Day 7 Known quality is known quality. As they say , S never disappoints and never ask for extra money, taxi etc. Since my room is without breakfast we went for one to Foodland, time honored habit. Rest of morning lazy but at 2 pm I decided to check Senso again, 3rd day in row. Guy behind the counter sported very wide smile seeing me, such a loyal customer. Thainya and soi 4 were deserted although I saw some people still entering completely darkened Banana Club, in Patpong 2 I met two HotMale Beer bar waiters including famous Alex going home after end of their shift, few people were eating in Foodland but nobody of interest and in soi6 in front of one shop there were 2 cute boys who offered massage but I felt I had enough of day today and I politely declined claiming I’m shy and tired. Beside the usual drawbacks of using an Airbnb like sometimes complicated check-in/check-out instructions, slow response if something is not working, etc I feel like the biggest drawback of using an Airbnb in places where you are expecting a high volume of in-bed activity (Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Phili, etc) is the lack of daily housekeeping. Personally, I can't imagine sleeping in the same bedsheets for 8 days in southeast Asia. Even if you or the guy(s) are super clean, just the sweat that eventually ends up in the sheets during that time period would make it a very unpleasant and unhygienic place to sleep. Some hosts offer a housekeeping service every x number of days, usually with an extra charge. It's something you should definitely look at if you plan to go through the Airbnb route.

Burmese food, typical working class place where people may stop by on their way to or from work, they do a lot of take outs. Place seem to be popular - when we entered it was empty but by time our food arrived all tables were taken. Dishes in 70-90 baht range, it's right under the stairs on the right

Those are valid concerns. After retirement, my visits became longer (30 and now 60 days), Airbnb’s became more economical and practical. Since my regular guy is my only overnight guest, shared housekeeping chores are not an issue. Only use units that have washer in room. And luckily found super attentive agent who takes care of maintenance issues quickly. But for most visitors hotels are the option of choice. Finding suitable ones should be simple because so many members have reported their experiences on forum.

First I have found some Airbnb check ins complicated ,trying to find letterboxes with keys ,using codes etc Then some in the Manila Philippines charges you extra for use of pool & gym 100- 150 pesos a day etc vs free pool gym in hotel Bedsheets and cleanliness yes good points vs free daily cleaning in a hotel

Dreamboys is busy every night with customers from those who go just to watch the show and those who go to drink whisky seated in private sofas. While not fully filled to capacity, there is always a steady inflow of customers throughout the night. About 30 to 40 guys working at 9pm. By midnight, only half the guys are standing on stage because some got offs while most were drinking with big spenders. In terms of selection, Dreamboys seems to have every type for everyone. Some handsome twinks. Some well-proportioned hunks (but obviously not to Tawan standard). Also some veterans and old-timers who rarely get offs but are there to perform at shows. Show is mixture of ladyboy and big cock performances. My favourite show in all the bars because of the coyote dancing which starts the first show 10.30pm and the third show after midnight. I went 4 times and always enjoyed the coyote dancing, often tipping my favourites! One of the things I enjoy at Dreamboys is watching the guys going down to meet customers who called them. They always have wide friendly smiles. When I am seated at the side, I have a good view of everything happening. And the bar is not dark like in Freshboys where you can hardly see anything. It was however unfortunate for me to see some customers behaving grotesquely. I saw a farang standing up close to the guys on stage with mamasan and pointing and "interviewing" them for a good 5 minutes. Not classy at all! In my opinion, mamasan should have called them down to the customer instead of allowing such a public display for everyone to see. I also witnessed a ridiculous Chinese customer walking up to the stage to a guy and he grabbed the guy's dick and felt the goods before telling him to go and sit with him! Because I was at Dreamboys so often, I remember the guys and notice how certain guys are buddies and are always together. There's a pair of tall guys whom I see always standing next to each other on stage. During the show, they come off the stage and sit together. I saw them while I was having dinner at Foodland at 7 plus before they report to work on subsequent days. I saw them twice and once, I was at next table. If not for the fact that I was with my guy, I would have sat and chatted with them and maybe even paid for their meal! I also saw from afar one particular guy who works at Jupiter who came into Dreamboys with his Asian looking customer on two nights. They sat at private sofa and had whisky. Mamasans and some Dreamboys guys would join them and drink together. The customer (who wears flowery beach shirt and long shorts and with gold accessories) is Jupiter guy's regular customer so when he comes to Bangkok, Jupiter guy will be away from his own bar to accompany him. This time round, customer was in town for 4 nights. I thought the customer was from China but I found out later that he was Vietnamese. Jupiter guy is popular and has many regular Asian customers who off him because he holds his drink well and he speaks Chinese well. Even though he works at Jupiter, he seldom appears there because he is always with regular customers! I did have one opportunity to meet him at Jupiter to drink and chat with him for a while. He is my regular guy's best friend and we talk and tease each other. Back to Dreamboys. I would say this bar looks to be the best bar in Bangkok in my opinion. It is well-run and its show has something for everyone. Size and layout of venue is also conducive. Seeing the constant stream of customers as well as the number of big spenders at private sofas (there was even one birthday celebration on one of the nights I was there), it might be even more profitable than Jupiter and Moonlight!

Personally, I feel that it might be a little more affordable but not that far apart. And like @floridarob mentioned, there's no gay gogo bars like those in Thailand but the apps are full of guys offering their services. Jakarta city might not have much in terms of tourist attractions but the food/cafe scene is better than Bangkok, for me at least.
