the region's landscapes and people. On Sept. 18, Xuan shared a series of photos showcasing iconic landmarks in the northern mountainous provinces of Lao Cai, Yen Bai, and Cao Bang in Vietnam. The actress announced her intention to sell these works to raise funds for those impacted by recent storms and floods. One of the photos, titled "Peaceful sunset in my hometown," was taken from the top of Sang Nhu village in Mu Cang Chai District, Yen Bai Province, during the water-pouring season. This is when water flows onto the terraced rice fields, creating mirror-like reflections of the surrounding sky and mountains. The photo titled āMajestic sunset on top of San Nhu.ā Xuan started exploring photography about four years ago, with guidance from several photographer friends. At first, she concentrated on capturing landscapes around Hanoi. As her skills developed, she expanded her travels across northern, central, and southern Vietnam. Her journeys typically involved taking buses to mountainous areas and then using motorbike taxis to access remote, hard-to-reach scenic locations. Foreigner Dies After Falling from Pattaya Condo
floridarob and one other reacted to bkkmfj2648 for a topic
There have been some small updates / corrections regarding this event. https://asiapacificpress.com/648/italian-tourist-66-dies-naked-falling-from-condo-in-pattaya-thailand In summary, what we know so far is: Italian citizen, The above news article has named this person as, Fausto Chiossi, from Capri, Italy, Previously, his age was reported as 57, but instead the above news article states that he was 66 years old, Condo he was renting was on the 19th floor - parking lot facing part of the building - as shown in the video in the above referenced news article. The above article states the following: '.... The man's body will undergo a post-mortem exam to find the exact cause of his death.' Consequently, I have asked one of my good Italian friends to monitor the local news in Italy to see if anything has been reported over in Italy. I have also checked Italian news sources and it appears that nothing has yet been posted about this tragic event. Perhaps the post-mortem exam has not yet been handed over to the Italian embassy in Bangkok ? Today I went to Ayutthaya with the 2 women who clean my condo, with one of their husbands, and we discussed this event at great length - I can share the following additional information - but it is NOT substantiated - and is just hearsay. The additional information is that several cleaners were requested to clean Mr Chiossi's room - as it was (unsubstantiated) reported that there was a lot of blood and disorder to clean up. On the day that solicitations went out to recruit cleaners - my 2 cleaners were not available - and after hearing what the other cleaners saw, they told me that they were glad that they were not available on that day. I can state that many of my fellow farang neighbors are quite concerned about this event. In addition, the security team has greatly increased their controls - as some of my Thai friends have not been permitted to come upstairs (for the last 18 months they have been allowed to come up on their own) and I had to come downstairs to retrieve them and one of the security team specifically asked me if I would be ok with my guests - for which I replied - all is good - they are from the beach volleyball team. Then after our meeting concluded, I went down with my 2 guests to let security know that I am alive and ok. When I know more I will post about it here.2 points -

From Pattaya Mail Factories and SMEs shutting down due to bahtās strength Recent discussions have highlighted the rising concern over the closure of factories in Thailand. One major cause being pointed out is the continued appreciation of the Thai baht, which has made Thai products significantly more expensive than those from competing nations. The Bank of Thailandās approach, which ties the baht to the U.S. dollar and its performance against the Dollar Index, has been called into question. The Dollar Index measures the value of the dollar against a basket of six currencies from major economies, including the Eurozone, the UK, Sweden, Canada, Japan, and Switzerland. While this strategy may seem logical in some contexts, critics argue that it puts Thailand at a disadvantage against its direct competitors, who are not included in the Dollar Index. The Currency Disadvantage in Key Export Industries Thailandās major export competitors include: Agriculture: China, India, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Heavy Industry (Steel): India, China, South Korea, and Taiwan. Plastics Industry: China, India, Singapore, Taiwan, and South Korea. Cement and Clinker: China, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Automobiles, Batteries, Machinery: China, Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, and Indonesia. The Bank of Thailand has strengthened the baht by around 10% compared to the U.S. dollar since last year, while competitors such as China, Vietnam, and Taiwan have devalued their currencies by roughly 10% relative to the dollar. This results in a 20% cost disadvantage for Thai exporters, making it extremely difficult for Thai products to compete globally. The Impact on Factories and SMEs As a result of this cost disparity, many large and small factories in Thailand have shut down. SMEs have already been severely impacted, and agricultural products have suffered from declining prices. The closure of major industries, including automotive and steel factories, has already started, and there is concern that this trend will spread to other key sectors. Call for a Weaker Baht to Compete In light of the situation, experts argue that the Bank of Thailand must re-evaluate its currency strategy. They suggest adjusting the exchange rate to at least 37 baht per U.S. dollar, which would still leave a 10% handicap compared to competitors. Ideally, the baht should be devalued to align fully with key competitors, reducing the cost gap by 20%. https://www.pattayamail.com/thailandnews/factories-and-smes-shutting-down-due-to-bahts-strength-making-thai-products-20-more-expensive-than-china-vietnam-and-taiwan-4740271 point

Tough question to answer - as I do not believe that the seasonality (high versus low) would impact the quality. But I am not an expert - and I would suggest that other forum members respond with their opinions. From a financial budgetary point of view I would agree. From a quality point of view - I might not necessarily agree - again I refer to the opinion of other forum members. @vinapu - help ? The PDE-5 inhibitor gives them that extra confidence to "not let us down" {pun intended} so that we will have the illusion that everything was great and the customer is happy.1 point -

After living here in Jomtien for 2 years now as a new retiree - I would say that the number of guys - high versus low - remains a constant. Many of the Jomtien Complex massage shops - other than Soda Massage - have a plastic seat capacity issue --> in other words - in their small allotted space - they can only fit "X" number of plastic chairs in front of their shops. Now it is still low season and during the night most of those plastic chairs are occupied by a masseur. So, when high season comes they still have the same number of maximum plastic chairs that they can accommodate - hence my conclusion that the number of available masseurs remains the same. However, I do note that during certain Thai Buddhist holidays there can be a significant drop off in the number of guys available - as they tend to go back to their home towns to be with their families.1 point -

vinapu reacted to bkkmfj2648 for a topic
Perhaps an advantage for the women - but then for us men where we don't need the cubicle (if the need is only to take a piss) we just use one of the gazillion urinals that are lined up next to each other. Imagine that they remove the urinals to install toilet cubicles - then I believe that there would then be a line also for men - as the now unisex bathroom that has been refitted for cubicles only would take up more space than the former urinals - thus resulting in a capacity issue for those that want to only pee - creating the potential for queuing up during peak usage periods. I remember back in the late 1980s the first time that I went to a nudist camp that only had unisex bathroom. It was an awkward situation for me when a young girl pointed me out - when I was peeing in the urinal - to her mother - when the young girl said, mommy I want to pee like that man is instead of waiting for a cubicle to free up. The mother replied by pointing to my penis saying to her daughter - sorry you cannot because you do not have that. It was an uncomfortable situation - but then again - it was my first ever participation in a nudist colony.1 point -

Ruthrieston reacted to Londoner for a topic
A difficult subject. It wasn't an issue for me when I was a newbie but it became one over the years, not because of the physical reactions of the two of us but due to my emotional responses to what was happening, both during and after the event. This maybe because I'd lived "straight" until my forty-fifth year and from then onwards, ninety percent plus of my gay sexual life was in Thailand, with mbs. I'm not a rarity in this regard; many of the falang guys I met in Pattaya in the late 90s were the same as me in in age, background and experiences. The transition from a repressed sexuality to the freedom and enjoyment of expression was wonderful. And complex. In those days, the years before I met my partner, I looked for, perhaps even needed, an element of reciprocity, even if at some level I accepted that it all was part of the game. My partner admitting to not being gay would have complicated this. I knew it was an illusion and that truth was often concealed. But it was what I required emotionally. Younger gay men may not always remember the struggles my generation went through when what we most deeply desired was declared both illegal and wicked and that disclosure would have resulted in a term in prison and ended my career. In some respects, we remain marked by this even in our joyful liberation, a liberation for which I shall always remain grateful to Thailand. And its mbs.1 point -

It's true that I off someone from a bar only about once in 4 or 5 bar visits. Even when I do, I often won't write about it. Firstly, there is not a lot I want to say about sex in the room. Secondly, it's not what my blog is intended for. You may have noticed that even when sex follows a massage, the massage visit report doesn't include any description of the gymnastics (outside editorial policy,š). Thirdly, the majority of my visits to Bangkok are work-related, which means that I don't stay in the Silom area and I have to get up at "normal" hours in the morning. Taking a bar boy at 11pm would be impractical compared to booking a 6pm or 7pm massage. Fourthly, it is 50 - 100% costlier to get a bar boy than a massage, for no assurance of better performance. Even if I am not on a work trip and therefore have the luxury of time, the years have had an impact. Whereas I could happily do a massage-plus in the day followed by off'd-boy in the night, I don't have the energy or interest to keep up with such a pace anymore. Once a day is now enough. Moreover, over the years I have acquired a short list of bar boys and massage boys whom I contact directly to come to my room. If it's a bar boy and during evening hours, I'd still have to pay the off fee, but I wouldn't have taken him from a bar (at least, not directly), which means I don't have to pay 500 baht for drinks and be pestered by mamasans. I do not write about such come-to-my-hotel appointments. Because they are "regulars" - even if not that frequent - the sessions I have with them are generally more satisfying. In this respect, I actually have 2 Tawan guys on that shortlist, compared to just one from Fresh Boy (and last I heard, he's not even working there anymore), plus a growing number from other bars and massage places. There have been trips to Bangkok where I don't visit the bars at all; between massage visits and shortlisted boys coming to my hotel, I am busy enough. All these factors considered, offing a boy from a bar is indeed becoming a rarity. Nowadays, the main value I get from visitng a bar is to find fresh new faces once in a while, and if they perform well, they get added to the shortlist.1 point -

The barrios where there are higher rates of violent crimes are ones you are highly unlikely to visit during your first trip. Skipping this city will leave a big to-do on your travel list. From Pattaya Mail Foreigners be aware of the implications By Jessataporn Bunnag (lawyer) Gay expats may be considering a plan of action if they have a longstanding Thai partner. In a blaze of publicity, marriage will be lawful in Thailand irrespective of gender or nationality from late January 2025. This positive and anti-discriminatory reform is welcome news for Thai same sex couples, though foreigners contemplating the leap do need to be aware of the issues both before and after solemnization. To get married in Thailand, a foreigner needs to swear an affidavit at his or her embassy that there is no other spouse lurking here or overseas. Embassies operate independently and each has its own procedures and documentary requirements. Some, for example, require the details of a fellow national who has known the applicant for a period of time. It is usually necessary to book the appointment online and several weeks of delay are common. There could also be a delay in booking appointments with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for all-important legalization and with the local authority Registrar, especially in the provinces. Hopefully a legal marriage will be successful, howbeit with the expected ups and downs. But what happens if it is fails? If both parties agree on settlement terms, the process can take as little as one day to be amicably terminated by the Registrar. Other scenarios are that the parties agree to separate or that one party deserts the other. If one spouse has used violence against the other, the matter could even become a criminal matter. Everything depends on the specific circumstances. The whole point about divorce, if matters come to a head, is whether the two parties agree. If they sign a joint settlement in writing, thatās fine so far as the Registrar is concerned. Of course, the areas of contention are usually disputes about bank accounts, property ownership or any spousal children and their future. Even if the matter is referred to the family court, the parties will be pressed to see if an agreement is possible. If there is no agreement or if one spouse has disappeared, or refuses to appear as a defaulter, then the family court will look to the very detailed Thai civil and commercial code for guidance. Suffice it to say here that extra-marital affairs, a separation of at least three years or desertion after one year are the most common elements. If there is no amicable settlement, the court will be inclined to tackle the issues of marital property and child custody (if relevant) on the basis of Thai laws. The above brief summary is not meant to discourage gay marriage, but simply to point out some of the major ramifications. Incidentally, two foreigners (no Thai person being involved) can also get married in Thailand and this option will also be available to same sex couples in the new year. Obviously, they would be well-advised to take legal advice just like anyone taking such a serious decision affecting their whole future. In the meantime, letās rejoice that Thailandās king has endorsed the marriage equality bill into law. The country thus becomes the first country in the region ā south east Asia ā to recognize same sex unions. https://www.pattayamail.com/latestnews/news/thai-same-sex-marriage-hurrah-but-be-aware-of-the-implications-4736711 point -
They don't seem as "hungry"
Ruthrieston reacted to reader for a topic
All three members make valid points. Some personal observations: You're more likely to experience guys more willing to pass on extra cash in the bars than in massage shops. The earnings among masseurs vary a lot. Factors include the obvious (attractiveness) and hours worked, but the most successful depend on repeat business from locals and frequent visitors. That repeat business typically comes about if the boy is multilingual and manages to establish a rapport with a client and keeps in touch on a regular basis. Customers satisfaction is the key to their income. As for how hungry individual boys are is a function of two factors: how bad to they need the money (for personal and family demands) and their attitudes to how they most desire to spend what we all know is our most precious commodity: time. Take for example the boy who easily forgoes additional pay for the opportunity to get together with his buds after work. When you're young, that can be a compelling lure. Although farangs recall their work ethic when they were young, don't expect the boys you meet to be impressed. It's a different time and a very different culture.1 point -

Sit on the bamboo logs (they are bundled together to make like a bench seat) that are perpendicular to the volleyball net at the pedestrian sidewalk. Then do like I did - yell and scream like a chearleader when they are playing - especially if it is a good volley. That will get them focused on you because they love the attention. Eventually one team will win and some of the guys will come towards the bamboo bench (where you have strategically placed yourself) and they will be thirsty. So, that is your moment to strike up a conversation. Say: Wow - great match - great game Want some beers? Wine? I offer. Where can we buy them? Then they will start talking in Thai to the other guys and 1 of 2 things will happen: 1.) One of the guys will be delegated the task of driving you over to the nearby 7-Eleven on their motorbike for the shopping expedition. Be prepared to spend 1.000 to 1.500 baht on beer, wine, snacks, and ice. 2.) If they are shy (to bring you on their motorbike) they may ask you directly for the money and one of them will go to the nearby 7-Eleven to do the shopping. Option 1 is the best in my opinion as it gets you inside their inner circle. After the shopping is done - you will be invited to drink with them. Now you will have a new group of happy crazy good fun athletic Thai guys as your new friends. How do I know all of this? I saw the above plan play out by a Russian guy. So, when the Russian guy was not there one night, I tried it and it worked. So, I am a copycat.1 point -

University students massage shop near Ramkhamhaeng University
tm_nyc reacted to macaroni21 for a topic
In years past I have made the trek to several places in Lat Phrao, a handful in Onnut, Thonburi, Nonthaburi, even one in Minburi (there used to be a shop named Hercules there, and the taxi ride took over an hour). Of all of these, there were only two visits (to a place called White Spa or something like that in Lat Phrao and to another place in Onnut, whose name I have forgotten) which I remember with fondness. All the rest were forgettable. From my experience, the score rate is no different from the shops in Saphan Khwai or downtown. Sometimes, the guy is a gem, other times a dud. In my opinion, neither distance nor looks are predicting factors. The memorable guy from Onnut was from a shop with mostly women in front. He was short and possibly in his forties (and in average shape). But maybe because few others would think of going to that shop (or picking him) for extra services, when we, in the privacy of our massage room, embarked on our whirlwind romance, he did so with a gusto like he had not cum for the last six months. But he was the exception. As mentioned above, most other excursions to the fringes of Bangkok were far from memorable. That said, it may be just me. From reading the various reports on this forum, I have learnt that there are people different from me, people who put much greater weight on how closely the boy's look compares to a certain idealised image of beauty. A lot of time and MONEY is invested in pursuit of looks, and visual delight colours their experience of the performance that is actually delivered. A performance that on an objective score may be ho-hum may be rated higher simply because the guy looks like a Greek God, a full-fledged bear, or the Epitomy of Youth. I'm not being critical; I'm just stating an observation with no value judgement. We are all different. In a way, you can say the extreme end of this spectrum would be those among us who call themselves muscle worshippers. We've had people here say, they don't even need coitus, they don't need to cum, so long as they can caress the torso, arms and legs of their dreams. People like me, without that kind of aesthetic sense, would never pay money for that! š As unlikely as me paying money to screw a woman. So, if university students in the glow of youth have value to you, then go make the trek. But if that's not in your calculus, then the distance and trouble may not be worth it. You're just as likely to get satisfaction from places that are easier to access.1 point -
Homecoming - Santo Domingo Trip Report - Day 1 (Part 1)
Kenches80 reacted to Arabcreamer for a topic
So itās been a little over a week since I got back from Santo Domingo and hot damn it was a wild ride figuratively and literally. I was in the capital for around 5 days. I would guesstimate that I got maybe a total of 12 hours of sleep the whole trip and was taking dick almost 70% of the time I was there. The experience this trip was completely different from the other times, and in the best way possible. At the end of the trip I was completely drained, and couldnāt walk straight for a good three days. Totally worth it. Incase you wanted more information about me and how I had things planned before the trip you can refer to my earlier post. https://www.gayguides.com/forums/topic/43395-returning-to-santo-domingo-back-from-my-3-year-hiatus/ So the way Iām going to divide my reports will be as follows. Report one, arrival and First day (Wed) divided into two parts. I recall the first day in its entirety, it was one guy for a full 24 hours so I have tons of details to share. Report two (Thursday and Friday) Report three, the wildest of the days (Saturday) Report four, last day and departure (Sunday and Monday early morning) So keep your eyes out for those, and if yāall have any questions iāll be more than happy to answer them. All right letās get into it š. Homecoming and the Fisherman So my original travel itinerary to Santo Domingo was a 3am arrival to Santo Domingo from Newark on the 7th of March and departing the 11th at 5am. After doing a final confirmation with the fisherman, seeing that there was no surcharge to change my ticket to arrive a day early, my Airbnb had a small apartment available at a deal. I said, fuck it, Iām going a day early and spend a āromanticā day with the Fisherman and get all my ducks in a row for the upcoming days. To everyone else I arrived on Thursday, but for the fisherman I would arrive Wednesday and we would spend the whole day and night to ourselves. Some background on the Fisherman (btw this story is a bit of a rollercoaster). We met through Manny during my previous visit to the DR. Manny brought him to the airport and he came to spend three days with me in the north of country. Mid 30s, Dominican Haitian, tatted, huge dick, high sex drive, rough around the edges and the one of the most down to earth guys Iāve met. Over the three days our connection surpassed the transactional and we became actual friends. We have similar interests, values, work ethic and was open to any experience I wanted to share with him and was open to whatever he wanted to share with me. The chemistry electric, and sex absolute fire. Sadly after that trip we lost contact, and what made it even worse was that no one had his contact. When I was planning this trip no one knew where he was, people guessed he was back in his village working. And others said he just plainly disappeared. To be honest I gave up hope finding him and settled with another guy to stay with me the whole trip. And then by chance, a month before arriving, I message a faceless profile on grinder with the title āBi Activo 25cmā. I send a slew of my pics saying that I was going to be in Santo Domingo incase he wanted to hook up. The next day I response and it was HIM! He sent me numerous of voice messages about how he couldnāt believe we found eachother and that we were going to be reunited once again. He gives me his WhatsApp and we start talking on the phone every day, counting the days till I arrive. Three weeks before the trip and around a week of talking, catching up, reminiscing and planning. He tells me on Friday that he was feeling extremely sick. Concerned I told him to go see a doctor or a nurse and he said he would. The last time he would be online after that would be 3:27am on Saturday. Radio silence, calls not going through, messages not delivered. Initially I thought it was maybe his service was out on his phone. After a few days I sent a recharge to his number and still nothing. Then I started getting extremely concerned. Knowing that he was back in the capital and sometimes went to Marlowes I contact a Haitian buddy of mine to try to investigate. I send him his number, pictures of him, and last known whereabouts. My friend then recruits the bouncer from Marlowes to keep an eye if he saw him at the club or on the street. A week passes, no word, another week passes no luck. Honestly I was thinking the worst scenario might have happened. Then one week before I arrive the bouncer spotted him on the street. Gave him number and he contacted me on his friends phone. The Saturday we lost contact he was walking up the stairs to his apt and collapsed. The neighbor found him and rushed him to the hospital. His phone slipped through the side crack and fell two stories rendering it useless. He spent two days in the hospital with a serious case of the flu. And had no way to contact me, his family or loved ones. He took the phone to a repair shop and they wanted to charge 5000 Dominican pesos (85US) to fix it. I told him that they can go fuck themselves with that price and that I would bring him an older iPhone I had that was unlocked and that I wasnāt using. And through on and off communication through his friendās phone we planned to meet the morning I arrived. Tuesday afternoon I fly out from Texas and arrive at Newark in the evening. I run to Duty Free, purchase two 1liter bottles of Hennessy (a fan favorite in the DR lol) and hit the lounge and shower before boarding my red eye to Santo Domingo. At Newark I call the fisherman on his friends phone and he says he made sure to sleep most of the day and was waiting for me to arrive. āYa casi, y vas estar mioā (almost here, and then you are gonna be mine) me and my hole couldnāt wait. I arrive at SDQ around 3:00am, breeze through customs and catch an Uber to our intimate Airbnb in the Zona Colonial for the first night. Stepping outside, it had just rained and the temperature was in low 70s, the weather couldnāt have been better. I call him and tell him that Iām going to shower first (aka clean out) and then he could meet me at the apt. I pour myself a drink, clean out, unpack my lubes and poppers, dispense some lube in my hole and I call him. Heās tells me in Zona Colonial but his friends phone only works via wifi, scared of getting lost and not being able to communicate he tells me to meet him Pacoās. I immediately order an uber and head over there. When step out of the car at Pacoās there he was. He turned and looked at me and gave the biggest smile. He then comes and hugs me, a tight full body hug which I return in kind. After a lingering few second he tells me he couldnāt believe I was here. He truly thought we would meet again. We both look at each other and knew what was coming next. I called another Uber and we went directly to the Airbnb. The second after we closed the door, he pressed me against and started kissing me. Deep, passionate, my hands feeling all over his body and his hands cupping and caressing my head. And we start take each others clothes off and I feel his massive dick Rock hard through his basketball shorts. After what felt like ages kissing and feeling he leads me to the couch. Slides off his shorts and sits with throbbing dick in hand. āMamelo babyā he says, and I immediately get on my knees and begin to suck him off. Running my tounge and spitting on his dick to get it wet, and then I start with suck. My lips wrapped around his dick while leaving a thin space of air to wet his dick more and create suction. He leans and cocks his head back and moans, saying he missed the way I sucked his dick. I start to use my hands and suck on his head, then I push his dick all the way back to my throat and start to squeeze his head and he starts going wild. And then after almost thirty minutes of giving him head he pull my head and tells me ādame ese culoā (give me that ass). Which I more than happily obliged. I then get on all fours on the edge of this flimsy couch. And he starts to eat me out, spitting, tonguing, and growling āque Ricoā into my hole. He then springs up and I feel the head of his dick pressing against my hole. I told him ādespacioā (slowly), I wasnāt going to use poppers and he obliged. He slowly slipped pushed in while my hole was gripping on his pulsating guevo. And when he finally gets all the way in I let out a high pitch moan/gasp, he was pressing against my second hole. And then he started to stroke. Chest pressed against the wall and ass on the edge of this flimsy couch. I feel him picking up the pace while heās slowly pulling my insides with his huge dick. He then asks me if I missed him, while digging me out. And I moan āsi papa, siā repeatedly. His pace got faster while saying āsi? Si? Did you miss me?ā The deeper he got I started to push my hole out. Getting his dick super wet, and once he felt that he belted āCoƱoā and grabbed my shoulders. With pulling my shoulders. The balancing act was over. The couch/bench flipped over from the weight and pulling and we were both on the floor. On the floor astonished, we looked at eachother and started laughing. He scooches over and starts kissing me and I grab his dick, slick with lube and cream. I then splay my ass in the air and pressed my chest to the floor. He let out another growl and stood up, bent his knees a bit and started fucking from above. I started moaning loudly the deeper he got. He was hitting all the walls in my hole. Then suddenly I felt his dick get even bigger and he started moaning. āQuieres mi leche?, quieres mi leche?ā He kept repeating. And when I said yes I felt his nut filling my hole, I let out an āoh my Godā when feeling a jolt of fire unload in my hole. I cock my head back and see his eyes rolled to the back of his head while moaning. With his dick still twitching and loading my hole he collapses on top of me and Kisses my neck and back telling me how much he misses me. It was almost 6am and that was the first nut. So I think Iām gonna stop part one here. I unloaded a lot of details and didnāt want to overwhelm in one post. In part 2 Iāll share more details about our experience, how we spent our day, how I planned for the rest of the trip. And a lot of details about the mind blowing sex (we even utilized a terrace and jacuzzi). Hope yāall enjoyed and stay tuned for part 2. P.S. Iāll post fishermanās dick below.1 point -

New hustler bar in Santo Domingo, DR ā Marloweās
Kenches80 reacted to SolaceSoul for a topic
Iām just paying it forward. An expat in the DR from the USA recently opened up a very nice gay hustler bar in Colonial Zone, Santo Domingo. Itās named after him and itās called Marloweās. He owns it and works there along with his regular staff of Dominicanos. His goal is to make it a higher-end version of the old Bar Friends hustler bar. He even has space in the back for clients to play with the ābugarronesā. Itās actually a nice set up, a very modern bar, and hopefully, it will survive the pandemic and more crowds (clients AND hustlers) will start frequenting. It has a ways to go to be the frequented hustler bar with the variety of bugarrones and sankies that would show up to the old Bar Friends and Jay Deeās. But itās a start, and with regular patrons and a regular flow of visitors, it should get there. Dame Maggie Smith dies aged 89

From BBC Actress Dame Maggie Smith, known for the Harry Potter films and Downton Abbey, has died at the age of 89, her family has said. A legend of British stage and screen, she won two Oscars during her career - for The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie in 1970 and California Suite in 1979. She had four other nominations, and received eight Bafta awards. Leading the tributes, Prime Minister Keir Starmer said Dame Maggie "was beloved by so many for her great talent, becoming a true national treasure whose work will be cherished for generations to come". In the Harry Potter films, Dame Maggie played the acerbic Professor Minerva McGonagall, famous for her pointed witch's hat and stern manner with the young wizards at Hogwarts. In hit ITV drama Downton Abbey, she played Violet Crawley, the Dowager Countess of Grantham, the grand matriarch who excelled at withering one-liners through the show's six series.
