that's harsh and insensitive. Those 'idiots ' are aplenty, they mop your floors , sort your garbage, flip your burgers and mow lawn in your park. Not everybody has parents pushing them through school, quite opposite, pushing them out as soon as they finish basic schooling. Often , instead of taking courses they spent time tending to disabled family members and litany may go on and on. Even if lazy, chances are, they are happier with their lives than people retiring with 5 times as much and constantly losing their sleep because movement of currency or stock prices. With such attitudes , no wonder that they vote for snake oil peddles like Trump and stick to them. Comments like that enforce my long held believe that communism will return and I'm glad I'm too old to see it's resurrection as it won't be pretty.6 points

When I was single, I found the afternoons in Pattaya difficult to fill. Jomtien beach was fine for a couple of hours but no longer than that for me, and the go go didn't start until 2100. There were only two gay massage places, both far away from Boyztown but with only a handful of masseurs available; and no apps in those far-off days, obviously. Even TV was limited, very limited in the sort of hotels I could afford. No mobiles. Nor laptops. Royal Garden was newly-open (two floors of it) and there was some cruising there but I was much too shy; I needed gogo bars. I suppose I was lonely. The only people I knew in Pattaya were "short-time" friends. And of course, that particular tribe only comes out to play after dusk. This was the time I stopped being lonely. So , all I can say now to younger guys is "count your blessings". The internet, the numerous a/c-ed malls. Even TV. Hotels that are probably more comfortable than they were thirty years ago in my price range. Massage guys and willing visitors to hotel rooms are available twenty-four hours a day. No time to be lonely!5 points

US Social Security monthly payments vary widely &, yes, I think that the average is $1,800-$1,900 per month. What determines a person's payment depends on how much one earns & for how long. After breakfast, i asked counter if i can checkout a bit late as my flight to phuket is at 4.30pm and they told me i can check out at 1 pm. Had a bit of rest after packing and head to DMK after checking out. My companion will be joining me at DMK, taking a flight earlier from Indonesia. When he arrived, he message me and I told him i will arrive at the airport soon. Thanks to free wifi at the airport, its not hard for me to find him. We then go for lunch together at the airport food court upstair, then check in for our flight. I will be very brief on my report for phuket since we mostly do touristy stuff. My guy is a regular guy ive met many times before back home. He will come 1-2 weeks at a time and ive always had him for overnight. This trip will be our 4th trip together. First two trip was in indonesia, and one trip was within Malaysia. He has a PT gigs back home so it will take some arrangement on his side before he could join me. Our Phuket trip will be 4 nights, and we stay at Bang Tao area, which is surprisingly very pleasant area. Our hotel is in the laguna area, and have free shuttle to the mall and beach. First day - Not much activity, stocked up in 7/11 and just spend the night at the hotel, sort of reunion. We talked a bit on what to do tomorrow and he also went to check out the gym. 2nd day - before breakfast, i went to the concierge to see what trips/sightseeing they have. Decided to take their half day city tour that start in the afternoon and ends with visit to the Sunday night market in the Old town phuket. Visited the Wat Chalong, Big Buddha, Khao Rang Hill View Point, Jui Tui Shrine and lastly the Old town phuket for the Sunday market. Overall, its a good introductory half day trip covering most of the tourist spots and no unwanted visit to farm, tiger/elephant place, nor visit to specialty shops. U can get a great view of the island on top of Big Buddha, but our most memorable place was at Khao Rang hill, where there was a troop of monkeys claim residency there. Towards the end of our visit, one of the monkey were trying to grab the skirt of one of the girl in our group. Luckily, she didnt panic and the monkey did let go. There is also a Harry Potter themed Cafe near the sunday market. For dinner, we just order grab for dinner. 3rd day - had our breakfast and get ready for our island tour today. As per recommended by the tour lady, we took the bigger catamaran boat, and our tour will be focusing on phi phi island and surrounding, with lunch buffet there. First stop is Bamboo island where we had time to swim on a very pristine beach. It wasnt too crowded too, so it was very pleasant to swim especially with my hunk on my side. After lunch at phi phi island, we head to the Pileh Lagoon for long tail boat tour around the towering limestone cliffs, and stop by the side for snorkeling, paddle boat or canoeing. Afterward, we head to the famous Maya Bay. Definitely one of the most beautiful beach, but overcrowded with tourists. No swimming allowed, and all boats now stays on the otherside of the bays. On our way back, we stopped at Maiton island, nearer to main phuket island for sunset and bbq dinner. Overall, the tour is definitely the highlight of my phuket trip.2 points

From LA Times By Stephanie Yang BANGKOK, Thailand — In 2019, business was booming for Owen Zhu. He was one year into his new career in real estate, showing Bangkok properties to Chinese investors. Then the pandemic halted travel and spending. Even now, Chinese buyers are slow to return. The exception has been one group that has since become Zhu’s specialty: LGBTQ+ clients looking to build a new life for themselves outside China. “Most of them are buying to live in or to retire in — not like many straight people or friends, who are prioritizing investments,” Zhu, 40, said. Before the pandemic, Zhu estimates, about one-fourth of his clients were LGBTQ+. Now they make up two-thirds of his customer base. As China has clamped down on queer representation and advocacy, Bangkok, long the “gay capital” of Asia, has offered visitors a reprieve from the conservative culture back home. Here, the thriving nightlife of gay bars and clubs draws many potential buyers to look for apartments near the city center, Zhu said. Zhu, who is also gay and from China, bought an apartment in Bangkok in 2017 for his eventual retirement. As friends started asking his advice on how to make their own purchases, he quit his job in Chinese media to help them find properties full time. As his clientele has changed, so has Zhu’s marketing on Chinese social media. In between property listings, he now shares updates on efforts to legalize same-sex marriage and surrogacy in Thailand. With demand growing, Zhu said he hopes to start a housing complex catering to gay Chinese in the next few years. From Khaosod English PATTAYA — A foreign man jumped from the 6th floor of a condominium in Soi Chaiyapruek 3, Moo 12, Nongprue Subdistrict, Banglamung District, Chonburi Province, despite police officers’ attempts to persuade him for over 3 hours. The incident occurred before noon on August 16 at Building B of an 8-story condominium. The 40-year-old Caucasian man appeared agitated, pacing back and forth on the balcony of his room. The Land Disaster Prevention Unit had to place a giant air cushion on the ground to prevent an unforeseen accident. Although the man seemed to calm down at one point, he suddenly became frantic again. When the officers were momentarily distracted, he climbed over the iron railing of the balcony and jumped, hitting the air cushion before falling into the swimming pool. The rescue team quickly helped him out, finding injuries to his neck, a split lip, broken teeth, and abrasions all over his body. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/2024/08/16/foreign-man-luckily-survives-after-jumping-from-pattaya-condo/1 point

From Khaosod English Business Leaders Expect Policy Continuity Under New PM The Thai stock market closed on Friday at 1,330 points, up 13.16 points or 1.2%, after the process of selecting a new Prime Minister in parliament proceeded smoothly. As the only nominee, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, leader of the Pheu Thai Party, received 319 votes in favor, with 145 against and 27 abstentions. Among the votes in favor, there were 6 additional votes from members of the opposition Thai Sang Thai Party and 2 more votes from smaller parties. According to Thai media, Prime Minister elect Paetongtarn will likely be formally appointed by HM the King in a ceremony in front of the King’s portrait at Pheu Thai headquarters, Voice Space, around 8.30 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2024. The process of selecting a new Prime Minister to quickly lead to the formation of a cabinet comes after a situation that shook Thai politics. On Wednesday, August 14, Srettha Thavisin was removed from his position by a Constitutional Court decision. This helped restore confidence in the business sector, which had been disheartened for two days. There is now increased belief that the new government, coming from the same coalition parties, will be able to continue working immediately. From Khaosod English Prawit’s Political Journey Under Scrutiny After Striking Thai PBS Reporter The highlight of the political events on Friday, August 16, should have been solely about Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, age 37, receiving an overwhelming 319 votes of approval from the MPs to become the 31st Prime Minister. However, the spotlight also turned to Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan, aka “Big Pom,” leader of the Palang Pracharath Party. It wasn’t because he was one of the two people, along with Chalerm Yubamrung, an old politician with internal issues with the Pheu Thai Party, who didn’t participate in the vote. Rather, it was because he displayed what appeared to be an angry reaction and used his hand to hit the head of a Thai PBS television reporter twice and loudly said, “What are you asking!” when asked, “How have you been following the Prime Minister election voting?” As he was limping to get into his car, he lowered the window and asked the reporter what they wanted to ask. The reporter inquired about his view on Ms. Paetongtarn being elected as the Prime Minister. He responded, ‘Oh! I don’t know what you’re asking about,’ before the car drove away. Yes, by “I live here” I meant in Rio, not in the hot tub, Point 202 or any other sauna. Though I suppose it would be possible to attend the sauna so much that it could practically become your residence, I’m not aware of any client who has actually pulled that particular trigger yet. (A few working garotos have stayed temporarily in rooms at the saunas before. I think that would require a special arrangement with the manager or owner.)1 point

What Happens in Thailand if a Foreign National Dies Without a Will?
splinter1949 reacted to reader for a topic
The following has been discussed in other posts by Isaan Lawyers. I now leave it to our in-house legal experts to pass judgement. From Pattaya News When a foreign national dies in Thailand without a will, the process of handling their estate can be complex. Here’s a detailed look at what happens presented by our sponsors and friends at Issan Lawyers. Application of Thai Law Thai inheritance law applies to the estate of any person who dies in Thailand, including foreign nationals. This means that if a foreigner dies intestate (without a will), their estate will be distributed according to Thai statutory inheritance laws. Distribution of the Estate The estate of the deceased will be distributed among the statutory heirs as defined by Thai law. These heirs are categorized into six classes, similar to those for Thai nationals: 1. **Descendants**: Children and grandchildren. 2. **Parents**: The deceased’s mother and father. 3. **Brothers and Sisters of Full Blood**: Siblings who share both parents with the deceased. 4. **Brothers and Sisters of Half Blood**: Siblings who share only one parent with the deceased. 5. **Grandparents**: Both paternal and maternal grandparents. 6. **Uncles and Aunts**: The siblings of the deceased’s parents. Probate Process The probate process involves the court appointing an estate administrator to manage and distribute the estate. This process is necessary to ensure that the estate is handled according to the law and that all heirs receive their rightful share. Foreign Property and Assets Foreign nationals may have assets both in Thailand and in their home country. Thai courts generally handle the distribution of assets located within Thailand. For assets located outside Thailand, the laws of the respective country will apply. It’s important to note that a will made in the foreign national’s home country may not cover property in Thailand, leading to potential complications. Special Considerations for Foreigners – Inheritance of Land: Foreigners can inherit land in Thailand, but they must receive approval from the Minister of Interior. The share of land that a foreigner can inherit is subject to certain limitations. – Foreign Wills: Foreign wills can be recognized in Thailand, but they must meet specific legal requirements. It is advisable for foreign nationals to create a will in Thailand to ensure their assets are distributed according to their wishes. Conclusion Dying without a will in Thailand can lead to a complex legal process, especially for foreign nationals. The estate is distributed among statutory heirs according to Thai law, and the court may need to appoint an administrator to manage the estate. To avoid potential complications and ensure that your wishes are honored, it is advisable for foreign nationals to create a will that complies with Thai law.1 point -
Hi, long time Rio resident / expat here. This whole back and forth about whether or not there is higher pricing for gringos / tourists is never going to be solved. The answer is: “it all depends”. (1) It depends on who the garoto is. Some garotos price themselves higher than some others — usually because they look like male supermodels or are built like professional athletes, or are hung like a Shire horse — and the market has already taught them what price point they can command. (2) It depends on who the client is. Often, like with many other kinds of services, regular clients get reduced rates. A client that may not be seen ever again, or at the most only once or twice a year, or who may not see him regularly but also doesn’t provide him fringe benefits like gifts and Western Union, probably should not expect this kind of discount for a programa. Also, like it or not, looks / attraction as well as age, charm and personality, do matter to quite a few of the garotos — whether “straight”-identifying or not. The extremely rare superstar client that resembles something like George Clooney, Henry Cavill, Ricky Martin or Idris Elba would get this “discount.” But the overwhelming majority of us clients not blessed with such physical gifts aren’t in this category, and have to flirt with our wallets instead. (3) It depends on what the client wants out of the programa. Asking a garoto to do more performative or more “difficult” or unusual sex work in a short programa — especially for a visiting, rare client — is more likely to increase the cost. Remember, these are human beings, not machines. Yes, there are some garotos who want take advantage, act like scoundrels and charge foreigners more just because they’re gringos and might be naive or unaware of the current market. There are also some who will charge the same, no matter who the client is or what is done during the act. But the price is also to be negotiated and agreed upon in advance, each garoto charges his own price, and he is not obliged to charge the same price as the others, nor is he obligated to charge each client the same. The guys all are independent contractors, not employees of the saunas. The client goes into this knowingly and willingly. It seems like the problem arises when clients take these pricing differences personally. Hey, I’ve also seen the reverse occur: garotos getting upset when they somehow find out that a client paid another garoto more than him! So, it all evens out, I suppose… Gringos / tourists paying more has always been part of “the game.” It’s not like how it is with gentrifying-areas real estate prices; it’s more like tourist-area restaurants or gift shop two-tier pricing. It doesn’t seriously affect local pricing, and locals already know about the two-tier system. Gringos also try to “game” the system themselves by getting local pricing on what basically amounts to only a few dollars, euros or pounds difference between the two. Hope this helps.1 point

Certainly agree with your conclusions. Although the boys can't control how many westerners decide to visit their bar, they can improve their odds of being offed. One, the easiest and most important is obviously smile.--and keep smiling. If they don't get that down, they've halved their chances from the start. Two, acquire as much English as they can because it's the most common denominator to induce conversation and sustain the customer's interest. Three, be open to suggestions such as, "would you like to get something to eat?" Getting to know the customer in a social setting is a great ice breaker that will very likely extend to how things go in the room. Four, look for opportunities to show affection. Simple touching--accompanied by a smile--will not be lost on customer's overall satisfaction. Five, don't rush. Don't be too eager to return to the bar. Even if you don't want LT, be leisurely in your departure. Assure the customer you look forward to seeing him again. Granted, none of the above will initially bring more westerners into the bar but it will encourage those who do to return. And few things are more advantages to the boys than repeat business. Perhaps some entrepreneurial veteran of the bars will see an opportunity to become a bar boy coach, sharing what he has learned in his days on the stage with the newbies.1 point -

I escaped the debilitating heat of Phnom Penh yesterday and am now back in Bangkok. I went to Fresh Boys for a quick look. My friend - the groper- came outside and we had a bit of fun. He was wearing their special brief underwear - it's lycra, I think - and you can clearly see the outline of some of the guys' cocks when they are on stage. One guy sitting outside was on his phone playing with himself while the show was underway inside, and I thought he had a hard -on. But he's just big, as I witnessed when he appeared on stage. It was the same. Fresh boys was overflowing with customers; they just kept streaming in but somehow they managed to squeeze them in. As usual, most of the customers were Chinese. As I was sitting outside I saw 3 Chinese guys leaving with one boy. Someone is in for a rough time! Mr groper had to leave early last night - his mum came to pick him up to travel to Cambodia to renew his passport - so I left and went to Goodboys. Again, the bar was overflowing. I endured the show, which consisted of a little cock but mostly just fat, ugly overdressed ladyboys pretending to be superstars. I hate it! I was planning to off the super-sucker from the other night but he wasn't there, so I offed the second guy I had on my last night before going to Phnom Penh - the ever so slightly fem guy. We got down to business. I started suckling him but while I was busy he was looking at his phone! I took it from him and put it on the side table. Suddenly he must have become horny because he said he wanted to fuck me. I told him he was too big but he assured me he'd take it slowly. It was quite painful at first but I decided to persevere. Once he got it all in, it was fine. In fact, it was great! He layed down on his back for the finale - I chuck wowed him - and then he finished me off. The only problem was, while he was jacking me off, he was looking at his facebook page! It kind of killed the atmosphere. I got up and quickly rinsed the cum off my body in the shower. By the time I got out of the shower - less than a minute - he was already dressed and ready to leave! I will go back to Goodboys tonight and look for the first guy. I need to experience that blow-job technique again!1 point -

Having just returned from my trip to Barcelona last week I am happy to report that Thermas was not a disappointment, and I can certainly recommend a look. My first visit was on a Thursday afternoon at about 2.30 pm. There weren't many clients there at that time. Upon arrival in the mid afternoon I was approached and received a very warm welcome from 3 or 4 working guys, who were all very eager to please. These were a handsome young Venezuelan named Oliver and his horse hung cousin, who were very free with their conversation and seemed really nice guys. There was also an especially charming Nigerian named Christian with a great body and cock, who spoke perfect English. There was then a steady flow of fresh talent who arrived throughout the later afternoon, all of whom were handsome, hung and personable. In the end I chose to spend some private time with a gorgeous South American guy named Enrique, who certainly knew how to top. I visited again at 3pm on the following Sunday, but the premises were temporarily closed to the public for the clean up after a private party from Saturday, which had rolled on into Sunday, and I chose not to return later that day. I again attended at about 3pm on Monday afternoon, and there were fewer guys, but still a good choice. I had a great session with Christian the Nigerian. Most of the working guys at Thermas were handsome South Americans, both Latinos and a few black guys, one was called Tony with blonde died hair (tasty too), and they were all very chatty and personable. They all had their ample goods on full perky display. If you like guys in their thirties look out for Juan. There was also a Bulgarian, but not many Europeans. The going rate is €50. Entry fee €22. The premises were very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. A final word about the other Saunas, Bruc and Condal. I visited both of these but only saw older guys there, so neither place appealed to my tastes.1 point
