This is one of the BIG mysteries here in Pattaya. Back in the heyday - the 2 BIG entertainment centers were Sunee Plaza and Boyztown. Sunee fell from grace with the never ending police raids and now exists with just 3 or 4 bars Boyztown was perhaps the PRIME area for the gay life in Pattaya - back in the day. Now Boyztown (well at least the 2 main anchors = BoyzBoyzBoyz and Boyz Music) are primarily catering to the Chinese bus tour crowd and us non-Chinese bus tour people are overlooked. So, it would appear that there is a historical shift taking place from: Sunee Plaza --> to Boyztown --> now to Jomtien Supertown Complex This was evident at yesterday's 8 June 2024 Pattaya Community Pride event - there was ZERO / nada presence of anything from Boyztown. Instead this event was participated and sponsored by SWING, Supertown, and the Pattaya Mayor's office. To me this is sad that Boyztown chooses to not participate in yesterday's Pride event. There will be a second Pattaya Pride event on 22 June 2024 - so, we will see if Boyztown will step up to the plate for that event - but it is sponsored by Pattana - the owner of the Central Festival shopping mall.5 points -

Freshboys was full house this evening for first show. 30 guys available, mostly Vietnamese. Barechested in white shorts. Sol Bar has more ladyboy shows on Friday and Saturday nights compared to other nights. There were even 5 ladyboys standing outside Sol Bar to promote their shows. A shrewd strategy to attract the casual tourists.3 points

I visited Dreamboys bar twice last week, I can say that I found the place quite big and spacious. Waiters and captains are friendly. Ventilation systems and stage music systems work well. I liked their shows. The number of guys on stage was quite high, more than 25 guys came on stage even though it was a weekday. Most of the customers come in groups and it gets crowded after 10 o'clock. On the first day, I took my 2 friends from the other bar and went there. I liked a boy (Cambodian) at first sight. My two friends with me knew him because they were Cambodian and they encouraged me to invite him for drinks , it was totally enjoyable night for us . l agreed to meet him the next evening, and the next day I visited the bar alone. When l arrived at 9 o'clock, l told mamasan his number and booked him in advance. When he (really handsome and cute) came to the bar and sat next to me with a smile, I congratulated myself for making the right choice😍 After Moonlight Bar and Banana Bar, I added Dreamboys Bar to my visit list for my next holidays.3 points

Boyz, Boyz, Boyz and Toy Boys are as different as day and night! In BBB the dancers just stand on the stage, in their jeans, from about 9pm until show time while at Toy Boys the dancers are wearing the briefest of briefs and move about on the stage and flirt with the customers. Drinks are 350 in BBB and 250 in Toy Boy. BBB relies on their Chinese customers while Toy Boy attracts both Farang and Chinese. What is weird is there may be 2 to 6+ Chinese customers walk into ToyBoy, look around, and then walk out for no reason at all. The ones who walk in BBB do so about 10 pm and stay for the show.2 points -

Unequal justice. Bilking his own supports out of their donated money for the imaginary wall scheme. No prison time for theft. Assisting with Trump's plans to steal an election he lost by 7 million votes, and 70+ electoral college votes. No prison time. Finally convicted for defying a subpoena from Congress. Then ... we'll see you in a month from now for prison giving you lots of time to figure out how some other level of the judiciary could step in and assist you. From Thai PBS World Thailand’s Senate race kicked off under a storm of controversy on Sunday (June 9), beset by lawsuits, allegations, and conspiracy theories. Sunday’s nationwide district-level vote will be followed by five more rounds in what is described as the “most complicated election in the world”. Over 46,000 candidates will vote in two rounds at the district, provincial, and national levels to select 200 new senators. The new senators will replace members of the junta-appointed Senate, who are currently in caretaker roles after their five-year term expired on May 10. On Wednesday, just days before voting started, the Constitutional Court accepted a petition filed by a group of senatorial candidates alleging that four clauses in the organic law governing the poll breach the Constitution. The petition stems from a May 24 ruling by the Central Administrative Court that revoked three regulations on candidate introductions: the limit of two A4 pages, the method of electronic introduction, and the ban on artists or media professionals from using their talents to introduce themselves. This is the first time in Thailand that all Senate members will come from a vote among candidates. In 2019, the 250-member Senate was made of 194 members handpicked by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), and 50 representatives drawn from a vote among different occupations. The remaining six appointees were chiefs from the armed forces and the police. Of the 48,226 people who applied for this year’s Senate race, 46,206 qualified to join the first round on Sunday. A total of 2,020 applicants failed to meet the qualification criteria. Sunday’s district-level vote will be followed a week later by the provincial-level vote on June 16. The national-level vote will be held on June 26, with the final results due to be announced on July 2. Candidates will vote over the six rounds to select 10 senators from 20 eligible fields. These include law and justice, education, public health, agriculture, science and technology, mass communication, employees/workers, business owners, tourism professionals, industrialists, artists/athletes, independent professionals, women, and elderly, disabled or ethnic groups. From Thai PBS World The Grand Villa at Night//Photo Courtesy of Deva Manor Facebook Built nearly 130 years ago during the reign of King Rama IV, the Grand Villa of Deves Palace is again brimming with life. This historical residence, once private, is now a haven for art and history enthusiasts. Once the residence of Queen Sirikit’s ancestors, the Kitiyakara family, it was also a place where Kings Rama VI and Rama VII of Thailand (then Siam) enjoyed leisure time. The two-storey Grand Villa was part of Deves Palace, the royal residence gifted to Prince Chanthaburi Naruenart by King Chulalongkorn (King Rama V) in 1896. Today, the Aniruth-deva family owns the property. After Phraya Aniruth-deva’s passing in 1951, the Grand Villa remained closed for 56 years. Determined to preserve its grandeur and original artistry, his grandson, Col Fuangvich Aniruth-deva, embarked on a meticulous renovation project. His goal, he explains, was to honor Prince Chanthaburi Naruenart’s legacy. “Anyone who appreciates the history and architecture of this villa is welcome,” Col. Fuangvich said during a recent tour, highlighting his commitment to public access. Deva Manor, named after the family, is open daily. However, those seeking an in-depth exploration of the architecture and history are encouraged to visit on public holidays or pre-book a group tour. Led by the owner himself on occasion, these tours offer a captivating narrative of the palace’s past, using artefacts, decor, and architecture to bring history to life. The Colonial-style building reflects the era of King Rama V, when European influences permeated royal and public projects. Deva Manor is located at 4, Krung-kasem Road, Phra Nakhon district, Bangkok. Pride 2024 Pattaya (2 parades)
BL8gPt reacted to bkkmfj2648 for a topic
A small review of the Pattaya Community Pride 2024 event which took place yesterday, 8 June 2024. The parade route started from the famous Colosseum Show Pattaya building on Thepprasit road and wound its way onto Thappraya road until its termination point at our beloved gay Dongtan beach. I believe that this marching route is approximately 2km and should take approximately 24 minutes under normal walking circumstances. Fellow forum member, JD100 and I arrived around 5pm to the Dongtan beach police box and the parade was just starting to arrive at its destination. This is where it started at the Colosseum: This is where it ended at Dongtan beach. Parade arriving into the Dongtan beach area. 20240608_171008.mp4 Then for like 2 hours there were people up on the stage talking about a million things (90% in Thai). Many important local gay people, drag queens, parade organizers, SWING presenters and staff, Pattaya mayor, etcetra. --> I believe that the Pattaya mayor is the gentleman seated with the rainbow spiral t-shirt. Then the speeches concluded and the fireworks started. By this moment - around 7pm, JD100 and I were hungry so we went to get a bit to eat in the nearby SINT restaurant. Unfortunately, I discovered today that once the presenters and politicians got off the stage they transformed the stage into a type of best drag/ladyboy competition and then with some cool bands and dancing ensued. Screen_Recording_20240609_172604_X.mp4 After dinner, we entered the Jomtien Supertown Complex at the Thappraya entrance (where the Poseidon is) and there was a stage at the entrance and it was heaving with people dancing. Then we strolled through the complex towards The Venue and then at the turn left - there was another stage setup with music and people dancing. We got past that to our final destination at the junction with Soda Massage where there was another stage of people dancing and having a ton of fun. So, we plopped ourselves here to watch the fun and participate somewhat. In summary, I was VERY impressed - as this was my FIRST Gay Pride event in Thailand since retiring here 18 months prior. Everything was well organized, very entertaining, and too many things to do (which is good) - as you could not be everywhere in one moment - especially with the 4 entertainment stages that were setup - 3 inside the Supertown complex and 1 over at the Dongtan beach. I believe that the Thai government has petitioned to host the 2030 World Pride - and I participated as a volunteer in the year 2000 World Pride event when I lived in Rome, Italy, and it is estimated that we had close to 1 million visitors for that event. So, if Thailand can do the same for 2030 that will be amazing. If I am still here in 2029/2030 I will definitely volunteer my time towards this event - especially in the area of putting things in English - as this Pattaya Community Pride 2024 event was starved of available information in English. I will try to report on the NEXT 2nd Pattaya PRIDE festivities that are scheduled for 22 June 2024 under the label = "Pride for All". If any of you have a clue about why: there is this fracture within the Pattaya gay community = 2 separate gay pride parades and festivals, Boyztown is absent in the celebration of these events. Please let us all know. A similar fracture occurred in Rome, Italy during the years 1999/2000 leading up to the year 2000 World Pride event, when the gay community split into 2 distinct factions: Circolo Mario Miele and the associated Muccassasina, Arcigay. https://www.wikipink.org/index.php/World_Pride_Roma_2000 Many say that the Vatican had their fingers in this gay splinter because they were angry with the gay community to organize the FIRST World Pride ever during the same year as the Catholic Jubilee. From Thai PBS World Most respondents to an opinion survey, conducted by King Prajadhipok’s Institute (KPI), say they will vote for the Move Forward party and want the party’s former leader, Pita Limjaroenrat, to be Thailand’s next prime minister. KPI, in cooperation with the Office for the Promotion of People’s Politics and the Centre for the Development of People’s Politics, conducted an opinion survey on political parties and potential prime ministers one year after last year’s May 14th general election. 1,620 people across the country were interviewed. One of the questions asked was: “If there is an election in the next couple of days, from which parties would you elect constituency MPs? The poll shows 35.7% of the respondents say they will vote for candidates from the Move Forward party, 18.1% say the Pheu Thai party, 11.2% the Bhumjaithai party, 9.2% from United Thai Nation party, 7.8% from Palang Pracharath party, 5% from the Democrat party, 1.6% from the Chart Thai Pattana party and 1.2% from the Prachachart party. 10.2% were undecided. The next question was: “From which parties would you want to elect party-list MPs? The poll shows 44.9% say they will vote for Move Forward candidates, 20.2% for Pheu Thai candidates, 10.9% for United Thai Nation candidates, 3.5% for Bhumjaithai candidates, 3% for Democrat candidates, 1.3% for Prachachart candidates and 0.7% for Chart Thai Pattana candidates. Based on these responses, combining the election of constituency and party-list MPs, the Move Forward party would win 208 seats in the House, followed by 105 for Pheu Thai, 61 for Bhumjaithai, 34 for United Thai Nation, 30 for Palang Pracharath, 22 seats for the Democrats, 10 for Chart Thai Pattana and 9 for Prachachart. When asked who they want to be the next prime minister, the poll shows 46.9% said Pita, followed by 17.7% for General Prayut Chan-o-cha, 10.5% for Pheu Thai leader Paetongtarn Shinawatra, 8.7% for Srettha Thavisin, 3.3% for Bhumjaithai leader Anutin Charnvirakul, 1.7% for Jurin Laksanawisit of Democrat party and 0.4% for General Prawit Wongsuwan, leader of Palang Pracharath party.1 point

From The Nation The Republicans are trying to kill the Democrats with the latter’s own swords, and the battle between “liberals” and “conservatives” has been unfolding with one big plot twist after another, just like what’s happening in the Land of Smiles. The latest unexpected turn of events in America has the conservatives scream “Political persecution!” and the so-called liberals accused of running a “Banana Republic” only known previously to the third world. That irony might be the key difference in the comparison with Thailand. To cut a long story short, Donald Trump’s criminal conviction is putting the American democracy and rule of law under the microscope. Donations are pouring in for the Republicans; Trump’s popularity is threatening to go through the roof; and pro-Biden mechanisms are apparently unsure what to do. Take away the terms “liberals” and “conservatives”, it will be hard to differentiate between Thailand and America. In both countries, one side is claiming the other is “weaponising” the justice system for political reasons and the perceived victims thrive on groundswells of sympathy. Similarities also include the issues of LGBTQ, proclaimed “dangers” to the status quo and the fierce competitions to use celebrities and intellectuals to promote or attack causes, and the question of whether it’s actually liberty or anarchy. In the big picture, what is going on in Thailand and the US shows that politics everywhere is undergoing a major transformation. If the American model is seen to be failing, democratic formulas anywhere else will have to undergo soul-searching. Since America is the leader of the “Free World”, the global stake is huge whether Trump wins or not, and whether the eventual outcome of the US presidential race is accepted or not. The rivalry between Trump and Joe Biden has gone far beyond simple democratic competition because each has demonised the other so much. It’s politics at its fiercest yet, one the United States has not seen since the Civil War and one that makes coexistence a big ask. It has come to a point where if half of America is right, the other half must be seriously wrong. When players of democratic politics give voters just one choice _ vote for me or you choose evil _ it stops being democratic. Like political enemies in Thailand, Americans are getting misled or confused about “democracy”, which has been vastly misinterpreted, used selectively but broadly by the protagonists, and somehow turned into a big cause of national divide. And just like their Thai counterparts, American friends and relatives have stopped discussing politics, or they will fight. That is a gigantic shift. Americans used to be familiar with a peaceful and graceful handover of power, a luxury Thais never had. The “maturity” that everything has been based upon stands to be seriously tested, as Thais struggle to reach theirs. In a way, Thailand is undertaking a more advanced course. The Pheu Thai-conservatives uneasy partnership, with the future of Thaksin Shinawatra thrown in along with the unpredictability of Srettha Thavisin’s premiership and Cabinet, mean things are messier than the American divide. Simply put, if the United States is becoming a Banana Republic as claimed by many pro-Trump Americans including well-known politician Tulsi Gabbard and famous commentator Tucker Carlson, it’s a fledging Banana Republic and can learn from the pros scattering around the globe. This is not to say that America is not experiencing a “first” of its own. The Thai politics has not seen accusations that the liberals “weaponised” the justice system, although it can be argued that only those in power can abuse the justice system, and Thailand’s “liberals” have not really had that power yet. The Republicans are wielding the Trump conviction like a sword. But it’s a sword snatched from the Democrats, who have been telling voters that the man is democracy’s biggest threat. A Trump landslide is now a possibility. If that really happens, it will be on the back of accusations liberals are not usually associated with, in public eyes at least. But what could be worse for the American formula is that the two-party system could lose much credibility. Thailand then can be considered to be luckier, in that it has a multiple-party system, which has greater “flexibility” (that allowed Pheu Thai to join hands with the conservatives and presents more leadership choices). In fact, the two-party system always faces a bigger danger of sliding into authoritarianism. That is because, in that system, when you call your opponent an evil, you give the public no other choice but yourself. As things stand, both systems _ two-party and multi-party _ are seeing the ultimate consequences of their shortcomings. The main difference is that while America’s trouble originated from the fact that it has just two parties competing for power, hence having the tendency to do anything necessary, Thailand’s is more individualised. It all comes back to the most important question, asked throughout the history of mankind: Should we set up a system and put people in it, because system can change or control people, or should it be the other way around, because when it comes to good and bad people, system matters less than what they do? Toyboys itself is also currently full of Chinese customers, male and female; something they have deliberately encouraged over the last few years. Its signage is part Chinese/part English, and, importantly, they have at least one Chinese speaking junior mamasans to welcome them inside and keep an eye on them inside in terms of drinks and choosing boy companions off the stage, etc. The consequence is that they are usually busy and bustling most nights, whereas elsewhere in BoyzTown the boys are reporting a dearth of customers. My boyfriend is based at Pikky Bar and frequently video calls me from his 'welcome' table out in the soi and showing me scenes of an empty soi. BoyzBoyzBoyz opposite him is busy he reports, 'but all Chinese', he says. His bar and others around him seem all but empty. My spy in Classic Boy Bar says they are also hurting inside through lack of customers. Toyboys seems to have achieved critical mass at the moment. A steady flow of customers encourages a stage-full of near naked boys who get drinks and offs, which in turn encourages the customers to come in, etc. etc. My little spies in the bar say that there is also a steady flow of 'new' boys to bolster and refresh the numbers on stage each night. And, ironically, drink prices at Toyboys and BoyzBoyzBoyz are eye-wateringly high compared to their neighbours.1 point

Sorry guys - I will not tolerate these comments!! After going to the Sloan Kettering hospital in Manhattan many times during the 1980s and watching your loved friends die in so much pain and agony - often exacerbated by the hostile and caustic AZT, it was too much to bear. This was well documented in the Dallas Buyers Club movie https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dallas_Buyers_Club about all of the less caustic and painful alternatives that were available in Mexico but were blocked in the USA. After losing 50% of my friends to AIDS in the 1980s and early 1990s, I suffered from "survivor's remorse" and I volunteered my body to science under the experimental clinical trials for Vaxgen in 1997, 1998, and 1999 - where for every 6 months we had to be share with the scientists all of our sexual encounters, types of sex, protected or not, etc. and get injected with the Vaxgen vaccine. In the year 2000 after the conclusion of the study, we were told that it was only 17% effective and deemed to be a failure. We were also told if we were in the placebo group or in the non-placebo group - I was in the non-placebo group and I was given a special card to show to the future medical authorities - as I could test false positive for AIDS and I was to show this Vaxgen card so that they would know that it is the result of the vaccine study trials. I was asked to go onto Denver TV to say why did I volunteer my body for this Vaxgen trial and I responded: "After watching so many of my friends die from AIDS in such a painful and violent way with AZT - I just had to do something in the memory of my lost friends....." So, when you JUDGE me because I complain about the insensitivity of Dr. Fauci and the USA blocking the alternative medicines that were available in Mexico at that time, I ask to all of you - what personal sacrifice did you make to help with AIDS research??1 point -

So i’m back from Sousse tunisian boys - Specially straight boys - are really gorgeous in my opinion Arab men have the highest sex appeal in the world but it’s subjective of course - and among Arab men Tunisians are in my top five. Their strong and Hairy legs make me crasy So i walked the « «main road for finding guys » and sat at the « two places » But didn’t see so «many many guys that parade by » as described by Santiagodc. But i saw lot of old european gays who didn’t seem very enthusiastic. at both places « the guys for services » weren’t my type : too skinny, too effeminate or too young. But on the « corniche » or in the neighbouring streets i met a lot of gay for pay men and actually THEY choose you ( strong gaze and growl). They weren’t among the most handsome men you could meet in the street but more boys next door. in bed, you really feel yourself in the hands of straight macho men. They kiss, know how to suck tits and fuck your ass without delicatess. My body is yet full of hickeys and bruises… that was hummm so delicious. They cum quickly though. my place and appartement for rent I had luck too in the medina with a young man who spoke me in a very directive manner and almost raped me in his grand mother’s ruined khan Forget Matmata i only saw old women there In Chenini, the boys weren’t attractive In conclusion, sex was really hot ( for those who like G4p) and i love the way i have been desired in bed. Men don’t just pretend. they really want to have fun with you. but i’m frustrated not to have been able to put the sexiest in my bed I will go back in Tunisia because among the country i visited it’s the one where my body had the more pleasure.1 point -
Hey guys. Just thought share a brief report on my recent trip. Bars I went to 2 bars during my weekend trip; Frolic & ChinChin. It was pretty packed on Friday night in both bars, celebrating the start of Pride month. On Friday night, I was at Frolic first, before going to ChinChin later that night. Frolic had 2 gogo boys dancing as opening for the drag show. The crowd was kind of a mixed bag in terms of age and local vs foreigner. People tend to stick to their own click at first, until the alcohol and whatever they were taking in from the balloons kicked in. Frolic also has an entrance fee for Saturday night (around 100k VND, I think), which does not include drinks. I only went to ChinChin on Friday night, and it was pretty late by then but the crowd was still pretty big. The vibe I get from ChinChin is that it's more for the "bougie" crowd. The bar's set up gives off a more upscale feel, and the guests actually dressed up decently. Again, people tend to stick with their own crowd, and there are more locals here with maybe the odd few foreigners. But the guys were, IMHO, hotter than the those in the Frolic crowd 😅. Sauna I only went to one sauna, Nadam. It was a Saturday evening (around 5pm) and there was pretty big crowd, with varying ages. Though, I seem to be the only non-oriental looking guest from what I can see. A lot of guys with great bodies there. The crowd tend to be more reserved, with a few guys giving a grope if they're interested, to see if you are too. There is a pretty well equipped gym, and the layout of the sauna provides for different areas (multiple lounging areas, saunas (including steam room, hot & cold jacuzzi) are on the ground floor, with the mazes on the first and secord floor. The entry fee was less than 100k VND if I'm not mistaken. Saunas are not really my thing but if you enjoy it and are into oriental asians, this would be a good place for you. Online MBs I received several offers on the apps (Grindr and HeeSay), ranging from 500k VND to 2 mil VND depending on what you want. There are surprisingly more gym fit MBs than the twinkier guys. My experience hiring one of the guys was, unfortunately, not that great. The guy looked masculine with a gym fit body in the pics, but in person he was more effeminate. When I showered, he went ahead and helped himself to the snacks and drinks I had in my room...without asking me. I didn't realise it until after he left. The service itself was rather mediocre, so all in all, it wasn't really a good experience. But I am eagre to come back and explore a bit more of the HCM scene. I met several amazing local guys over coffee and some of the expats I met at the bars. Looking forward to my next trip.1 point
