Time to return

It’s now Thursday night and we convene on soi 4. Arrive in time to see Bananas manageres change the base drink price at Banana to 380 THB. Directly across the soi at G’s German Restaurant, Coco and I each choose the pork knuckle special which is a mini-mountain of food. Mostly meat. Good beers, conversation is light and I pick up some of the CoCo background information that I posted early in a reply to vinapu. We joust with Banana’s grabber and catch up on how his son is doing and growing. G’s owner has headed off to Pattaya I so didn’t get more time with him to take in his opinions. Skipping the strudel, we head to the jazz club for an hour of piano and singer melding into classics (e.g“Stardust” ). While at Groovin’ High, the jazz bar, we discussed where to go next. Three clubs still on my list to checkout: Stranger Bar, FreshBoys, & Hot Male. The Stranger Bar has moved from its narrow show case next to (?) Adam Massage to a much bigger appearing from the outside to the left of Jupiter. Decided to start at FreshBoys and depart in time to see Hot Male’s 2nd show. It’s been more than a year since I was at FreshBoys, I have many happy memories and a string of offs from the club’s locations and incarnations on both sides of Surawong. Minh is in his usual spot near to the stairs. I learn that the reason there ares shirtless boys at the top of the steps is both marketing and a cast holding area for the 40 boys in rotation. Inside it’s the same room, same layout, strong sound level, stage filled with boys in alphanumeric rotation 1 to 40 in order, unless someone has been called over for a drink or more. Mamasan sees me and orders boys off the sofa area immediately inside the entrance. We effusively greet one another and she does the same with CoCo. Once seated, I scan the rotation, by the end of a round I realize that over the past four or five years I’ve offed four of the boys and two of the waiters! The vibe in FreshBoys has an energy I haven’t encountered until now. The main seating area appears to be full of both paying customers and boys who are being treated to boy drinks. Seated where we are I see a constant coming and going of drink waiters. Number 40 in rotation is smiling broadly as he moves past. Since he’s handsome borderline cute with a big smile I indicate interest and mamasan has him on the sofa next to me. He’s from VietNam! Drink offered, drink accepted. His name is Nam (I’ll probably be able to remember it). Mamasan is very involved in how the show runs, interacts with the boys and is constantly chatting up the customers (of which there will be a steady flow in the next two hours. Once the rotation ends and the first of the 2 divas comes on stage, many of my ex offs stop by, I’m having a good time, Nam leaves to be in different acts, returns after each, he is first a dancer with a flower lei, then in the two guys and a diva number with each molesting and committing rapine, as clothes are shed. He will also be an a two guys in a shower scene but that will be later, and he’s one of the 9 in the big cock hit the pole festival. Yes, it reads as the same, rotation, diva, act with some sex, rotation, act with naked sex, diva, rotation, shower scene with more but soapy sex, ring the pole, pole ringers circulate for a top to touch their tips, diva and end the show with a rotation for the midnight show. During all this Nam returns to cuddle and unleash his smile. Hands encouraged to wander. I’m capitvated by the room’s vibrant vibe. I think that someone in Management took a pause, looked at what was on hand, and thought about making it flow and come alive. The mamasan is part of that as she is constantly on the move, encouraging the audience to chheer the boys when needed, to leading sing alongside with the grander diva numbers. There is still a crowd when lights come up to signal the end of the first show. Drinks have been mixed and served during the two hours we’ve been there. There might be money being made here. Maybe six boys leaving with customers. CoCo and I say our good byes…shirtless honor guard to the door and outside. Head to Hot Male since it’s right next door. I walk past the entrance - it was too well lit! Inside there are one mamasan and two managers and 20 boys in red trunks and maybe Hot Male logo T-shirt. Notice I have not mentioned the audience numbers. There were none! Guys are good looking, etc. Note: to vinapu, #10 the blonde god we both noticed and exchanged comments about was there! Even knowing I wasn’t going to be caught being the only customers , #IO called him over as he had spotted me when I spotted him (maybe before). A glorious piece of god’s craftsmanship!. I explained I couldn’t stay and gave him a remembrance vinapu tuck. Coco and I leave as the boys begins to perform the show (Indian temple dancers, remember?) One customer has arrived. We go back for a remedial stamp session as I process the last few hours.8 points -

I will go to The Philippines around Christmas time for 1 month as part of my 4-4-4 plan to minimize my time in Thailand to be under 180 days each year. I will use this one month to explore different places where I would want to live for 4 months each year - where I would live for 4 months in Thailand, 4 months in Vietnam, and perhaps 4 months in The Philippines. I have already ruled out Manila - Makati - for the same reasons that I do not live in Bangkok - too big, too polluted, too noisy, not on the sea, etcetra. So, I am thinking to start in Cebu City and then explore other Philippine cities that are on the sea. Anyone have any good experiences outside of Manila / Makati - that they believe that they could live in ? A city on the sea like Da Nang is in Vietnam would be PERFECT for me, as Da Nang offers: a big enough population, on a sea that is clean and beautiful, enough local guys to play with, a small gay life with a couple of gay bars and gay massage places, access to the nature (mountains, hiking, motorbike riding, etcetra), easy access to other nearby interesting places (Hoi An, Hue, Ba Na hills), international airport.3 points -

Biden endorses Harris
Ruthrieston and one other reacted to reader for a topic
From CNN President Joe Biden has thrown his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris to become the next Democratic nominee for president after announcing Sunday he is dropping out of the race. Should Harris officially become the party’s standard-bearer, she would be the first Black woman and first Asian American to lead the ticket of a major political party. The historic endorsement comes after weeks of disarray within the Democratic Party, following a disastrous debate performance by Biden that called into question his ability to win a second term and govern for another four years. Biden ended his campaign Sunday amid growing calls from members of his party to step aside. Logistically, Harris is the natural heir to the ticket as Biden’s running mate. She would inherit the Biden campaign’s massive political operation and war chest. Recent polling has also shown her performing better against former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, than Biden and other potential Democratic contenders.2 points -

From Pattaya News THE FBI has seized $2.5 million in cryptocurrency linked to a pig-butchering scam based in Thailand, The Pattaya News can reveal. This development marks a substantial effort by U.S. authorities to combat the rising tide of crypto-related crimes. The U.S. Attorney’s Office has initiated a civil forfeiture process to reclaim the seized cryptocurrency. According to recent reports, the FBI tracked down a scammer operating from Thailand who had control over two cryptocurrency accounts holding Tether (USDT). The investigation led to the seizure of these assets with assistance from Thai police authorities. Following the successful operation, a U.S. Attorney from the District of Columbia announced the steps being taken to reclaim the seized assets. The scam, known as “pig butchering,” was specifically targeting American citizens. Under U.S. law, civil forfeiture allows the government to seize assets obtained through criminal activities, even if the perpetrators are based overseas. ‘Pig butchering’ is a term borrowed from the traditional method of fattening pigs before slaughter. In the context of cryptocurrency, it describes a scam where perpetrators spend weeks or even months building a relationship with their victims to gain their trust and encourage them to make significant investments. The scam typically begins with the initial contact, where scammers reach out to potential victims via social media platforms, dating apps, or messaging services. They present themselves as friendly and trustworthy individuals, often posing as successful investors or professionals. Over time, the scammer nurtures a seemingly genuine relationship with the victim, sharing personal stories, engaging in frequent communication, and establishing a sense of intimacy and trust. With trust firmly established, the scammer introduces the idea of investing in cryptocurrency. They may claim to have made substantial profits themselves and offer to help the victim achieve similar returns. The victim is often encouraged to start with a small investment, which the scammer ensures yields impressive returns. This fabricated success is designed to make the investment appear legitimate and lucrative. Buoyed by the initial success, the victim is persuaded to invest larger sums of money, with promises of even greater returns. Scammers may provide fake websites or apps showing inflated account balances to bolster their credibility. However, when the victim attempts to withdraw their funds or profits, they encounter various obstacles. The scammer may demand additional fees or taxes, which are merely tactics to extract more money.2 points

noting wrong with your logic but I think those days electorate at large is more progressive that people they are voting into offices. There were serious doubts if America will swallow black guy as president and it turned out to be relative breeze. We should remember and take a heart that this year we already had two upsets of predictions in established democracies, Modi was bracing India for BJP supermajority and finished up substantially short of even worst predictions. After 1st round of recent voting in France is was given , even by serious commentators that Le Pen will win and her party ended third only. Undecided may go way you suspect but also they may see new light with new faces and be energized by that. Polish presidential elections in 2020 are good example , when opposition saw that her candidate flounders at last minute they switched to young and energetic president of Warsaw and he lost very narrowly.2 points

It's a basic human right. Don't allow what the 40% of Americans who oppose allowing us to marry who we wish dictate what we should think of ourselves. Don't allow them to deny us our dignity. From The Thaiger The Move Forward Party (MFP) is advocating for a significant change to Thailand’s Criminal Code to legalise the adult entertainment industry, including pornographic materials and sex toys. This initiative aims to dismantle the existing taboos and establish better regulation. MFP MP for Bangkok, Taopiphop Limjittrakorn, submitted the proposal to Parliament last week, with discussions expected to commence within the next couple of weeks. Currently, Section 287 of the Criminal Code prohibits all forms of adult materials, including pornographic images and sex toys. The proposed amendment would still ban certain types of pornography, particularly those depicting sexual violence, rape, and paedophilia, according to Taopiphop. The amendment also aims to prevent individuals under the age of 20 from participating in the production of adult content. Additionally, it seeks to relax regulations concerning the sale of sex toys, allowing products certified by the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) and the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) to be legally sold. Taopiphop stated he is prepared for potential backlash but emphasised the public interest as his primary motivation. “I want people to stop pretending [that adult content is taboo]. Let’s talk [openly] through parliamentary mechanisms. I wonder where the moral standard lies in Thai society.” Pornographic materials He clarified that he has no personal gain from the bill, stressing that the debate is essential for societal progress. “I brought up the matter not because I want Thai youths to have easy access to pornographic materials. “The real intention here is to bring [the adult content industry] to the surface so it could be discussed openly and legally regulated.” Legalising the industry could positively impact the economy through taxation and ensure the safety of those working within it. Many sex workers face exploitation and abuse with little recourse due to the industry’s illegal status. Rachada Dhnadirek, an executive of the opposition Democrat Party, previously expressed support for MFP’s proposal to legalise sex toys. She cited research from Technavio, a British market research company, highlighting the economic benefits. Taxing toys According to the research, the global sex toy industry has been growing by about 7% annually since 2019, which translates to an increase of approximately 300 billion baht per year. Legalisation would allow the government to tax sex toy vendors, resulting in increased state revenue. MFP’s proposal to amend Section 287 underwent a public hearing from August 25 to October 31 last year. Although the hearing was attended by 1,072 people, only 22 shared their opinions. Consultations with various state agencies, including the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), Ministry of Education, Royal Thai Police (RTP), and the Office of National Human Rights Commission, have also taken place. The RTP expressed concerns that easier access to pornographic materials could lead to an uptick in sex-related crimes. They argue that the bill could do more harm than good if passed into law. The MoPH emphasised the need for mechanisms to prevent those under 20 years from involving themselves in the adult industry. Meanwhile, the MoJ highlighted that the bill does not clearly differentiate between legal and illegal production, which could open the door to abuses by corrupt officials, reported Bangkok Post.1 point

So the idea of Kamala Harris and Pete Buttigieg running around and dropping clever and witty shit bombs all over the Felon And His Ass Licker is thrilling. Like I want a month of THAT just to catch up from this drought that we have been in, where I had to listen to 90 minutes of Trump's lying ass and then watch JD Vance go lick it!. I had never actually heard Josh Shapiro, so I went to YouTube to find Josh. And this felt just the same. Please put him on a stage and just let this man go off on Trump. How could you possibly know that? The fact that over 140 of his previous White House staff were involved in its creation, it beggars belief that noone bothered to tell him about it. It sounds a lot like the piano player in the brothel. "Yet he is a voracious reader" How could you know that? Have you ever seen him reading? It's obvious he hasn't read the constitution, nor has he read the bible - he has broken all of the 10 commandments. You mention a lot of fine candidates but I believe that you're not being fair to Buttigieg. It seems that many have drunk Trump's kool aid. They have come to accept that he can't be beaten. It puzzles me that on a site that serves the interest of gay men, we're hardest on one of our own. If women had thought that way, they'd still be without the right to vote.1 point -
Nope. These, who "know all to well the real Trump" are already on the dems side. Please read again my first statement - I'm talking about undecided conservative and center. All I’m trying to explain is that with Kamala and Pete, the dems risk scooping up fewer votes than will pass them by to the reps. And, by the way, I wonder why candidates should be from political aristocracy - governors, senators... clans... Why not from professionals like Blinken or Yelen?1 point
-
That's the conventional thinking. But you have to be the opposite of your opponent, not a clone. The electorate is hungry for a clear choice. Young people (under 35) have not been excited enough to vote since Obama was running. The Dems need a ticket that excites them and gets them out. This is not the time to worry about playing to the center. You're going to get them anyway because they know all to well the real Trump. And you're not going to get any Trumpsters to cross over. Like in a military campaign, this is the moment to do the unexpected. I believe Kamala and Pete would complement each other in a way that Trump and Vance can not. If Trump suspects for a moment that he's being upstaged by Vance, he won't be able to hide it. Could indeed happen. His presidency was full of such examples.1 point

people like to complain about everything. Mr. Fisher can stay for his 5 years , no worries while people using new rules don't know if in year or three rules may be changed. That's first. Second, as with all investments sometimes we win , sometimes we lose. We all bought non-refundable tickets or book non-refundable hotel rooms only to see them going on 30% off sale 4 days later . Or bought a visas only to see requirement removed week later. Moses post underscores it. As for 'new' tax rules, quite a few complaining expats are screaming murder not realising that those mirror exactly rules at their own country. Definitely my case ( rules , not screaming)1 point

From Pattaya Mail Expats angry at huge concessions in latest Thai visa announcements By Barry Kenyon Longstay expats with expensive visas say the new 60 days visa-exempt policy and the 180 days Destination Thailand Visa have made the Elite visa and the annual extensions of stay for retirement and marriage worthless. Geoffrey Fisher, a Brit who recently paid 900,000 baht (about 20,000 UK pounds) for the five year Elite visa said he had wasted his money as more or less anyone can now stay in Thailand almost indefinitely for a paltry sum. The disenchanted argue that the 60 days visa-exempt can evidently be extended at local immigration for 30 days more followed by a border run to start the whole process again. Some immigration officers at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport have allegedly told new arrivals they can now do as many border runs as they like. Separately, the five years and multi-entry Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) offers 180 days on entry for 10,000 baht (around 200 UK pounds) plus the chance to extend for a further 180 days. The process can then be repeated by briefly leaving the country. American expat Dan Silverman, who holds a yearly extension based on retirement, said, “It’s just ridiculous. I have to keep 800,000 baht in a Thai bank, obtain medical insurance, face ever-changing regulations and regularly report my Thai address throughout the year, or be fined.” He added, “And for what, when you can come and go as you please with the new visas?” Views such as this are currently being voiced widely on social media as expats digest the latest visa announcement. Of course, the critics may be over-reacting. Information officially published so far does not specify the number of times the visa-exempt discretion may be used. The DTV requires a cash bond or other proof of 500,000 baht. It is principally aimed at digital nomads and freelancers working for foreign companies (not Thai based) and applicants are expected to show to embassies contracts of employment or portfolios of work undertaken. Yet the foreign affairs ministry also accepts DTV applications from participants in Thai “soft power” activities such as Thai cooking classes, Muay Thai training, medical treatment, music festivals or seminars. Although applicants have to show some relevant documentation on application, there is wide concern about the ambiguities. One expat with a one year marriage extension said, “Would an appointment letter from a hospital for extracting your teeth enable you to get 180 days plus an extension of 180 days? Does a foreigner learning Thai cuisine need five years to learn how to cook?” Immigration consultants say that the basic problem is that the foreign affairs ministry controls visas from embassies, but the immigration bureau under the interior ministry is responsible for extensions and what happens after arrival. Immigration lawyer Jessataporn Bunnag said, “The DTV throws a great deal of responsibility on embassies to check out initial applicants and on the immigration bureau to monitor extensions and repeats.” He expected some clarification once the impact of the changes had been analyzed. Meanwhile, the Bangkok Post suggests that questions may be emailed to deeperdiveThailand@gmail.com Next week that newspaper will interview Narunchai Niddad, deputy director of consular affairs at the foreign affairs ministry. One is bound to wonder how many of the beneficiaries of the new visas will understand that, once they are in Thailand for six months or more in a calendar year, they become tax residents of Thailand and subject to the income tax policy of the Thai Revenue Department. Whatever that is.1 point
